SANTA CRUZ, Calif. – The Oregon men’s golf team put together its best team score of the week on Wednesday in the final round of the 79th Western Intercollegiate, posting a 3-over 353 in the final round of the regular season at Pasatiempo Golf Club.

Oregon placed ninth in the 15-team field at 17-over par and will now turn its attention to the postseason, which kicks off with the Big Ten Championships on May 1 at Pumpkin Ridge Golf Club in Portland.

Sophomore Ramil Saelim led the Ducks in the final round with a 2-under 68, and Aiden Krafft finished as the top Duck on the leaderboard in a tie for 15th on the strength of a 5-under 65 in Tuesday’s second round.

How it Happened: Saelim was even par after a birdie-bogey start to the final round, but was nearly flawless the rest of the way. He made birdies at No. 9, No. 15 and No. 18 while adding just one more bogey to card his seventh sub-70 round of the season.

Krafft followed his 5-under 65 on Tuesday with a 1-over 71 in the final round. He was 3 over through his first five holes but then shot 2 under the rest of the way to secure his fifth top-20 finish of the season and 14th of his career.

Casper Nerpin and Kyreece Romero each enjoyed their best rounds of the week with even-par 70s, and Jeffrey Kwak rounded out the counting scores with a 4-over 74. Nerpin made 16 pars while adding one birdie and one bogey, and Romero rebounded from back-to-back double bogeys on the front nine to shoot 4 under across his final 12 holes with a birdie-birdie-eagle stretch on holes 11-13.

Oscar Lent also made his second eagle of the week while competing as an individual, holing out for a 2 on the par-4 seventh hole.
