Robbie has confirmed my idea.. it’s time to switch putters
I used to always putt with pro aviar.. then I switched to trilogy disc and found a gem in the latitude 64 mercy in soft plastic and currently own 3 of them 174g. I'm currently 2 yrs in with the mercy best switch ive made.. im more consistent and have a confidence within 50ft that im making it or hitting metal.. It's practically an aviar with a little extra glide
Switched from a Focus to a Link (I like the flat top a bit more) and never looked back.
I added a innova colt to my bag for longer approaches and it has turned out to be the best disc I throw. I still use the Aviar for close up shots.
Ricky was with Innova when he won his world titles. He used KC Pro Aviars I’m pretty sure.
I have destroyed at least three kc pro aviars; two smashed into multiple pieces and one split down the middle.
Are you not with Innova anymore? When did I miss that?
Switching putters twice definitely helped my game. I started with Aviars like a lot of people and then when I switched to Nomads I improved quite a bit. Biggest drawback for me with Nomads was the only 2 (at the time, now I think 3) plastics they came in. I switched to the P2/Firefly and I improved again and since 4 manufacturers make a "P2" it really opened up the doors on plastic selection. Nexus firefly is my main putter for most scenarios but I have some in KC and DX, also have some Alpaca and Omega4s in various plastics to try out and I like them all a lot.
Some people think it’s tough falling in love with a limited run disc.
And some people converted their entire bag, over a series of years, to exclusively Vibram discs only to have the company announce they were ceasing to be a part of the sport.
Intro😆
I actually picked up two new Ions today before this video came out to give them a try. I never thought about the index finger position. I went out to play this evening and moved my index finger to where the bead sat in my first knuckle crease. The disc was popping out of my hand, straight, and no wobble at all. Great adjustment for me and the way I putt. Thanks for the tip… *da dum ching*.
If you don’t have the hand size of most pros than you probably will feel more comfortable with a putter with less depth.
Putter weight should be considered. If you like the feel of your putter and you are online consistently but you’re either feeding or turning away from basket then you should consider a different weight.
Cool video
I put with a beat in pro pig. The trick is speed control. pig does the rest.
Dude… I love the Dagger. I tried to switch to the pure a d I do like it, but it just doesn't fly the same. Like to throw the pure and caltrop but putt the dagger. Unless it's windy, then I'll putt with the pure and just have to know I can't hit as far of putts.
if you dont like the pure, youre wrong
Innova firefly
I can switch putters now. Robbie said so.
First Sensei since it were simple and came in the starter-pack, but I just didn't like the sharp edge that it have for quite some time, very nice otherwise and VERY readily availble.
Then I decided on the Nomad and bought 2… but they have a little inward slope that makes them feel a bit weird. Thats when I went to the Knife and I really liked it for a while… But switched to the Rune after having thrown it in premium very good on approaches almost going in without landing far off, and also putted with it some when lazy to pick up the actual putt-putter…
Also tried, Deputy, Emac Judge and also some longer putts with a Super Soft Marshal since it renders VERY makeable comeback putt… All in under a year ;D
Have settled on the Rune since almost a month, every mistake is by me with them so thats great. But it is surely great to have alternatives to just toss sometimes and feel out again now and then.
Vibram soft. FtW
they have jk aviars though
Recently won a 2020tattar opto x pure in a tourney raffle. It’s the best throwing putter in existence. Can’t change my mind.
I swapped to K3 Rekos more than a year ago and yeah I like the feel but the main reason Ive stuck with it for so long is that with the reko I feel like every missed putt is my fault and not the discs
So thorough! Well done sir
Im thinking of switching from Classic Aviars to Dismania P2's. Thoughts?
Love the teepad comment with the Luna. Haha
Is this video about changing putters?
I’ve been using the Sky god 4 since it dropped. It’s like putting with a parachute. Haha
Pizza Boy’s!!!! 💪🏻
Nexus firefly.
Went from Lunas, to Envys, back to Lunas in the course of 2 years.
Picked up a firefly once and never went back. It’s only been 6 months with them, and while I’m still new to the sport, I never doubt the putter anymore.
I just started my trial period with the tomb. Loving it so far only a couple weeks in need to give it another 4-6 weeks to really se though
I struggle to go back and forth between glasses Robbie and non-glasses Robbie in the same video. 😉
I started with a Discraft Challenger II soft back in '07 and used for a long time until I retired it. Rekos are nice and very similar to my Active premium Sensei which I love but is a little hard and tends to not catch the chains well enough. I have also used DX and KC Aviar's which with my dry hands and the fact they're too deep for my feel I'm not a fan. Pure's in retro are nice but my all time favorite is my Thought Space Praxis in ethereal plastic, it's perfection for me:)
Robbie has confirmed my idea…it's time to switch putters
I only putt big bead Aviars, KC pros when its really hot, Yeti pros when its fair weather and JK Pros when its cold. It's all about how bendy the plastic feels for me.
I just switched putters. I had the same putting putter for 6+ years. The disc company is increasingly hard to find and the plastic today feels nothing like it did from 6 years ago. So I switch to a similar mold in an easier to find company from my local store.
I will still get other molds from other companies but for the putters I will stick with something more available.
I love the rhyno putter because of its slim profile and thumb track. But I recently held an invader in my hands and loved it. I’m not sure if it was the shallow flight plate or the flat top but it felt like a rhyno to me and I loved it. Cant wait to buy two and try them out on the green.
love how not one person has mentioned the fierce, the new esps are fire 🔥 glad paige made that plastic swap
I've been using the same 2 putters for almost 2 years now.
I have 32. Yes 32 different molds… Im pretty sure they are all defective 🤣 But the glow rainmaker is currently getting the job done. Thanks for the content Robbie, I will keep missing those chains ⛓ . B
within the span of a single winter, i had 9 kc pro rocs explode.. definitely not a great time
Love my Daggers.
I just recently switched to P2s from an aviar and when I practice putt I use many putters (envy, aviar, nova, P2, dagger) I’ve been noticing I still have the touch for aviars and will make a putt I miss with a P2. I’m sure over the next month or so I’ll be as comfortable with the P2s. Stay more consistent than me y’all.
Started putting with Links, then switched to XT Novas. Now with the release of P1's I switched to them and I'm really happy with them. Same fligt as Novas but a lot shallower with a nice hand feel
I would love to go play and practice disc golf every other day but I'm way too busy for that. sadly I can only make it once a week at max. I feel like I've hit a wall and just can't improve anymore because I can't keep my throws consistent.
