So in this video we’re going to talk very much about contact um because we know that a professional gol for a really good ball Striker will find a way to produce less Loft at the point of impact and we know that a higher handicapper will end up producing much
More Loft at the point of contact and this means that you’re going to be losing distance and that is a massive disadvantage to the higher handicapp of golfer so the question is how do we do that well the one R thing that we need to understand is shling so that
Basically means that when we hit the golf ball we want handle to be further ahead of the club head in the impact position than it was where it started and then the question is how does that happen well one of the biggest factors and influences which is what I want to
Talk about in today’s video is your rotational movement because if I kind of get set up here just left hand only when we hold the golf club because we have to grip the club in a sort of angle right so we hold the club like so in the
Fingers then we sit this hand on top sit the Palm on top the heel on top it creates an angle between the back of my wrist than the back of my forearm as I’m demonstrating very much here now once we have that in the setup position when we
Hit the golfball we know that professional golfers don’t return with this RIS position and the reason for that is because they’re more open okay now if I mimic a professional impact from address and they’ll they’ll address the ball similar to what I’m demonstrating here but at impact we know
That the pro will have more movement to the left and the body will be more open and if you imagine I now if we focus on the relationship between my left shoulder and the Club head okay so in the address position that’s the distance between my shoulder and the club head
And that’s why my wrist looks like this but if my shoulder moves further away from the club head then you can see the way the wrist will start to flatten so what you got to bear in mind is one of the biggest influences on shaffle is being more open coming in towards that
Impact position so having your uh lower body and your chest facing more towards the target will give you the capability to induce more shaftly now the second thing okay which is going to be really important is the ability to strike down on the golf ball okay so there’s two
Things that are playing a big role here that give us more shling more compression less Loft one is the ability to have shling which is going to come from being more open and then the second one is having more of a capability of striking down and the problem that I
Encounter with a lot of online students and then people that come to visit for lessons is that they over move in the back swing so they have a tendency to move like this okay now what this will do is and I can understand that movement because a lot of amateurs think I’ve got
To go like this cuz I want to hit it from the inside but then that’s why you end up getting stuck so the first thing you need to do is you need to start maybe do a couple little you know setup rehearsals where you get set up normally
And then open up and move more left cuz that’s a trer indication of where you want to be coming in towards that impact area I’ve got a good drill for you in a moment so the second thing is in the back swing just keep your head still and
Lift your arms up if you do that you’re going to be much you’re going to find it way easier to strike down on the back of the golf ball okay so keeping your head still lifting your arms up and understanding your body should be more
Open impact is going to lend itself to a much better um shuffling and better compression now a great draw you can press at home is you can use the wall now I’m going to show you this from face on don’t worry you get yourself set up
Against the wall at home you swing back and what you’re trying to do is get the club head and the Leading Edge to the corner of the Divide between the wall and the floor so if I drw line here okay to represent that wall you can see the
Way that I get the Leading Edge there and that will encourage you to get that sense of where your body is supposed to be cuz if you’re somebody who’s like this then your Club is always going to be rising hence the reason why you always add Loft so majority of students
That I work with will do something like the wall drill the line drill where I’ll get people to really try and strike more down and left because this promotes them to start rotating promotes them to start hitting more down on the ball and it makes a big difference to Quality
Contact welcome it I’ll see you soon

Merry Xmas Russell 🎄 😊
Love you Merry Christmas ⛳️⛳️🎄
Merry Christmas to you and yours
This was great Russell. Thank you and I wish you and your family a Merry Christmas and happy New Year!!!
Great Video. Merry Christmas.
So based on what you just said, could something within my swing explain why I sweep at contact? I never take a divot, if a divot appears, I’m generally short on the resulting shot.
