all right this is going to be fun I love
these type of events we have this team
stroke play uh event in New Orleans
dererk classic
and after the RBC Heritage ended and how
we had the weather we had in uh in
August of the week before that the
Masters I’m just going to look at the
weather we can pull it up and we can see
that in New Orleans it’s supposed to be
nice uh the one thing to note is it is
going to be Breezy but uh based on
everything that we see right now I’m
recording this Tuesday afternoon we
shouldn’t have any uh non Breeze related
weather issues all right so let’s pull
up my team stroke play a little
checklist page so a few things to note
they’re 80 teams which means there 160
golfers and so let’s kind of discuss the
team stroke play because I think a lot
of us kind of forget about this we it
doesn’t happen often there not a lot of
events that are even anywhere close to
this so Thursday which is going to be
round one you’re going to have best ball
so the way I I figure it the way it
makes the way I conceptualize it is if
it were me and Scotty Sheffer playing
he’s not at this tournament I’m not at
this tournament but I wouldn’t get in
the way of Scotty sheffler you know
having his 16 birdies so round round one
um Scotty and Walter would do very well
I would not get in the way we would be
doing very well together but Friday is
alternate shots so what would happen is
Scotty would uh you know shoot the ball
uh into the Fairway and 340 yards and
then I would shank it 100 yards into the
water so that alternate shot uh would
not work out for us and that is the
trickier day of the two so best ball
you’re just trying to have the best ball
for your team but alternate shot you
have to work together and then after
that you’ll have a cut line the top 33
uh Pairs and ties will make it and then
Saturday we’ll go back to the best ball
and then we’ll end Sunday with the
alternate shot uh don’t try to do it
DraftKings won’t let you do it make sure
when you’re making your teams you can’t
have two golfers on the same team so you
can’t try to double dip on DraftKings so
recent winner so first of all this
hasn’t always been team stroke play but
just looking back at the past few years
there’s actually only one intact team in
the recent form and you have Riley and
Har Hardy who won last year their
salaries are respectively 7500 you have
Billy Hors who normally plays with the
Sam Burns but Sam Burns is a new dad so
he’s not here uh so a lot of people
going to be talking about Billy hell and
uh but other than that there really
aren’t any intact teams that are in the
field this week so let’s look at TPC
Louisiana so 7,400 yards and just like
last last week is Bermuda and a seed POA
mix it’s a par 72 so a little more than
last week we have four par 3es 10 par
fours and four par fives so the things
we want to look at are just previous
success in events like this this is a
very unique format so you want to look
at those players that have done well at
this event you know hopefully with the
same pairing but that doesn’t happen all
the time but other events like this
birdies are better you’re not going to
win this event with a aeven underpar I
think last year was a 30 under it was
what was it I can pull it up last
year uh yeah Nick Hardy Nick Hardy and
Riley Davis won with 30 under par and
kind of we can kind of look at this we
see round one what I mean by you know
the best ball so as you can see whoever
had the best ball actually wins the hole
so and that’s the shot that actually
gets them you know the points so this is
kind of I mean then you have uh
then you have the forsome you have the
alternate shot so you have to work
together and then you go back to best
ball but yeah getting back to the main
point you’re going to need those you’re
going to need those birdies definitely
and then uh players that do well putting
on Bermuda and then just general T to
Green so when we look at those stats the
players and sorry the teams to Target
this week are chaet and Klay and you can
see they’re three teams that have an M
that means they play together before
multiple times you have hogi and MCN you
have igala and zalot Torres you have
morawa and kyama and then hadwin and
Taylor played before and Hardy and Riley
and as we’ve talked about they won last
year so who are my players in each of
the salary tiers that I’m team sorry who
are my team/ players in each of the
salary tiers that I’m really considering
so
obviously 10,000 and above everybody not
everybody a large percentage of people
are going to do camp L and uh and chafl
and I I I totally Patrick and chafl I
totally understand why you would do that
but just know playing that much chalk
with other chalk it can lead to not a
good situation and there’s no guarantee
that they are going to win so I’m going
to Pivot away from them I’m going to go
with tala and I forgot who’s his partner
igala and zalot Tores so tala’s recent
form has been really good and zalot
torus has been get getting better with
each tournament you get some salary
savings over shaf Lake get about 900 and
salary savings so I like them for the
ownership and the salary savings we mov
down into the 9,000 and the team that I
like let
me this up even though man let me tell
you man hogy and you can look down here
in the analysis he had a quintuple bogy
on the last hole by that time a big
thunderstorm came through at the end of
the RBC uh Heritage and he got a
quintuple Bogey and I’m telling you his
quintuple bogy before the quintuple bogy
I was in third place place in the round
four the late round four tournament and
after that Quint too Bogi I think I it
was terrible I think I finished in 60th
place or something like that but it was
just the that when you know when your
your dollars evaporate on DraftKings
that kind of happened after hogi got
that quintuple bogy but I’m not holding
that against him uh we can see he’s made
11 out of 12 uh Cuts uh he’s been in the
top 23 out of the last four tournaments
so I like hogi and we can also look and
see how they nearly has played uh and we
can see that he’s made nine out of 10
cups cuts into two top 10 so I like them
as a pairing in the 9000s and then once
again I’m going with horel but I gotta
we got to have this
disclaimer uh Alexander has not had uh
the best uh recent form so I mean I’m
not the I’m not a huge fan he finished
55th at the the Punta a championship
which isn’t the most rigorous uh event
so so um this this isn’t bur this isn’t
Burns so he’s not going to have Burns
this year so that is something to
consider and then we can move to the
7000s and I’m going to go with let’s
find Hardy I’m not going to rock the
boat here so I feel like I just don’t I
don’t feel like you should play Hardy
and the can’t lay kind of combination I
feel like you need to pick one so I’m
fine with the the salary savings and
going with Hardy and Riley and then into
the 6,000
I mean I honestly don’t really like a
lot of the six the uh under 7,000
pairings but I’m going to go with
chemistry in relatively good recent form
and I’m going to go with uh let me find
them I’m going to go with the brothers
I’m going go with the cooe brothers we
can see that uh Parker has made seven
out of 10 cuts and we can see Pearson
has made four out of 10 so hasn’t played
as well but uh if you’re going to go
down into the 6000s there are worse
options for you so let me know your
thoughts leave any comments but
