These putters have the craziest features. This is the brand new Odyssey AI1 square to square Max putters. I have the Max Stripe and Lewis has the Max One. I do indeed. But they are a little bit different. Talk me through why is it shaped like this? Any high MLI putters, they’re going to be slightly larger. It’s going to be a little bit more weight at the back which is going to give you better stability. Now, these are the most forgiving putters in the square to square range, right? So no matter where you hit it from heel to toe, you’re still going to get great roll and consistency in your speed as well off the face. Let’s talk about shaft placement. So it’s going in not quite to the middle of this head, but not far from it. How’s that going to help me? So that’s all to do with CG placement. So when the shaft goes slightly in behind that plane of CG, that’s going to help keep the putter as square as possible all the way through the stroke. Now Cal, we call that stroke balance. So no matter where the putter face is, it’s going to stay as square as possible. When I’m putting with this, do I need to have a forward press? Can I have it pretty upright? What’s the best way to use it? So there’s already 3.3° of shaft lean in this putter. So if you put it down, your hands will feel a little bit forward and on top of the ball. Now, what that’s going to do is if you are someone who opens the putter face quite a lot and maybe you miss a lot of putts, right? No matter where you’re kind of taking the putter back on the way through and then through the ball, it’s going to stay as square as possible.
