[Music] [Applause] [Music] Heat. Hey, heat. Hey, heat. [Music] [Applause] [Music] [Applause] [Music] A fascinating day ahead at Laa Open on the east coast of Spain. An event that’s one of the favorite weeks for the players on the ladies European tour has been dominated by a 16-year-old. Lauren Walsh is going to need a big Sunday charge to threaten a first win. The Irish woman may be in third place, but she starts fully seven shots back. Nastasian Nadau looks the most likely a challenger. The French player has been knocking on the door for a breakthrough win and begins the day three behind. But ever since a day 64, Anna Huang has upstaged her elders and been at the top looking to become the first Canadian to win on tour. The 16-year-old starts in command. Huang at 17 under par and for much of the top 10, it appears to be just about jostling for position. Shannon Tan second on the order of merits is in the group at nine under. Very good afternoon to you. So, what is Sunday at Lasa going to bring? The le’s been enjoying this idealic setting for the third year running at Laa Golf Resort. We’re on the east coast in between the cities of Valencia and Alakante for Lasa Open. A $1 million prize fund. $150,000 goes to the champion and all played on this par 72 designed by former Masters champion Jose Maria Olathal playing today just under 6,200 yds. Well, the weather’s been glorious all week. It has clouded over a bit this afternoon. There is a threat of some showers, even a remote chance of a thunderstorm. Hopefully, that doesn’t materialize. I’m Richard Kaufman. Alongside me in commentary is Sophie Walker. So, for Anna Huang, well, she might not play like a 16-year-old, but how do you expect her to cope with today? Well, it’s the unknown. She’s never been in this final group position with this type of lead, but she’s only a rookie. yesterday. I thought she managed it well. Up and down on the last for park. Really important for momentum. Only made one bogey. It’s quite incredible. But this is Sunday. We’ll have to wait and see. But I’d be thinking, look, no one around me’s won on tour either. Well, the final three ball have already played nine holes. So, let’s catch up with what’s been going on. So, three shot lead for Huang. Here is Nadau at the first. Need a fast start and gets it. Tucking one in there tight on the first to that front pin. The French woman was in the mood. This one downhill right to left. Birdie at the first. Yeah, you want to see them drop, don’t you? You want to try and put some pressure on the leader. Huang made par at the first. So, the lead down to two then at the par 5 second. Huang couldn’t make better than par. This was for eagle. Just misses on the high side. But a birdie nonetheless would cut the lead to one. Off to the third. Birdie for for one finds the bottom of the cup. And that’s the move in the right direction that she wanted. One under through three. Yeah. So the lead up to two again. This was for Nadau to get within one again at seven. and it would prove to be a fairly pivotal miss given what was going to come at the very next hole. This eighth hole played the hardest hole on the golf course yesterday. Wind from right to left, water down the left and that lean suggests this one is in the drink. Massive mistake there by Nado. So after finding the Aua Sim gas, Nado had this to try and escape with a bogey five after a good approach. Good good five I suppose in the end, but the lead back to where it started the day, which was three shots for Anna Huang. And the ninth hole she’d birded every day. This into a backright pin. One of the hardest flags to find on this green, but don’t tell Anna Huang that. Yeah, birdie from her win. And Nau could only manage a par. So Anna Hang has in fact now increased the lead. It got down to one at one stage this afternoon, but Hang now leads by four over Nstansia Nadau. It seems like it’s still between those two. Maddie Hinsson Tolshard, the Australian rookie out in 33 is at 12 under pass. Shannon Tan, second on the rankings, looking to close that gap on Mimi Roads. She has moved to 11 under par. Kiara Tambellini, the number one from last year, is having a really good final round as is Jana Melova. Comeback story there from the Czech player. Her first event in a year and she has had six birdies in this final round. There is Mimi Rhodess at six under. So Sophie looking at that top of the leaderboard. I mean it’s a big nine holes ahead of Anna Hang, but she shouldn’t be short of confidence heading into it. No, just because every day and every nine holes has been the same. There’s a continuity to her game, pars and birdies. She’s only made one bogey. And if she carries on like that on this back nine, the trophy is hers. However, Sunday afternoon and the treelined back nine, you just hit one left, one right, start ricocheting off some trees. There are some double bogeies out there, but she looks robotic out there in the sense that she’s just finding those fairways and greens. It’s quite an astonishing front run running from the youngster. Yeah, she has led the way since the very first day with that fantastic round of 64. We’ve certainly been enjoying ourselves at this Lasa Golf Resort 2023. This event was won by Nura It last year. It was won by Halenbury and right now it looks like the trophy is destined for this Canadian youngster. They find themselves on this 10th green. 365 yd downwind par four. Slight dog leg from right to left. Playing alongside Lauren Walsh. She is one under par for her day. 11 under total. [Music] So through the back in two up against the collar. That is well gross is all you can say there. She’s opting for the putter. Those wasps around her will be annoying as well. Yeah, that’s why she’s backed off there. There are a fair few flying around. Maybe get him or her over there. Chase them away. quite down grain at the back of this green. She probably hit a good shot in and it just released. So, this one will be slow, but how’s it going to come out from that lie? The pop just took all of the sting out of that one. Yeah, Lauren Walsh has moved out of third place. It’s been taken by Madison Hinsson Tolshard. Here she is at 11 downhill straight away pile four bunker that sits across this fairway. So opting to lay up back to 10 then where Nadau is going to be putting next for Birdie. Now this back left flag, it was kind of the talk of the range. Any good flags out there on Sunday afternoon? Yeah, that one back left on the 10th hole just because of the the chute that goes on beyond the pin. So laid up in the front half of the green which means she’s going to have a a slow birdie put moving from left to right. try. Got to stay patient. Nau. It might be four shots a drift, but there’s still a long way to go in this. Shannon Tan two under par for her day. No bogeies opting to take it over the cross bunker here on the 11. Forward T box today and she has managed that in fine fashion. Super drive from Tan. Got a chance to stretch the lead to five shots with eight holes to play. It’s an outside chance. [Music] Just cozying it down there. It’s closer than Nadau’s and Walsh’s pars to come. [Music] Starts the week in 50th on the ladies European tour rankings which shows that she’s had a a solid rather than spectacular rookie season. But the spectacular has certainly arrived here at Lassaya. Second week in a row that Lauren Walsh finds herself in the final group for the final round. [Music] Has put it really well this week as Lauren Walsh needs it here. Tough read right to left. Good one. Nice save. [Applause] Yeah, there’s a little couple of subplots here. So for Laura Moch and for Nero, even if they can’t get the win, they both have the chance to jump into the top 10 of the ladies European tour order of merit. Ditto Nur Turio this afternoon as well, the winner of 2023. Top 10 will guarantee you a start at LPJ School at the end of the year. And it makes just the end of the year easier to organize with flights to America. Are you going once or are you going to go over twice? second stage if you don’t get into that top 10. Good two put there by Nadau. [Music] Got to try and put a little bit of pressure on Anahang. She did that early on but fair play to the Canadian. The lead got down to one but she just seemed nervous. What have we played? What 63 holes? She’s had one bogey. and she mentioned that she didn’t feel like she puted well yesterday and she did lose strokes on the greens compared to the other few days. But it’s her approach play which has been exemplary. She’s been the best out there in approach and that’s a good two put. So through 10 holes she has a fourshot lead. You can see some uh deep breathing there maybe suggesting what’s going through the mind and body. Here’s Hinsson Tolshot at 11. How’s it going to fly out of here? 125 pin and it’s on the back right. And it’s been such a good rookie class, hasn’t it? Hinson Tolshard is one of those that looking like she’s going to keep her cal for next season. Six started this week in the top 25 and they’re about to be joined by Huang it seems. This is quick from Kabori. Oh, that’s delicious playing there. You would have seen in your picture we had last week’s winner Alice Houston who’s having a tricky Sunday as opposed to last week’s final round in Switzerland. Well, Tan flew it through the back of the green on this hole yesterday from inside 100 yards. Let’s see what she can do today. Lob wedge trying to pitch it on the top shelf and let it stick. Oh, sublime. Well, she started eight back when she made that run in Houston on the final day in the USA. That was maybe a hand of the club back saying that was better than yesterday, wasn’t it? just a little bit. We can give her a birdie there. So, she was eight back going into Houston. She made a real real run at it, didn’t she? She started 34th on the leaderboard that day and ended up just missing out really on what proved to be the winning target. Yeah, you’re fine. You can knock this in. She eagled 12 yesterday. Oh, yeah. This will take her to 12 under part. [Music] I’m finished then. Yeah. Yeah, you’re good. [Laughter] So, minus 12. I mean, seven back. Yeah. But significantly, she she starts just over 318 points behind Mimi Roads in the Order of Merit. If she can try and get second place, even that’ll be worth 320 points. Roads is going to get some points herself. She’s inside the top 20, but it will close the gap fairly significantly. [Music] Pier Babnick just waiting for the the train to go by. It’s very close on the back edge of this 11th hole. Back into the slope here. Four over par around just made double on 10. [Music] [Applause] spoke about her consistency. It’s not been the case on this fourth round. Three bogeies, a double and only one birdie. Yeah, once upon a time she was the teenage star on the ladies European tour, winning twice at the age of 17. Pierre Babnik finished second on the order of merit four years ago just being asked by Hinsson Tolshark to move her marker. It’s 23 year old from Perth like you said just outside the top 50 on the order of merit. So it’s been a good start to her career over in Europe. It’s for birdie. Yeah, she missed the first three cuts of the year. Hson Tolshot. She has made every cut since 12 in a row. Very impressive. And here is the comeback story. Jana Melova putting together a terrific round. nicely in position for another look at birdie. She’s had six so far today. [Music] Looking for a second top 10 of the year. Babnik going out in the second to last group and it is unraveling for the Slovenian. Needs to take care of this one inside left. Oh, at the moment in a share of 15th place. Just dropped a shot at 13. Has Kiara Tambellini. So she’s at seven under. Fancy this one from the ups slope. Oh, just jammed it. Easily done on this grass. peeping through the uh the potted plants which are at the back of every tea. 210 carries the bunker wind from left to right. Composed. poised and it appears destined for a first win on tour. We shall see. [Applause] [Music] It’s good that it’s found the fairway because you’re only pitching it into that back pin. So, you’re going to be landing it on some down grain. You’d like that bit of check. You’re looking at that TV tower just to the right edge of the green. The dough has been dominant off the tea, gaining two shots on every single round. See how close she can get to this green. 284 it is, but it plays 10 down the hill. She’s a fabulous ball striker, isn’t she, Nancy? She’s got one of my favorite swings on tour. It’s compact, but there’s a fluidity to it as well. Well, she’s had a runner-up finish this year that came in Belgium behind Darcy Harry. Here’s Melova at the moment in a share of sixth place. Yeah, stay there. How good a performance is this? Her first event since last year’s Lasassa Open. Absolutely. Took some time off with a back issue and then had to have surgery, which is not what you want. So, the surgery came and then she had a well, she’s not played four rounds. This is the first four round event that she’s had. She played a couple of three rounders. Good save in the end from Tambina. Yet she’s enjoying playing four rounds though by the look of it. Meova, she’s four under par today which is up there with as good as anybody. She might not be able to win that trophy, but I’ll tell you what, she’ll feel like she’s won given what she is doing today. Melova there alongside Alisandra Finale in a share of sixth place. But the main story is the story that has been happening really since Thursday afternoon when Anna Huang shot a round of 64. She has set the pace ever since and at the moment it doesn’t look like they’re going to catch her. The 16-year-old leads by four. [Music] Patricia Schmidt with an eagle at the 12th. So a couple under today. Laura Beverage just sticking in that top 10. Mine second best of the Spanish contingent. 13 Spanish players in the field. One amateur. And hasn’t she done well? Karolina Lopez Chakara. She’ll be turning pro later this year. May well see her fulltime on the Ladies European tour next season. And there is the defending champion, Helen Bream. 71, tied 34th. She’s in the top 10 of the rankings at the moment, Sophie, but she’d have been hoping for better this week. She would have done maybe a slightly different Helen Bream in terms of confidence this week. Wasn’t too sure about the driver. And this is a course that you need to hit it straight on. Finale has just not got the hang of these greens this week. Her pace hasn’t been quite there. Yeah, she had two birdies and no drop shots yesterday. And that’s one birdie and no drop shots so far today. This is the final group at the park for 11th. Look how close to the green and the dough is. One will have a what? Full shot though from back here. Don’t think it’ll be full. I still think it’s a a pitch. It can’t be much more than 60 yards really. The line looks a little bit bare. It rolls its way from low to high to a back right pin. And you want to be landing it maybe 10 yards short of the pin. Even though it’s uphill, it’s down grain. So you’ll get the release. So land this at 50. Decided to take it up top. Carried it a touch too far there. Yeah, we should stress she has never been in this position before, leading in a professional event on the Ladies European tour. Yeah, look down that 11th hole where the leading three ball. So hang an outside chance of birdie was down this right hand side is a lot closer. I mean pins on 25. This can’t be more than a 35 yd pitch. But she’s got to come over the side of this green. The angle’s not quite as great. 257 on the left. It’ be easy for this to to roll around and kind of miss down the right hand side. Leaves it up top though. At least it’s on the right level. Par five 12th and for Laura Beverage some really important holes coming up. No birdie though at 12. She’s hanging in side the top 10 at the moment tied for eighth. If she stays there she’ll get into next week’s French Open where Neans do now be one of the stars. She doesn’t finish top 10. That’s pretty much a ladies European tour season over. It didn’t have full status and then there’s limited fields coming after the French. So we head over to Asia. Dogs are getting excited, aren’t they? See how she plays this one. Hand it on the middle step. Pitch and run. She tried to. She’s been chipping so well this week and just not quite there. It’s crazy cuz it’s uphill but then it’s down grain and you just can’t get your head around it. [Music] Made eagle here yesterday. Ar just a par today. Level par for the round. D will be frustrated. There was a chance to get one in close there. And she didn’t get it inside of Anna Hang’s there. So, she’s actually missed the green. It’s like a let off. She can’t really afford to let her off being four back. Sorry, Richard. No, I was just going to say apparently that put we saw from the other the graphics said birdie put, but it was actually an eagle putt again. She knocked it as close as she did yesterday. So, that was for an eagle. She two putts though unfortunately today for a birdie. So she’s up to eight under par now. But yeah, this is a an important shot for for Nastasia opting in for the putter. We saw Lauren Walsh do that from the back of the 10th hole. And what happens here is you almost hit the ball into the ground and then it has a little jump. So pace can be an issue. Just trying to judge that. Just looking a little bit to the right of the hole as well. But this one is all about the speed. Contact and speed. Well, when you drive it so close to the green, frustration can build. Certainly will do for Nidau if Anna Huang then goes and knocks her putt in. Sorry, can you imagine? Far from putting pressure on the leader. Maybe Eastings a little up to 12. Hinton Tolsh with the hybrid 200 yard shot. Oh, that’s unlucky. Just hit into the ups slope there. That’s 5 yds left. It finds the green. Well, this would give her a really good cushion heading into the closing stretch. and one outside right and slow. Winning score last year was 18 under pass. She’s already at minus 19. [Applause] 69 yesterday after opening up with rounds of 64 and 66. And believe it or not, she’s 16, but there have been four players winning on the Ladies European tour. Younger than she is right now. Some famous names amongst them. Going with a long eye into this front pin on 12. That one died into the fringe as well. Hit hybrid in yesterday. Converted it for eagle maybe in between there. That five iron not quite getting the release that she would have liked, but maybe the miss is short on 12 with that front pin. Well, there’s a lot of break on this one. Four cups. Keep the pace up. [Music] Oh, sideways. Yeah, you see how much the grain grabs the ball at the moment. Fifth on the leaderboard, which would take her I make it up to 11th on the rankings. As it stands, it’s Nura Aturio and Nastasia Nado who will be moving into the top 10 at the expense of Pin Deor and Darcy Harry who are the players in ninth and 10th place on the rankings. Maddie looking to chip this one in. A look on the way by the simplest of birdies for the Aussie. Yeah, which will take her to third on her own at 13 under. She’s playing with Shannon Tan who may well get up and down herself at that par five. Well, these are becoming must-made putts. basically for Nstazzy and Nadau. Yeah, you don’t want must make for par though when you’re chasing. However, that’s what she’s got right now. See the darkness of the color of the grain? That means this one will be really slow. That’s a slight misread. Well, that is a costly error from the French player. Such a dream start to this round. Birded the first two holes. Just what she wanted. got within one and with that bogey five she is now five a drift of an up to the order of merit leader Mimi Rose for birdie on the very difficult 13th hole chance to get your own back [Applause] just outside the top 10 at the moment. Mimi Roads. Three wins this season. Came in the first half of the campaign. Three wins it was in four starts when she won in the Netherlands. Look at that lead now for Anna Huang. [Music] A dream leaderboard as far as the Canadian is concerned. That drop shot from Nadau taking her down to 14 under. And Hinsson Tolshard maybe closing in on that second place. Shannon Tan looking to get up and down join her at 13 under. There is roads in that group at six under par including Kirsten Rudley who bases herself not far from here in Valencia when she’s in Europe. often plays around this Lassa Golf Resort. Shannan’s been here over a week, chose not to play in Switzerland, so flew over to say a resort early. Looking at a putt from off the green, but it is for Eagle. It’s front pin on 12. The easiest hole on the golf course. Three Eagles already today. So should be a birdie to match Hinsson Tolshard. So that will take Shannon Tan to 13 under. They both played the 12th very nicely. Let’s look how you should be doing it with Sophie. the par five 12th hole. Do not go down the right hand side with your T-shot. We’ve got trees and a penalty area on that right hand side. Even down the right half of the fairway is not a good leave because we have that tall tree ahead which blocks you out. A dog leg from left to right. So, you want to be looking down this left half. There’s a white dot here that’s 235 yards off the tea. and 216 yards to the front of the green. Anywhere from here and closer, it’s go time. So, keep it down the left. But oh yeah, there are some trees down this left hand side that you might need to maneuver one into that green 195 from that first tree. So, why don’t we give it a go off the T-OT? Don’t go right with your second shot. Don’t go right. There is a penalty area that runs all the way down this right hand side. It is dry. You might be able to play one out of there, but I wouldn’t advise it. Also, there’s a steep slope and bunkers on the right hand side. So, off the 12th, if you want to make the most of this par five, keep it down the left half. Well, let’s see if they uh heed such advice. What a position right now for Anna Huang. Oh, that’s right. Clatters the trees. Which way has it gone? Oh, it’s just dropped. It’s dropped between trees and fairway. That was lucky. Yeah, better to drop down left of the trees than naturally right of them. Barely this hole every day. And that’ be okay down there. Although it did sit down as I said that up on the green for birdie. Well, a step closer moves to minus3 tied for third now alongside Hinson Tolshard. Nope. I mean, she’s just dropped a shot from 40 yards short of that pin on the last. That practice swing was aggressive. Yesterday, she hit eight iron into this 12th hole. This drive is getting the treatment. She hates it. No, it’s dry over there. Hands up, but it’s down the right hand side towards that penalty area. Might be okay. Michelle Hakatti there saying it might be okay. We can’t guarantee that at the moment. You can see where they’re pointing. Well, mistake off the tea from Anna Hang. Maybe a bit of light there for Nastasia Nadau, but she has made an error herself. One leading by five. Well, we’re very close to Denia, which is in a UNESCO city of gastronomy, renowned for preserving Mediterranean culinary culture. Well, some of the players this week joined in with the gastronomical game here this week with the Pyella challenge and they had a little bit of fun along the way as we’ll see here. This is stressing me out. She loves tracks. Should we go ahead and start ballet? Two, three minutes. Chef Flames, babes burning them. They’re good. They’re good. That’s all right. It says they need to be brown. Brown. It’s giving like hell’s kitchen. Wait, let me turn it down. Get the meat in. Okay, mama. No. Woo. It’s hot. Good job, Da. Doing great. Look at her technique. Be aggressive. Move it on. Get in there. All right. Next step. This looks great. That looks really special. Thank you. So, rice is the last thing. What about the patterns? They’re going to Yeah. Mix, mix, gently, gently. Wa. When it catches the bottom of the pa pan, it’s called sakarat. If you burn it, it will ruin the whole rice. You see more stress from the pen. Oh Oh, listen to it now. Perfect. We’re done. Oh, I’m nervous. Is it good? Nice. Nice. Cheers. Great job. It smells good, right? Smells good. It looks good. We didn’t We didn’t get any of the leftovers though, did we? It’s a bit of a shame. Yeah. Well, two down the right side. You can see where Anna Huang is. She’s just by that tree. But how far right and how big trouble for Nastasia Nadau? That was just a layup. 222 yds to the front, but you’re looking at keeping it down the left hand side of a bunker at 85 yds short. So, no more than 150 here. Good layup from Anna Fuang. Now we’re going to answer the question is how bad a position is Nastasia Nadau in the drivers out. She’s going to be taking a drop from that right hand side. See her doing her two club lengths now. The crowd saw it go in. Saw the exact spot it went in. So, a penalty drop here. And how straightforward a third shot will it be? I don’t think she can get there. I mean, she’s going to have to cut this 40 50 yards. I mean, she’s, you know, she’s in range in terms of it’s what 180 probably to the front of this. But this is a great shot. That drone that that that tree that final tree means it’s impossible. She’s got to play out left. put it near Hang’s ball down that left hand side, left of the bunker and try and get it up and down. You think she’s found the penalty area on eight and 12 and after, as you say, getting down from four from what, 35 yds at the last hole? Yeah, she’s thrown a few away, hasn’t she? I mean, in these last five holes, nothing short of a nightmare for the possible to get it out that tree. Yeah, he’s looked. I mean, the drop’s not even got her out onto a nice spot, has it? [Applause] Huang’s kind of opened the door a tiny little bit there and she’s she might not have been in the Do you think she’s past the penalty area? Why could she? I can see her ball there. Drop. Yeah, she can maybe even play that out. I think that’s what she’s thinking. Yeah, maybe. Maybe she hasn’t actually taken the drop yet. She was just measuring out with driver to see. Is that ball in hand? Yeah. Yeah. [Music] You have to say with that her outside chances have just diminished. I mean that’s Yes, you can. Yeah. What happens, isn’t it? You know, Anna hits it down the right, gets a bit of a break, spits it out. Nau hits it right, finishes in the penalty area. You need a bit of luck to win. [Music] While that goes on, we’ll pop over to the 16th hole at the back of the green. Fast parts. Is it going to get there though? It will not for Melova. Should be loving the walk, mind you. Walsh quickly with her second skips the bunker. That didn’t fly, did it? Out the Bermuda down the left hand side. Got lucky there. It’s all happening down this 12th hole. I mean, the last few days it seemed to be quite simple. My explanation on the Sophie’s way to play has been irrelevant until now. But you were right. Don’t go right. And look at the ball there. It’s not even sitting pretty is it? That’s I mean it’s lay up. You see just pitch out. Leave herself you know 100 yards to the front. A little bit left from that line. Just on that camera finishing. Well, all this really playing into the hands of the leader, Anna Huang. So, they’re in three by Anna Hang’s ball who’s there in two. Testing power up part for Melova. Pass the test. Yeah, really good. Really good two from the back there on 16. This back right pin really stretches out. 13 421 yds. This one’s going to be played with some left to right under the trees. Oh, hits the tree. That just shows you, you know, you hit the fairway on 13, but if you hit the right side, that’s what she had to face. The right side’s the wrong side. Yeah. On 12 and 13. [Music] So set back for Tan and it just shows you some of the hurdles that Anna Hang has to face. Five shot lead. She won’t be feeling like this is done by a long way. Very well us sitting in the commentary box saying she’s edging closer. I wonder if she realizes how far ahead she is as well. And what a walk for dad there by her side, Alex. She plays her in third at this par five, 88 y. It’s not been convincing, has it, down this 12th hole, but she’s safely aboard. Yeah, I saw a little bit this down the stretch yesterday. Not at her best, but it didn’t disturb the lead. It remained intact. She led by three coming into the halfway stage and still led by three at the end of day three. Well, if she can get up and down, she uh at least might not fall further a drift. Nasty do. The layup’s in a good spot. She’s found the fairway. Yeah, she’s on the fairway. There she goes. found up 84 yds front pin a hair of downwind. So this should be a 3/4 54 and it’s a good number if or she hits the full lob wedge. It’s depending on how she is feeling right now. Looks like she’s got the lob wedge in her hand. So expect this one to stop quickly. Well, she went into the penalty area at eight when in the water there. Made a really good five. Gone into the penalty area here. Hopefully a putter can help her out and make another good five. But it’s slipping through her fingers right now. Nasty looking for her first ladies European tour win. In fact, all three players in this final group had yet to win on the le say that’s the hardest one. That first win while she’s been in position a couple of times. Wouldn’t say that she would go into this final round thinking she had a a really good chance though just by how far behind she was of her two playing partners. Just getting the golf balls marked here. So about 50 yds front, 60 yds pin. Sat. Okay. Still wants to land it short of this flag though. [Applause] Nicely played from Walsh. Still only been one Irish winner on tour. That’s Leona Maguire last year at the London club playing three. Not often we see this is it. Shannon Tan missed green for two attempts with irons, but that 13th hole over 20 double bogeies this week. Back to the Laura Beverage story. The Scott has this for 32 at 14. Just dropped a shot as well at 13. So she’s outside the top 10 now. Tied 11th. Pressure building. You feel? [Music] Felt like she’s been playing really well all season. In fact, her scoring average is the best she says she’s had on tour. She hadn’t played nine events, hasn’t she? She hasn’t got in too much. And just needs that one good finish. Birdie put left to right. [Music] Lovely effort from Anna Huang, but it’s just another hole ticked off. And might think with a par five, you might lose some progress here at 12, but as it stands, not going to be an issue for Huang. It’s going to be at least a five shot lead for her. She might not have felt comfortable on 12, but nowhere near as uncomfortable as her closest competitor in the dough. laying the face open. Very nice there by Hinton Tolsh trying to make park. Grabbed a slice of luck by having that hybrid pop out of the bunker. So, pitched it onto here. But this one will have bit of movement on it. Be down the hill as well. Well, not a birdie between them in this final group. Mad older’s been given away plenty of birdies. in the odd e good as well from the high side. Wander this one down the slope and rattle it home. Great two there. She’s had a few birdie twos this week. That’s the first of the day, but on Friday, wasn’t it? She birdied all the par threes. So, Arfield back to eight under par. Incredible. She’s had four bogeies today. Alpha, every time she’s made a bogey, she’s followed it with a birdie. Seems to be standing over parots where we keep saying you must make this. She missed out on 11 from slightly closer than this firm left edge. Oh, pushed it. That’s the weakness. That’s the Achilles heel of Nadau. That push down the right hand side. We saw it off the tea and we’ve seen it on the putting surface. Well, mind the gap. Six shot lead. Six holes to play for Ana Huang after those backto- back bogeies for Nadau. Tough hole coming next, but that’s a nice cushion to have. [Music] Shannon Tan has got that left for her par on that 13th hole. So we go from the easiest hole on the golf course 12 to the hardest par for 13th. There’s confirmation of that six shot lead now for Anna Huang. Now those backto-back bogeies mean she has been caught by Shannon Tan and Madison Hinsson Tolshard in second place. But right now, I think it’s fair to say we’re on the verge of seeing the first ever Canadian winner on the LE. [Music] [Music] Well, I said that she’d been caught in the dough, but that’s as long as this goes in. [Music] First bogey of the day for Maddie. Four birdies, one bogey. Slips back to 12 under par. Still looking like putting on her best performance of the year. She had a top 10 in Tenneref as a continuity to that course and this one. 17th par three catching up again with Jana Melova. Another lengthy birdie putt. A good try. She called it a long year. Had minor surgery on her disc herniations. Some of the surgeons actually told her they wanted to do spinal surgery. Thankfully, she didn’t need that. Saw Shannon Tan go through the back of the green here in three. Ups and downs for a bogey five. So Nido is on her own again in second place. It’s been a real treat again, hasn’t it, Sophie, being here on this golf resort. Very much enjoyed it. The fact that we’re all staying on site, hotel, swimming pool, driving range, first tea, that’s not a bad order, is it? On the hills there. That isn’t the 11th. That’s the 13th T. Slightly cut out. You want to be left half if you can. [Applause] That’s where you want to be, right where Walsh is. 421 yds back into a touch of wind and you know stood on that T- box that if you don’t find that left half of the fairway or even left fringe you won’t be hitting this green into Nau now six back just made bogey bogey. [Applause] It’s her ball safely down there next to the leaders. Lauren Walsh in position. Another 20 30 yards down that left hand side. the 3wood off the teeth and the dope, do you think she can enjoy the walk now? Anna Fang, I mean, how aware do you think of the scores is she? I mean, she’s playing with Nazzi and Ado and would have known at the start of the day that it’s it’s likely to be a jewel between them. your thought process. You never want to concentrate on anybody else, but she’ll know that she’s beating her score, I assume. You know, it would be an interesting um question to say who took whose card on that first hole. I’d want the doze off the back of the bogey at 13. Tan this one. 171 yd par three. Clicking the fingers wants it to sit down. Oh, because she knows that’s on the wrong level. Maybe because there’s a little bit of turn in in that flight there. That seven I gathered a few more yards than she’d have wanted. Chase is really on for second place though for her now given what Nudau is doing. Elova hopefully going to knock this in. The goal at the start of the week for her after a year away is try and make the cut. I mean, she’s on route here to finish top 10. And it more importantly walking freely. Doesn’t look like the back’s causing much issue. Can use a back stop slightly beyond this pin. Stop that flag. Only nine on in good position here. Kiara Tambellini at 16. She’s birded 15 as well. So up to a share of sixth place. Front pin here. She came up shy on the 14th par three and has done the same there on 16 the par four. went for the hard shot rather than the easy and clubbing up. Not yet won this season. Kiara Tam, but on route to finish in the top 10 for the ninth time this season, more than anybody else. She’s last year’s number one. This is the current number one on the L. and has had a good fight back. Really was on the cut line Friday afternoon until a good back nine. Kind of lost the game early on the front line, but found it. It’s almost been inspired by Tambolin, as she said, last year’s performance showing that a rookie can go out there and and win. Well, Kiara won three times. Mimi is won three times as well. There’s uh five more events left on the season after this week. The French Open come straight off the back. So Bango will make their way from Lasassa to France. 35% green in regulation this hole. It’s one of the lowest I’ve ever seen on the Ladies European tour. Hit driver off the tea, but it’s back into the wind. Back pin. 421 yds. Trying to cut this fairway wood from left to right. That was close to doing it. Good fivewood there. [Music] Not one of those you might fancy chipping in this for [Music] good tempo. See the shot. What wind there is, we’ll be coming back into her face. A hair from the left. Flag 31 on six from the right. It’s on its own tabletop on that right hand side. So, anything short or left of it will grab a slope and move further away. No. Oh, he’s caught tree trying to cut across that five iron and overdid it. That could be back towards those golf carts. Well, what a depressing spell this has been for Nstansia Nadau. finished top five in her last two events. Felt every department. Her game was in fine fetal. Got off to the start she was looking for with a couple of birdies, but it’s just going from bad to worse right now for the French player. Even where she was, she had to move it from left to right. It was a harder shot than it looked on camera. This is the spot to be. Another 20, 30 yards down the fairway to the left, opening up a back right pin. see anything on the green gets a round of applause there on 13. I said onethird of the field have found this green in regulation. It’s just been proved there in the final group. Tricky old putt this one for Shannon Tan down the hill. Clicking about a third of the way through the putt. You can see why. I mean, how do you get that to stop short? That was a That was the most aggressive click we’ve heard today. I don’t blame her really. She was worried. Over at 16, Tambellini. Delightful. You could see that club get stuck in the ground there, but she kept it moving. Refused to have it stop on her. This one won’t be quite as quick. [Music] Backto back bogeies for Shannon Tan. We’re in her chance to really close the gap on Mimi Roads at the top of the order of merit. [Music] Spot the golfer. Oh dear. Oh, she’s snookered, isn’t she? Really? I don’t know what what her back swing will even be being a righthander here. 82 42 82 82. Well, we’ve seen a few in these trees, haven’t we, this week? And we’ve seen a few clattering amongst them trying to get it through. We got 90 yards. Overhanging bit of that little tree like over there. Okay, her back swing’s fine. Careful. I suppose you want you pick out a gap again. You move that cart. Sorry. We both got And the cart further up as well needs to go. Oh, she’s going right. Yeah. There is a bank, isn’t there? Over the top of that cart path. You can’t really hit that much left. You see that edge where that guy’s head see the two guys that are just at the edge of the pack. Yeah. Yeah. Exactly. Uh not that one. I mean uh you guys could all get hit by the ball. Michelle Thompson on the bag for Nastasia Nadau. Ladies European tour player herself. What’s that? Let me just double check. I think it’s just really Michelle’s on her way. What? to check out how how the land lies because if you’re going to like chip out or play to the side, you better hope that your your next shot is in a position to get up and down, you know, blindsided as well. Just up there. It’s pretty high out there. You don’t want to be running around. Well, got to be careful of this tree trunk on this right hand side as well because from Pine Straw, there’s no predictability on how it’s going to come out. It normally comes out quite soft. She’s got 90 yards pin. I think she’s going to try and land this around the 80 yards and hit the bank and hope it gets a little bounce. Yeah. from looking up at Anna Hang now looking over her shoulder. Okay. The players that might catch her in second place and deny her a spot at the end of this event in the top 10 of the rankings. Needs to keep her foot in here as well. That’s good. Oh, that really does. Magical golf shot by Nastasia do. Oh, wow. Well, that’ll pick you up. Well, they thought it through and she delivered big time there. I think you give her what, 100 balls, she wouldn’t get any closer than this. Look at that start line. It just nips around that pine tree. Wow. stops in the Bermuda, then releases down. Love the reaction. Love the reaction. She’s been down in the dumps. It’s been nothing more than doom and gloom and suddenly you show your talent. You need a little bit of luck as well, but a lot of talent, too. And those chasing her in second place are taking some backward steps like Shannon Tan. Backto back bogeies for Hinsson Tolshot. That front pin on 14 is causing havoc. Oh, that was wonderful, wasn’t it? So good to see. Doesn’t look like Anna Hang’s going to stretch her lead. Then again, she may fancy chipping this one in. She knows there’s some movement from right to left. See those shadows just down that way? That’s where she’s looking to pitch this in. [Music] Hit it. It was a a six shot lead with six to play. Remember, she’s only had one bogey this week and a [Music] level par for the day. Finale’s not had the weekend move she’d have wanted. Another one who could jump into the top 10 of the rankings if she could just find some more putts. I know you did too. Yes. [Music] Lauren Walsh now finding a shelf in a share of third place. It is a birdie putt. It’s got the same put as her Wake Forest teammate Mimi Roads had on this hole. It will shift from right to left. It’s a really good look at how much this is going to move. Could never send it high enough. Well, who would think after their second shot that the nearest after three here would be Nado? Extraordinary, isn’t it? golf sometimes to 16. Last week’s winner, Alice Houston. Yeah, faulted a little today. She must have heard you. I’ll stick that one close. I’ll show him. Yeah. Well, she did join us in commentary earlier this week. Was a pleasure to have Alice with us yesterday. Media Gaba yesterday. Alice earlier this week. Well, there haven’t been too many errors this week from Anafang. That’s how you lead by six. But this to avoid a second bogey of the week. I thought that would move. That was a good pop. There’s a little bit left on that one as well. Coming back. should be very much within her grasp. I mean, you take a five shot lead with five to play, wouldn’t you? Yeah. But, you know, there was a expectation there that in the terms of match play, she’d be winning the hole and that’s not been the case. Yeah. You thought she might go seven ahead. This is a Where is Oh my goodness me. Fel in a horrible place. She couldn’t go at the pin cuz she wouldn’t have been able to get the club into the back there. That’s unlucky. Really unlucky. Well, we’re seeing a lot of bogeies at the moment, aren’t we? Well, it’s this run, isn’t it? This is the 13th hole is the hardest hole on the golf course. Then you got the fifth hardest hole, the fourth hardest hole, and the sixth hardest hole. This is your run of four where par puts are worth their weight in gold. Yeah, well done Lauren Walsh. See, there’s a bit of Irish support out there. Wherever you go in the world, there’s always some Irish fans cheering on Lauren or Leona Magguire. And there are now a really good Irish contingent on the le. There was plenty of French voices on that first heat today. The day got the biggest of the cheers. She’s still waiting to hold her papa. I take it there’s not too many Canadians here. Never been many Canadians on the ladies European tour. In fact, Anna’s the first Canadian to be on the le in in a decade. [Music] Okay, no problem. It is a drop shot though. Back to 18 under. And thanks to Nidau’s brilliance, the lead goes, it seems from six to five. Yeah. The last Canadian to play on tour, she didn’t play many events, was Aram Choy back in 2016. Well, there’s that support you were talking about up and down of the week of her life. Look at the smile. And she needed something like that really because it had been a horrible spell for her. Yeah. An unforced errors. I think that’s what she’ll be more annoyed with. But when she was up against it and she had to hit a shot with creativity almost where you’re not thinking what position you are on this leaderboard, she did it. So we’ll be bouncing to 14. Now this up at 18. Jana Melova trying to put the finishing touches to the dream comeback here. [Applause] I believe that was a birdie putt for the Czech player. Well, just a second bogey in 67 holes at Laa Golf here this week for Anna Huang. hardly panic stations. But while she made bogey, Nadau made the dream par from the trees. She’s back firmly in charge of second place. Wang in charge of first ahead by five. [Music] Oh, with a regulation par. Lauren Walsh first to go. Plays 168 68. Sorry. With the down slope didn’t cut. Oh, and it stayed up in the thick stuff. [Applause] He’s trying to chop the legs off that sixiron there and get that face square. Well, Nadau can do no more than try and put one close in over at 14. Meanwhile, at 18, Harry with a lovely eagle. Been a disappointing day for the Welsh player, but that’s a nice way to finish in eagle three. So around a 75 from her just outside the top 30. Back to the T at 14. He’s been hitting eight iron into this front pin. This one will have to be flushed. Maybe the adrenaline will be flowing to get there. Plays downwind downhill. pretty good. [Music] Just hasn’t convinced on the greens when we’ve seen her. An Alisandra finale. Yeah, annoyingly for Alli, seems like it’s just been the pace. The line’s been good. looking to ease across this one from left to right. Started at the middle of the green. That was well struck. Be a quick put, but it was a good shot in charge. Well, after the problems out of the bunker, Chip has this for a double bogey. Kaiser off of here. This is a costly hole for her. That sums up the back nine in general, doesn’t it? How volatile it is. Come on, Jana. Knock it in. Finish off your first week back in style. Well done. Welcome back, Yana Melico. What a fantastic effort that is after a year away. She is going to finish inside the top 10. She will be absolutely delighted. Well, she said that she missed us. We’ve missed you. Great performance there. Yeah. Two-time winner on tour. Alice is a now a threetime winner. Houston remains at three and a part. So Kiara Tambellini heading for another top 10 which will see her pick up a few more Soheim Cup points less than a year now to we tear it up at Bernard’s golf club. I know you’re all caught got your thoughts about the Ryder Cup but it is less than a year to the Soulheim Cup and Tambolina hole in the automatic spots. Lotty W the world number 11 leading the world rankings list for Anna Norquist team. Four picks for Europe’s captain. And here’s how the US team looks right now. Line VU getting some much needed form if you like in the latest event on the LPGA tour. That’s been where the hit. Angel Yin and Nelly Cer leading the points list. Angela Stanford will have three picks. And uh if you want to be at uh the next Soheim Cup in a year’s time at Bernard’s Golf Club in the Netherlands, get your phone out, scan that QR code, and we look forward to seeing you there. Oh, that’s a great view of what Walsh has got to face down the slide. Keep it left. Go. Oh, it’s got stuck into the grain. She’s going to be left with a treacherous pot there to be so delicate with it. Would have been easy to chip that one off the green. R31 17th Tambolini successful car. Yeah. Unbelievable consistency from her this year. Heading for a ninth top 10. Big money this week. 1 million pound 1 million rather prize fund. £150,000 to the winner. Bear in mind the amount that Anna Hang has won as a professional this year is just over $40,000. So she will be pretty much quadrupling her annual earnings if she were to go on and do the business here. Saw the p from Shannon Tam from a little further away. How quick this is. Oh, it helps that she’s literally got to get this one started. You want to be looking to hit this 2 ft maximum just down that right side. There she comes. Oh, she’s holding [Music] skipping a jump there. She was excited as that one went in. First birdie of the back nine and another big step to victory for this teenage sensation. The lead is back to six shots. Tricky putt, but she’s made everything look so easy this week. I’m flustered and with a touch to die for. Love that reaction. That was the first bit of reaction we’ve seen where there was an air of excitement to that put dropping. Nearly by one. I mean it that is some move because we’ve just been talking about this 14th green how hard that front right pin is. Well, at least she’s avoided half of Fel territory. Not that it’s too pretty there. on the doe’s in the best spot. We’ve had a handful of twos on 14 and I dare say most of them would have come from where Nastasia is now, not where Anna Huang has just hold her breaking put. So here we go for a two. [Music] started to go well, didn’t she? Two under through two, but since then has dropped three shots. Yeah, the thought process must be now that obviously she’s going to try her best and you never know what might happen, but it’s a case now of don’t lose second spot. There’s other boxes to tick here. And with a second runner up finish, he’ll go a long way to getting that top 10 finish on the Ladies European tour this season in the rankings. Well, the message is don’t go long, Maddie. That’s good. The thing is with the the tan shot in, it’s it’s nearly pin high. It’s just turned over. So that’s why it’s found the bunker there. Pile 31 17th for Mimi Roads. Oh, right at it. Well, with Tan slipping down and roads potentially pushing up, she might be able to maintain much of her lead at the top of the order of merit. Oh dear, he’s on a bogey run. Boed 13 and 14 and has got that to avoid a bogey on 15 for Shannon Tan. Well, that trophy it seems destined for a kid really. She’s a school girl. She’s been doing homework this week while others have been putting in the practice and then sitting by the pool. Anna Huang striding it seems to victory here. And I suppose now within her sights is the biggest winning margin of the season. That is six shots by Lotty W in Ireland. [Music] There is Mimi Road who could not that put in at 17 get herself into that share of 10th place. Laura Beverage by the way still tied 10th. It’s Nip and Tuck whether she’s going to get herself in next week. Was that 24 cuts in a row made by Emma Spitz now? Hasn’t missed a cut since last year’s Lasa Open. [Music] that eagle finish from Darcy Harry was for a 75. There’s Helen Bream, the defending champion. 71 to close out 66. She closed it with last year here to win. I mean, she was 19. Helenbury veteran compared to Anna Huang. It’s 15th green. It It sits across you. It’s quite narrow and it’s that Shannon has come unstuck from right to left. It’s three bogeies in a row. Couple of missed greens and a three put there in that run of three holes. It’s looking so good. Birded 11 and 12. That’s Finale at 16. Hidden by the trees. Into the bunker she goes. Oh, Canada. Are you watching Brook Henderson leading the way on the LPGA Tour? The most winning player from Canada, but there’s never been a winner in the circle here on the LE. I suppose you could c count Brook Henderson’s win at at Evian 3 years ago, which is officially a ladies European tour event. It’s only 334 yards this 15th hole, but haven’t seen a whole lot of birdies indecision off the tea and players are struggling to find the green. Just half the field of found 15 green kabori missed the green left on the par three 17th opted for a putting from here right to left [Applause] snakes back at the end. She is having the most ridiculous of nine holes. She’s had one par. She’s thrown in a double four bogeies and now a third birdie. Look at that scorecard. All adds up to three over par. It’s pretty boring through seven holes, wasn’t it? It made up for it since. Wonder what we’re going to get at 18. Well, if anything like a brother did at the belfry, it’ll be another long put, won’t it? He hold two corkers coming in there. We’re watching Shannon Tan and Mimi Roads down the stretch here. Roads and uh Tan getting a little closer now on the leaderboard at that 17th hole. Roads has got a birdie butt to come. Nine of the top 10 started the week here this week and all of them made the cut. But looks like Darcy Harry and Pin Deor are going to slip outside the top 10 because Nuria Turio as it stands is going to jump from 12th to 10th and Nstania Adau is going to jump from 13th up to seventh. And by the way with a win and a hang I make it would go up to 22nd on the rankings. Four holes left. Fairway wood striped straight down the middle there down downhill this hole. Really downhill especially from kind of 200 yds off the tea and down which is why you see them hitting fairway wood. So at least they can find a well as reasonably flat part as possible. The gap from second to third is two shots. Gap to Anna Hang is six. Want to hug the trees down the left hand side here. dog leg that way. Oh, caught a lie there. One over for the back nine for Lauren Walsh. It’s kind of the same type of Sunday as we saw last week at the Swiss Open, but she did finish strongly, so be hoping to do that here. He’s trying to whip this one round from right to left. Back into some wind. [Applause] Back up to the 16th and finale found the bunker. [Applause] Great shot in here by Roads. This for a two on the 17th. Steps it in. Moves to six under par and well inside the top 10. So progress for Mimi Rose so for Kaiser Arfield who’s already played one from the sand here. So this a full shot now at this par four. expensive couple of holes it’s turning out to be for the entertaining Swedish rookie. Voted by the players as the best tournament on the LD in 2023 and last year it was voted as the best for players services. It’s fair to say the players on the LD love being at Laaya. Yeah, the gym, the ice bath and the sauners have been getting I understand even commentate. Oh, Alice. Boo. I understand even the commentators might have had the odd ice bath. I did today. Yeah, I was watching Ali finale. After every round, she would go into the to the ice bath. So, I thought I’ll give that a go. This air con, you know, Laura Beverage at the moment in a tie for 10th. So that was a birdie putt for her at 16. I mean it’s going to be touch and go for her. Wouldn’t book the flight just yet to France, but she’s seventh reserve as well. So it’s unlikely from that she would get in without finishing top 10 here. Well, Roads has moved up, but Arthur Fwell is going to move down. So that 18th hole, pick up a birdie there. We’re on 15 though with this final group. And it’ll be Lauren Walsh to play first. And look how downhill it is. So it’s plays 10 yards down the hill. She’s coming in from that down slope. 129 yds to the flag, but plays 119. This green sits diagonally from front left to back right as we see on that graphic there. So 19 on is actually level with that back bunker which is why it’s been so popular wedge for Walsh. just tiptoes over the bunker. couple of yards closer for Anna Hong like so many has turned it over and found that left bunker. She dropped a shot here yesterday. Finale for Par and like so many other putts we’ve seen from her not to beat. So she drops one back to six under par for her. was looking at her stats for her putting over these last three days and it’s she doesn’t gain and she doesn’t lose. So, it’s almost like it’s not that dramatic to want to change something. But if you’re in contention, you’d expect one of the days to have been a really good strokes gain two or three on the field. She’s just so level at it. So, for me, if you’re contending, she’s losing to the people at the top of the leaderboard. [Applause] at this lie. This is a flyer lie. It’s sat up 104. Plays half a club down the hill. Keep your weight on the left hand side. [Applause] Very nicely done. So finding a spot of bother, albeit she is leading by six. Three holes to play after this one. Half a felt to avoid a double bogey. Ouch. Backto back double bogey sixes. That is not a pleasant walk. It’s quite a long one to the 17th team. You know, if you’re inside the top 10 this week, you’re earning over 20,000 euro. This is a big money event. Well, she is fully aware of the situation. Laura Beverage. Few more good hits and she’ll be off to France. Settle. That’s one. Yeah, French Open being played in Doville next week at G Barier. Gives you an idea of how downhill that second shot was. Yeah, they decide to lay up top, but Blanka Fernandez has been hitting driver down there and chipping it on to 15. So shows the different ways of playing this hole. This is the popular spot. You can see the role marks of so many players that came before her. Thankfully the rake raking’s good and she’s on the ups slope. So there’s some positives here. Well, she’s two under to avoid a second bogey in three holes, but no one really apart from Nado early on has got near her. Just a lovely looking swing. Clean lines, isn’t it? Parallel at the top. Well, we’ve seen some crazy finishes over the years in the world of golf. But it would be something extraordinary for Anna Hang not to get the deal done from here. Can’t quite see the undulation that Walsh faces because of the shadows, but this one will move from right to left. It’s up the hill in terms of the green, but the hole runs away from you. So, it won’t be as as slow as you think. It will move from right to left. But third on her own now. Madison in Toll Sharp. Best ever finish on the LD is eighth. That’s a super hit. Really is sumptuous from the Australian. Works with Richie Smith who teaches Miy Lee and any of the Perth players on that West Coast. That was some nice striking down the wind. Now this final group, there’s only been one birdie on the back n looking to make birdie here on 15. So close. They couldn’t stop making birdies the first couple of days. Nasty and a doough 15 over the first two rounds. Just the six so far this weekend. [Music] on 140 to a front pin. Ah, she had to land it there thinking it would release. You don’t want to be way long of this flag. We saw the Melanchova two put from back there. Well, she’d made two bogeies all week. This is potentially a second in three holes. But it must be nice to make a bogey and know that you still got a five shot lead with three holes to play. Yeah, Brook Henderson, a nice famous female Canadian player. She has met Brook Henderson on a a few occasions. In fact, Anna played the CKPC Canadian Open. a few months ago and actually was watching from the stands when Brook Henderson completed her title victory there. Oh, they’re like the Irish fans, aren’t they? The Canadians. They love to cheer on one of their own. So, it’ll be nice to to see another champion. Yeah, Anna’s uh mom and dad moved to Canada about 20 years ago before Anna was born. So she’s was born there and lived there most of her life. In fact, nowadays actually the family’s based in in Florida in the USA and they’ve got a bit of a star on their hands, haven’t they? The Prodigy is coming through here big time on the east coast of Spain. A five shot lead. Three holes to play for Anna Huang. might have just seen that Kiara Tambellini finished with a birdie for a round of 68. So she’s in sixth place on her own. Leon Harm, another solid week from the German player inside the top 20. Birded four of her first five holes today. And another good week for Lydia Hall who’s been playing well of late. [Music] Well, it’s a lovely afternoon. There were some threats of showers, but sun’s still shining as it has done all week long. Been a tough back nine for Shannon Tan. She’s bogeied her last three holes. And that is the danger of trying to putt through the Bermuda grass. Just not sure how it’s going to react. Well, this would make life easier if this one drops. Super try from Laura Beverage. Hasn’t had a top 10 on the Ladies European tour for 2 years. Laura Beverage. Oh, wonderful three for a Matty Hinson Toll shot. Just keeping on fighting after a couple of drop shots. Look at that there. That birdie on 16. How important is that going to be for the 23 year old? [Music] Just want to see one of these drop for finale. It was a quality T-shot. Seen that a few times. Just lacking a little bit of pace. came down as soft as she could there. Roads from the back of 18. Well, after those two double bogeies, nice T-shot at 17 from Kaiser Arafial. [Music] Well, she does bounce back, but those two sixes, look at that for a scorecard. Four bogeies, two double bogeies on the card, but reason to smile. She loves a par three, by the way. Well, at least that avoids four straight bogeies for Shannon Tan. Wind’s picked up a little bit. Not as strong as it was on Thursday afternoon. They’re confirming what I was saying a little earlier on about how this event has been recognized by the ladies European tour players. It’s only been 3 years that we’ve been to this destination and it’s really is a standout. I mean the prize fund itself in a a million euro the golf course is a cracker facilities weather you know Spain in September it doesn’t get any better dog leg from left to right the 16th hole 377 yds run out to the water it’s 240 so just an iron in a hands it just shows Here’s how much this wind has gotten up. It’s from the south, so it’s down off the left. Yeah, exactly. 185 is the carry number for the five iron. So, she’s looking to carry this 200 and hope for some chase. Apparently, they’ve on the golf course, they’ve had a few rumbles of thunder. That’s why we’re looking at the skies. Doesn’t look too menacing. Nice position down there. Nope. There’s only one ahead of Hinsson Tolshard now as far as the chase for second place is concerned. That long way in though. hybrid. I do wonder if you can just hit it further like Shannon Tan showed you that you’re not going to get in the water because of the thickness of the roof, but then it is a front flag. So, you won’t get the control with your second hybrid for Walsh. [Applause] Fivewood. Yeah, that’ll that’ll do. nicely. It hasn’t been perfect. And what about dad here who’s walking by her side? I’ll come back to him in a moment. First move up to Mimi Roads. Birdie finish. No. Well, the lead at the top of the order of merit will close a little. It’s looking like another top 10 for Mimi Road. And nothing wrong with the week, six under par, but her lead over Shannon Tan won’t be as big as it is right now because Tan at the moment is in his share of fourth place. edging left. Get down the left is really blocked out on 18. A blind second chance. She’ll have to turn that one over from right to left. What a good few weeks it’s been for Alice Houston. Good few months. Really disappointing today, but She still can look back at an August and September that have been very very kind to her. Certainly can turned it round really at the Scottish Open. Pushed on with a couple of top 10s and then that win last week for her third win. Big T-shot for Laura Beverage if she wants her season to continue. Yeah. Oh, and they like it. Stepped up there. and sent one. Got some length as well, Laura. So, be able to reach 18. Very obedient dog. Much more obedient than my one, I have to tell you. Confirmation. Tambberini finished with a 68. So, nine top 10s this season for last year’s number one, but no victories for Kiara Tambellini. Yet, she’ll be uh defending her title in France next week. This wind freshening this one back into the wind. Maybe a bit of right to left as well. Six iron. [Music] You think of some of the uh most recognizable courses in Spain, you often see trees in awkward places and this Jose Maria Tharble design on the east coast of Spain no different really fiddly in places particularly on this back nine. If you think of 15 with the the downhill and the right to left, that’s got a a second nine Augusta feel about it. And then we’ve got a front left pin here. So was laid back with a five iron. There’s a good club of wind up there. Should suit her baby draw. Oh, like so many just gets it stuck into the front there. This green is steep from back to front. So, they’re looking at keeping it short. These front pins have really caused some issues out there today. [Applause] Another super shot from Ana Huang who is cruising it seems to victory. And how must he be feeling Alex there on the bag? His little girl, I know she’s not little, but in terms of 16 years of age, how proud must he be feeling? I mean, this is kind of the unthinkable really. any what five players before her, one younger on the le. He’s in caddy mode at the moment, is he? He’s trying to clean the clubs and not think about it. But down 18, it’s we’re going to see some emotions. You would think so cuz it’s been, you know, an experience just to be out on tour at the age of 16. You know, they’ve spent so much time together as well, dad Alex and daughter Anna and 52 that pin. You just need to cover the front edge. There’s a bunker short left. Well, every birdie will count right now for Shannon Tan in her bid to close the gap at the top of the rankings. Few storm clouds gathering in the distance but hopefully far enough away. Have had some delays at this uh tournament over the last couple of years. Was a three round event in the end in 2023 when Nur Turoth beat Laura Funuk in a playoff. has got the hybrid finale looking for a high draw around these trees and has left that face open. Oh, it’s kicked down near the wall. It’s not too bad there. Will be low side of the green, so we’ll have to pitch one up and over there. Looking for another birdie here in St. Toe shot. Double breaker. Right to left. Left to right at the end. [Music] Close. I was thinking about going home after the week in France, but it’s deciding to stay in Paris. So, few euros to spend. Oh, yeah. Be down the sh some of those posh shops. Got some college mates and a few birthdays to celebrate. So instead of heading back to Perth, she’s like, “No, I’m going to stay a week and see some of Europe.” Sounds a very nice idea. Well, we’ve seen some stars emerge, haven’t we, on the Ladies European tour over the last few years. You think of Ling Grant and what she did. Think of what we witnessed here last year when Helen Bream came of age in what was her first ladies European tour start as a pro. And I think we’re about to see the emergence of another young starlet in the shape of Anna Huang. Well, this is going to need some judgment. Best part of 60 ft left for Lauren Walsh. down two steps. It’s very quick, but it’s back into the wind. So then there’s a another tangible to consider. Move from right to left as well. [Music] Comes back at the end. Hurry. Good part. Shannon Tan sharing fourth place at the moment with Lauren Walsh. Positive looking Ping out of the hole. Well, it’s been a tough spell for her. shows her fighting spirit. The finest player to have emerged from Singapore. What’s going on here, Sophie? Just in discussion with Mark, the referee. Imagine it be a sprinkle head at the front of the green looking for relief. Oh, there it is. Yeah. Yeah. which is if you’re within two club lengths, you can take a free drop. Mark, by the way, the referee there, he was keeping a close eye on things with that Pella challenge because apparently he’s a highly regarded chef himself. Not sure any of them girls were. Dixie Dagger looked okay. The rest of them were. She did, not so much. Good job. Player dining’s been very good this week. Yeah, the paella was not on our menu. So that was a free drop. So Nadau will be playing three. Some movement from right to left. That’ll be slow as well. So one ahead of Hinton Tolshard at the moment for second spot. That was good. You see it just nick off a maybe a footprint or something in front of her. on the fringe, but it looks like it’s done all right below the hole. That’s a good spot to be. Well, the sun’s still out, but those dark clouds are gathering. Not over the shoulders of Anna Huang, though, who has this to get to 19 under again. Oh yeah. Oh yes. How about this? What a performance. Well, when she’s dropped a shot, she’s birded on this back nine. Those puts on 14 and 16. Never looked anywhere else. That’s my girl. Yeah, I assume the T-shot we must have seen of Laura Brook Beverage was a provisional ball, Sophie, if that was her full shot. And what a body blow that is for the Scott given everything we’ve said that’s been going on as Laura Morse knocks that in for par. When we saw the graphic come up there, we were looking at each other a little confused, but I can only assume the T-shot we saw, which was an absolute beauty, must have been a provisional shot. Yeah, must have been. That would be heartbreaking if it was. Well, a little bit of drama on a day that seems to have been sucked out of the drama in terms of the top of the leaderboard. Even though Nadau at the beginning looked like she was going to make a real fight of this when she birdied the first two holes. There’s her scorecard. If you’re just joining us, she got to within one of Anna Huang. very much now thinking about holding on to second place. They may be also thinking about when is that weather going to hit. You can see rain and storm clouds are gathering. It’s about the only thing that’s going to stop Anna Hang right now, isn’t it? Getting her hands very soon on that trophy. It’s been some performance all week long, ever since that day 64. She’s led from the front all week long and no one’s going to catch her. It’s a mammoth sixshot lead. Two holes left to play at Laser Open. [Music] Well, it’s heart sinking, isn’t it? Seeing what Laura Beverage has been up to here at 18. Got to hold this. Oh, Laura, great effort. Fabulous week. She hasn’t had a top 10 in over two years on the Ladies European tour, and she has come mighty close here. one swing, wasn’t it? Down that left hand side and the pressure that she would have had on herself. It was that last chance saloon and it was so close to getting into next week. She’s 118th at the minute on the order of merit and needed a top 10 to extend the hope as it was. Yeah, because there’s two spots for anyone that does finish in the top 10 in in next week’s event. She’s seventh reserve. I suppose there’s maybe a slim hope that that might change. One or two may pull out after this week that were destined to go to France next, but it’s unlikely. But more encouragement that that she is has she feels she’s playing as well as as ever right now, even at the age of 37. And you know, she stepped up this week when she knew that there was a lot on the line for her. You’re often when you it’s like all hope’s gone. It’s just like, right, okay, let’s go and play. But then she had that little bit of hope, I suppose, on AT&T. Well, the ever eventful Kaiser half of looking to finish with an eagle. [Applause] But whenever we’ve watched her, Sophie, she’s been fabulous to see. Yeah, she has. She’s up and down, but more up than down. It’s the couple of big numbers that she would like to just erase from her scorecard, but there’s a certain aggression in the way she swings through the golf ball, but then the smile on her face, it’s a it’s a balance which is welcomed for the rookie. Okay, so we got 152 front. It does play one uphill, but it plays into the wind as well. The minimum carry you’re looking for is 140 over that front left bunker. Very nice. [Applause] Well, we’ve hardly seen a cloud all week long and suddenly they’re all gathering at once right now here at Laa. Is it Nadau next? We’ll come back to that finale first at 18. This for birdie for finale. Oh, the pace is good now. Finally, she’s hold one. Finally. Yeah. Well done, Alisandra. All good things come to those that wait. Closing round of 72. Seven underpart and a top 10 finish. I bet when she hit that she thought that’s too hard. I think it’s fair to say that Nasty Nadau likes this hole. Sophie, all birdies so far this week. Three of them. One of them are chipping. Yeah. Take two back and then Yeah. Well, there’s certainly some wind up there. Had seven. I think she’s switched back to six. Well, with the storm coming, not surprising to see the wind whips up a little. She’s taking it right back. You allowed two club lengths. That’s the maximum allowance. It’s a strong wind. You know, this suggests there’s a a good club and a half up there. [Music] Well, she hasn’t held a bunker shot yet at this hole. Remember, she is only one ahead of Madison Hinsson Tolshard in that chase for second place. And there is a 30,000 euro differential between second and third. Good. Nice and committed. Jeff, he’s Robin Mure. I think they’ve pulled the six iron and they’re not teeing it too back. Maybe want to take the flight down on this. It’s into out of the right. It’s as strong as it’s been all day. [Music] [Applause] safely on board for Walsh. Birdie for Kaiser Rafael to complete her eventful lassa open. Thank you. Thank you very much. Thank you very much. It was an amazing scorecard. A shame we can’t see it because she didn’t have a par in those final eight holes. She had four birdies, two bogeies, and two double bogeies and shot a round of 74. I can’t help looking at her thinking, get a caddy. There’s got to be so many people lining up to want to caddy for her. Oh yeah. Meanwhile, up at 18, Shannon Tan, great birdie at 17. She’s in range here at 18. She’s got the hybrid. She’s on the walk. And now the run [Applause] front of the green. That was more than hybrid. Actually, she had to hit a fairway wood in there. Well, when you’re from Singapore, you have to watch the Soulheim Cup. Maybe we can get some tickets for Shannon Tan. Sure, she’ll be cheering on team Europe. Kiara Tambellini and Charlie Hall. Great to see Charlie in the winner circle in the most dramatic of circumstances last weekend. She’s had a bit of a week, Sophie, hasn’t she Charlie Hull? She has. She was at the royal banquet on Monday night. An invitation by the King and Queen and Donald Trump who will be cheering on Team USA and Angela Stanford’s 12, who they might be. I’m sure we’ll see most of these names teeing it up at Bernard’s Golf Club in uh 11 and 1/2 months from now. Three captain’s picks for Angela. Four captain’s picks for Anna Norquist. And uh if you want to be at the Sohim Cup, then you just scan that QR code. Nido in the sand at 17. [Music] This is lie dependent. Got 11 yards of green to work with. And that was blocked. [Applause] So no birdie today at 17 for Estasia and Nadau as there were the previous three days. [Music] Fairly uh lengthy putts coming up. I think it’ be Lauren Walsh to go next. [Music] Sometimes when you put it off that back foot, you do just struggle to square the face at impact and just leaked it a little bit on that right hand side. gradually move from right to left on her. And she’s had some distance on this back nine as Walsh for her putts. It’s been some good lag putting out there. Well, there’s another example. Fabulous effort in fifth place at the moment. So on course to finish in the top five for the fifth time this season like Nado won really knocking hard on the door of a breakthrough victory. Just keeping on learning isn’t she see that back nine there and I keep mentioning how she probably never thought that she was going to win but she’ll look back and think I’d like to have had some good birdies. I can’t affect what the other two are doing. But the more you get in the spot, the more you realize how comfortable you can be. Speaking of comfortable, that was a good old roll, wasn’t it, from Anna Huang. comfort of uh the big lead that she has. In the trees is Hinson Tolsh. [Applause] Oh, that’s a good result there. [Music] Well, she trailed by three at the start of the day. Got it to just the one shot behind Anna Hang after a fabulous start, but hasn’t had a birdie since those first two holes. in danger here of a fourth bogey of this final round. Nau don’t like those clouds. Good save. She hasn’t hit enough green, has she? For somebody that prides herself on her approach play and off the te good scramble. Yeah, but like everyone else playing second fiddle to the junior. Anna Hang went to Q score as an amateur. Finished 29th there to get a card. Only turned pro in January. Even she doubted whether turning pro at 16 was the the right choice. Wasn’t sure she was completely ready. Boy, has she been ready. Left edge. Some tidying up to do here. Rattles it in. There’s a player who knows destiny is firmly in her hands. Part of team Canada’s first ever victory at the World Junior Gold Golf Championship a couple of years ago. Shannon Tan knows about making history for her country. Oh, stay there. Eagle foot on the edge. We’ve seen trailblazers, haven’t we? Singapore. Well, when she won in Kenya with Shannon and then we’re going to see here at Lea. Hopefully soon. Hopefully this storm doesn’t come in and take the shine off Anna’s win. Back to 18. That ball’s seen some tree trouble down 18, the yellow marks on that, but it’ll be a five. Yeah, we’ve seen on the Ladies European tour, haven’t we? Some wonderful wins by I suppose you can call them school girls which is what Anna Hang is really. She’s having to do her school work. Gino Titakun winning at 14. Lydia Co winning at 15. Amy Yang at 16. Kiara Neoya the latest 16year-old before this week to to win on the L. We’re talking about world number one. Major champions there. You are other than Karanoya. talking about people that are winning in a country which is known to them. It’s like a home event. Whereas this is the other side of the world for Yeah. When Lydia won it was in New Zealand. I don’t know what you’re saying. So when Gino won it was in Thailand and when Amy won it was in Australia which is where she was living. This is like I’ve got my tour card and I’m going out to work. A well it may make a difference to Shannon Tan and those order of merit points at the moment fourth on her own at 11 under park closing 70 to match the effort of yesterday and it’s another good week after her previous performance in Houston but a birdie from Lauren Walsh down this 18th would see her join Tan on that Huh? [Applause] Well, just a par five away from creating some history here on the ladies European tour. Just going through the process, 15 minutes really to stay switched on that wind from right to left. The easiest hole on the golf course. Just don’t go left. That’s the message. That right half of the fairway. That’s where she’s looking with this driver up. It’s another super swing. It’s another booming drive. We haven’t seen much of Pier Babnik today. Another prodigy. By on the last that’s around a 75 for Babnik looking to hang on to second place. Nad two under for this hole. [Applause] It’s got a bounce. That bounce left. It could have been lost, but it’s okay. There’s a drop down there down the left hand side. Well, it’s all about the Canadian rookie, but take nothing away from the Australian rookie Madison Hinsson Tolshard. Her best ever finish on the Ladies European Tour. Third place here at Lassa Open. Brilliant weekend for the 23 year old second top 10 on the Ladies European Tour. That’ll get her inside the top 50 on the order of merit. But all week long, it’s been about the one and only Anna Hang closing in on victory at Laa. [Music] There’s Alex flanking her. She admits that they uh they they they do argue a lot, but appreciates him sacrifice being out here with her because it’s compulsory that either mom or dad are out with you at this age. Well, you have to have a chaperone to have to be a a relative out with you until you are an adult of 18. I keep saying that 16 years old like working at 16. This is what she’s doing. And it’s we keep talking about how young she is, but she’s playing professional golf. This is not an amateur winning. This is a professional that’s chosen to do that. And the decision was a huge one for her and her family to come all this way to Europe. And you’re not just playing in Europe. You’re playing all over the world. She had a top 10 last week. You thought, “Wow, that’s good.” And then this week, she shot eight under par. And it’s just been incredible golf since. Front running at its very best. No one’s had a chance. And we’re guaranteed to see her next season on the Ladies European tour because the rules and regulations on the LPGA tour are different, aren’t they? You have to be 18 by the time of I think final stage of Q school unless it’s very very special circumstances and you can apply for that. So we have seen Lydia Co, Gino Titan, Lexi Thompson, those type of names. If you win on the ladies European tour, could you start asking those questions? I suppose so. I suppose so. I mean, a win here will take her 22nd on the rankings. And she’s only gaining conf confidence right now. Robbie and Lauren trying to work out this second shot at 18. I mean straight off where it should be off the bike. [Music] trying to pick out a spot because it’s a a blind second here. [Music] moments from a momentous victory here at Anaheim. She was just checking it is her to play here and not Lauren Walsh. She’s been passed the honor by Walsh. 204 yds to the front edge. 228 to the back right pin. It’s 3wood. Wind is from the right hand side. It’s a blind second shot. So, she’s had a walk up the hill trying to pick which palm tree to take this at. [Applause] She can really enjoy this walk up 18. 226 for Walsh. Ball above her feet. This is on a good line as well. Moving from right to left. needing a birdie to match the 11 under pass score of Shannon Tan. Finish her share of fourth place as opposed to fifth as she is right now. And the dough hit a five iron in here yesterday and she’s crushed driver down here today. It’s a good 30 in front. Looks like the same club. She can see what’s going on down there. There’s a drop of 10 yards. Yeah. Normally aiming at a spot at the clubhouse, top of the roof or the Mountains, the backdrop here at Lasa. 187 yards. Just turned it over the lie as well. Wind right to left. lie hanging from right to left. Well, what a moment this is for Anna Hang. You’re supposed to respect your elders, aren’t you? At the age of 16, the youngest player on the ladies European tour has delivered a blow to her elders. She has been head and shoulders above them all week long from the get-go. Sophie, I mean, this is going to be a wire to-wire win in such impressive manner. It is. You know, she was kind of last out in her flight, shot minus 8, took advantage of the good conditions, never made a bogey, and you thought, well, we’ll see what’s going to happen for the next three days. Well, she showed us what’s going to happen. She stayed at the top of that leaderboard. She’s only made three bogeies. Has just threaded the ball through this treelined golf course and has never looked so flustered. We saw her a little bit unnerved on 12, but that’s really been it. It’s It’s her playing partners that have struggled to play around this golf course. She is just striding around it. 19 under par. It’s incredible. Yeah, there’ll be some regrets I would think from Nau particularly after starting so well that she wasn’t able to maintain the pressure she would have been putting on an at that early stage. Agreed. There was a a moment those six holes on the back nine yesterday where I felt Nadau could have made a couple of birdies and then when she came out quick today, she got within one, didn’t she? But everybody has struggled at some part on this golf course and has looked like they’ve been in trouble except for Anna Huang. just got killed in the slope there. That shot from Lauron Walsh. [Music] Well, tackling the ladies European tours best while having to tackle your homework. It’s not for everyone. I don’t know how good a student she is, Anna Huang, but I’m not sure it’s as good as her golf. Well, she is behind on her homework. Yeah, I think she might get let off this week at least. She only just started back though. She’s only been back a couple of weeks behind already. Don’t know where she’s been though. She’s been on the television for the past four days. Yeah. Like uh Nadau, Nadau also came through qualifying scored on the ladies European tour as an teenage amateur. Her third season on tour and she’s getting better by the year. 54th in her rookie year, 23rd on the Order of Merit last year. And uh should she see it through and finish in second place here, which looks very likely, she’ll be up to seventh on the order of merit. This is nearly 100 ft of putt. Though she has opted to take putter from the fringe most of the day, very slow and then from left to right. Yeah. Oh dear. Settle. Well, she needs a par to uh make sure of second place. Well, chipping. You’ve said she’s been working on a chip in for the past few weeks cuz it’s not been an area of a game she’s been happy with. There was so much fringe to go over. All I can think is she’s pulled that and it’s gone into the fringe more than she was expecting. Not wasting wasting much time. Anna hang here was an eagle put. The only question is how many is she going to win by? If she can roll that in, it would be the biggest winning margin of the season. Lotty W in Ireland won by six. Yeah, think of Lotty W and we know she’s going to be around for years to come and you never know what what’s ahead for Anna Huang. But what we’re seeing this week suggests there’s another player that we might be seeing at the top of the game for quite a while. The sustainability of the the way the golf game’s held up has been mighty impressive around the demanding golf course. I mean, this is a tight golf course even for the best on the women’s tour. They’re known for hitting it so straight, but this is tight this place. Two puts needed for Nadau. Pretty good. Best finish on tour was last week for Lauren Walsh. Looking like another top 10 here. Two puts to stay in fifth. [Applause] She’ll tap that in for a round of 72 to finish in Spain here this week. Fifth top five of the season. [Music] Well, it is a performance that deserves a fine finish in front of the crowds here at 18 from Anna Huang. this to try and get to 20 underpar. Wonderful. Age, it seems, is just a number. So young, so good. Anna Huang, just 16 years old, is a ladies European tour winner. Fantastic. Look at that. Four rounds in the 60s. Minus 20. You wouldn’t know it. Don’t you deserve to hold that final put? Yeah, fitting way to finish that for Anna Huang. An important pup for Nastasia Nadau. This to finish second on her own and a second runner up finish for the French player. Her wait for a lady’s European tour breakthrough will have to wait. But the youngest player in the field has been by far the best. A sevenshot victory for Anna Huang. Oh my god. Oh my god. Shannon Tan with water duties. Oh my god. I wonder if it’s finally hitting her now. She’s been so composed. Wise beyond her years. Metronomic around the golf course. She changed a putter a couple of weeks ago. Don’t change it again. [Applause] Thank you. Well, she’s got to go and sign the card. Well done, Anna. Congratulations. It is an amazing performance by a player just starting out in her career. Oh yeah, sure. What is this event? Is it like 17 for her? Congratulations. Wait. Hopefully this is like big enough. And and also like these are the things that she won’t be used to doing. They’re asking her to put some uh of those glasses on with cameras. But this area of the celebration, all of that lot. I mean, this has come so quickly for her. That was the most kind of uncomfortable she looked like. I’ve put now what? Oh, you get to pick up the trophy and €150,000. Look at that. Seven shots. the biggest winning margin of the 2025 season on the ladies European tour and it goes to the school girl the 16-year-old Anna Huang what a performance Nau who did get close early on in this final round in the end seven shots a drift in second place the champion at Laaya Open is Anaang [Music] Yeah, some big wigs there for Nido. It’s a second runner up finish of the season for Maddie Hinsson Tolshard for Anna Huang. This rookie class Sophie, I mean they have been pretty special. Not normally we get one or two but this is in numbers. It is and uh you know you’re talking about players from all over the world. There’s no like this country is more dominant than the other in terms of what’s happened. It’s like well Oklahoma State for Maddie but Anna she turned pro at 16. They’re a group which are just thriving off each other’s results looking across the driving range thinking well she won last week and she came second. what why can’t I do it? The belief is there and that is because of what’s come before them. What Mimi Roads has done so early in the season has just pushed everyone through the likes of Darcy Harry and now you know it wouldn’t surprise me if we see a couple more rookies and it’s the way the rookies deal with being up there. I mean, the way Anna’s dealt with these four days, this isn’t like this is a performance that you would see from a a multiple winner on tour. Well, there is Mimi Rhodess and Kaiser Alfield, another couple of the rookies that are in the top 25 of the order of merit. [Music] Just running you through the scores there. Laura Beverage in the end finishing in a tie for 19th place. Disappointing end of double bogey seven. [Music] Yeah, one or two not having the rounds they would like today. Winner of 2020 for Helen Bream finishing inside the top 40. Sarah Kuska in third place on the order of merit. She shot a 73 today. But there is the top of the leaderboard. And I feel like really after what happened at the 12th hole there off the back of that bogey 11 from Nado really seemed like it was destined only to be one player’s win. [Music] Well, just waiting for the prize presentation and for Anna Huang to get her hands on her first Ladies European tour trophy. There’s confirmation, a sevenshot victory for the first ever Canadian winner on the ladies European tour. [Music] And this will open up the possibilities. We’ve seen a few more Americans play out here recently and now a Canadian. It did get tight at the start of the day. Nasty Nadia doing what she wanted to do from three shots back. Quick start was needed. That was her shot into the first hole setting up this birdie. So she’d birdie won and Anahang only made park. This was for Eagle at the second where Hang also made pass. So the lead went from three to one. But then this happened, the first birdie of the day for the 16year-old on the third. [Applause] Yeah. So, the lead was back to two. Nadau missed a good birdie chance at seven. Then the first big mistake of the day. Tweaked it from right to left. The wind caught it and it was wet. In the end, she would make a a pretty decent five. So the lead was back to where it was at the start of the day, which was three shots. Anna had owned the ninth. She’d birded it every single day. This was the hardest flag back right except for our leader. She would birdie that and go out in two under par and most importantly stretch her lead to four. And that would become five when Nadau missed that for par. She was any what 35 yds short of the green with her T-OT. [Music] That felt a pivotal moment as did the next hole when she knocked it into the trees. Yeah, she went for it. She only had eight time yesterday. She hit driver, pushed it right, hit it into the penalty area. So, she was taking a drop for a for third there and Anah had hit one down the right and luckily she got hers spat out. So, this was for part. So she’s gone bogey bogey there Nadau and it was now a six-sh shot lead with six to play for Anna Juan. But there was some fun to come for Nidau down that 13th hole. The tricky 13th hole. This was special. This was her third shot. Curling one around the trees. There’s nothing on. She wasn’t even supposed to hit the green. Never mind. Knock it stiff. Love the reaction here between her and Michelle Thompson. Amazement. A one in aund shot. So it looked like Hang might lengthen her lead. In fact, it went down to five because she made just the second bogey of the week. So how would Huang react to that? while faced with a treacherous pot downhill right to left. Another missing. Look at the excitement in the rush towards the hole there. She knew. She knew right then. Found the bunker left of the green here at 15. Came out to here. Another drop shot, but it was hardly crisis time, was it? The lead back to five. But like she did with a birdie at 14. Bounce back ability. Look at the puts that she’s hold on this final round. There was some length in them. They were perfect. The lead was back to six. [Applause] But there was time for a fifth birdie of the day after charging her eagle past at 18. Well, she was winning. But it’s how you win, right? In style. A sensational performance from Anna Huang. I’m sure a very proud dad as well. [Applause] Oh my god. Well, the storm clouds gathered. Thankfully, we managed to uh avoid those. We finished in time to crown our champion, Anna Huang. The 16-year-old from Vancouver in Canada, going wire towire at Laa Open and winning by an extraordinary seven shots. I wonder if she’s been able to take it all in. Let’s find out. She’s with Edgar Moors. very many. Congratulations. You are a champion at just 16 years old. What’s your reaction? Um, honestly, I’m just really shocked right now. Like, I don’t even I can’t believe I just won. But, yeah, it’s it’s really crazy. I mean, you made it look so easy all week. You’ve been leading and you had a target on your back, but it just never seemed to bother you. You just seem to take it in your stride. Yeah, I think I just I was really focused on the present and the moment. So, the scores weren’t really um a distraction to me. Um and I was just really focused on like hitting each shot to what I could do. And on the back n when you you did make a mistake, a boa, you bounced back immediately with a birdie. I mean, that shows some pretty good mental resolve, doesn’t it? Yeah. Um I think I made a really crazy put on that hole. So, yeah, I was pretty happy with that. How much did the experience yesterday of being in the final group help you today to perform like you performed? Uh I think it just kind of showed me that I had to stick with the same game plan um and just not playing too conservatively because you know what I was doing the past few days was working really well. So I just kept that up. And obviously you did it with your father was on the bag. That must be so special to have him there. And obviously the decision to turn pro is being vindicated now. Yeah, definitely. Um, it’s super special to have my dad on the bag cuz he’s been with me for like literally he caddy for me ever since I like started golf. So, it’s super special and yeah, being able to win this at 16 is it’s like so insane because I never believed that this would ever happen, but I’m like so proud of myself. You should be proud of yourself and obviously everybody back home in in Canada are waking up to this moment. Are you ready for all the interest in you back in your home country? Yeah, I love when people like send me text messages. So, yeah, I’m really excited to like reply to all of them. And finally, what does this do for the rest of the season now? Now you’ve got your first win in your bank so early on. I mean, the confidence must be flowing. You’re you’re targeting more, I would assume. Yeah. Um I think well, at the beginning of the season, I didn’t even have a full card, so you know, just being able to win is absolutely insane. Um, but I remember I was not in I was a reserve for Taiwan and the one in China, but I think after this I should be good. So, I think you’re going to be just fine. Um, I think you’re going to get many more of these, but it’s time to get your hands on your first trophy. You smashed the field. Many congratulations. Well done. Carlos Garcia, the president of Lasa Golf, handing over the trophy to Anna Huang. [Applause] She said she was proud of herself. Really, really, she should be. I kiss the trophy. Okay. [Applause] There’s the winning moment. Been a birdie bonanza from her this week. One more for good measure. as she said, insane, crazy. And then towards the end of that interview, you could see her really starting to think about it. And yeah, do you know what? I am really proud of myself for what I’ve done there because the way she handled it was exactly what you’d want. And it’s just proven to herself that that decision to turn pro at such a young age. And let’s hope that she just keeps enjoying herself out on the golf course. The way she managed her strategy around there. I mean, Shannon Tan, she was looking forward to playing golf with her yesterday. She was like a 16year-old. Oh, I can’t wait to play with Shannon Tan. And it’s Shannon Tan providing the winning celebrations for her. Yeah. And it’s just showing once again that the youth that is coming through in the women’s game at the moment, it’s just one after another. It’s a conveyor belt and the standard as well. We was going on about the Helen Bream win last year. I didn’t think we’d get past 18 under this week, especially with the wind earlier in the week and she shot eight under. And I didn’t think someone younger than Helen was last year at 19 would win this week either. No, exactly. I mean, we was watching last year thinking, “Oh, what a youngsters won.” And now, I mean, it’s sweet 16. 16 years old. It’s incredible. It really is. and and a tremendous performance as as Edgar said in the interview there, the target on her back all week and she was able to keep that out of her mind, keep that out of her head and and continue to play the kind of golf that had taken to the top of the leaderboard on day one. Look, every player Caddy involved in this event from yesterday morning was like, well, let’s see how she goes. You know, she’s got in the lead from not being in featured groups, got the good side of the draw, etc. No one was watching her. Let’s see what happens on Saturday. She was the best on Saturday and Sunday as well consistently. You know, we’ve had some good scores on Saturday and Sunday, but the way she’s held it together over that weekend to have four rounds in the 60s, you know, we talk about backing up a good round to shoot four rounds in the 60s around this golf course at the top of the leaderboard with all of these great players. I mean, we’ve got number one, two, and three on the order of merit here. It’s just brilliant. and and you know she’s only been a pro nine months, but think about what she’s done over the last few months. She qualified for the US Open. She qualified for the Women’s Open. A few weeks ago, she was playing in team hull in the Aramco Houston Championship, playing with a player who’s fifth in the world. She has her first top 10 in Switzerland. And now this, I mean, what a ride. Yeah, it’s been a great ride. I mean qualifying for majors like well done but like going on to win the way she’s won here that has answered the question. I mean she said oh I’d never thought this this would happen. I think she thought it would happen but not this soon. She was trying to find a schedule stroke planner schedule for the end of the year. Now playing whatever you want on the ladies European tour for the next couple of years. You’ve got that exemption. You’re in the winners category. Yeah. And I’m sure she’ll look forward to heading off to Taiwan and Shenzen events that she wasn’t sure about getting in. And it was nice that this went in at the end. It is. Look at that. Stayed in the moment. Wasn’t too big for her. Well, you could say it was a hang of a performance, wasn’t it? She wasn’t sure about where to kiss the trophy mine, but she was very assured in everything else she did. Yeah, you you you live your dream of winning the event and holding the winning pot, but I don’t think you ever go into the trophy presentation and what you’re going to say in the speech, etc., etc. Well, another wonderful week on the east coast of Spain. And it’s a week, I’m sure, that will long live in the memory of a teenage sensation, Anna Huang, the champion, this week at Laaya Open. From all of us here, bye-bye for now. [Music] Heat. Heat. [Music] and you put an extra. The age is also no limit. We wish you a future full of success. Dear Rana, congratulations. Um, I just want to say a big thank you to Laa and and Pora for their support of the event as title sponsors and for their commitment to women’s golf and to raise the profile for women’s sports. Um, I’d like to give a special mention to Laaya Golf Resort and its staff members for making us feel welcome and looking after us this week. Uh, I’d like to thank Carlos and Mara and their team for organizing to present a world-class event. Thank you to Hima and her greeneping team for keeping early hours for the early hours and preparing a tournament quality golf course. A big thank you to all the volunteers who gave their time this week to do live scoring, marshalling, or ball spotting. We really appreciate you giving your time. Without you, we could not have showcased golf, women’s golf to the world, and I hope you enjoyed that this week. Um, finally, thank you to the le and all their staff for their hard work behind the scenes. Um, and I just want to say thank you to God. Thank you to my parents, my brother, and all my coaches for all their support and always believing in me. Um, and a special thank you to my dad for be for catting me this week. Um, without all your sacrifices, this wouldn’t ever be possible. So, thank you. [Applause]
