Burns now forced to play this as a second, excuse me, his third shot and the fourth is going to be even worse. Trevor, we talk about bunkers all the time at Links Golf Course is how penal they are. He’s kind of stuck in no man’s land here between the final group and the group he’s actually playing with that’s up on the green. 207 yds this needs to settle himself down, find a couple of good swings. Well, isn’t that just typical? He’s then going to have to work hard to drop just two shots on that hole, isn’t he, Sam Burns? Anything short will come back. Anything long works away from you as well. So, it’s all about striking it and hitting your number. Well, that was a shank. He’s He’s nearly biased over there. Take your punishment. Get it over on the right hand side. Oh, he’s going right underneath it. It hasn’t It’s moved out three in and it went moved straight down. Yeah, this is horrible tree in front of you. He went through it there, but he’s there in four. Yeah, Victor with a bit of a headache as you can see. That’s just about all you can do. This is off the other side. You remember a skit with Marty Feldman did when he went across the green. Across the green there. It could happen here with this pin. Oh goodness. In the bunker trying to get it out. Oh. Oh. Now Chica playing the third. Judy. Yep. He got it out. But that’s about it. Are this the third for Jake out of there? Second. Excuse me. Second shot. played it like a small pitch shot and didn’t play very well. That that’s expensive. Well, I’m looking forward to this. I don’t think Sandra show will be poach dig. That’s gone. That could be in the other one. This is an issue with that buckler. Go from side to side to side. Lots of trouble here on this difficult par four. Just get it out. Get it in play. leave yourself to fight another day. Uh-oh. Yeah, came out a lot harder than he thought it would. Now he’s left himself that difficult pot bunker style of shot. It’s just about hanging on, I think. But they do, all three of them could do with a couple of birdies, but I’m just not sure they’re out here late in the day. Yeah, I think he was trying to use that mound and it’s come out left. He’s missed the mound and now he’s got another difficult shot. So there’s a pot bunker about 30 yards short of the front edge of this green. He’s got to make sure he covers. Took a pretty big rip at it, but it might be a little right. Colt found the green side pot bunker there. Just short and right. And Morawa in the bunker. A lengthy bunker shot, Kurt. Oh, settle down. It came out a little hot, didn’t it? This green has about 14 sections in it. It’s unreal. There is so much undulation. Good. To be fair, it didn’t look like look like there was that much sand underneath that. It sounded a little funny, didn’t it? What do you think the chance of him getting this on the green arm? 40% chance. There he goes. Played to the left, but look at this one bounding on. No chance of stopping. And off it goes. That is one place only. It’s easy to say this after the fact. I I thought he had at best a one in 10 chance of getting that on the green. I think John was being kind. I was being kind. I was being optimistic. I’m very surprised he’s going to try. No, he didn’t try and pick Oh. Oh, this is back on him. J. Yeah, he dumped that one. And I was surprised he was trying to pitch it on the green, John. He wasn’t convinced, was he? He was trying to be too cute. And he’s paid the price for it. Oh. Uh there there is a description of that. That was a shank. Yeah. Yeah. There you go. Fitzpatrick coming out of the bunker here. Oh no. It could come back to his feet. Oh, might go in his footprint as well. That is going to be really close to where he just played. Yeah. Got to unload everything you got as Eric Cole is whipping this in. Oh no. We’ve seen that too many times from players that tried to play too big of a draw. You come up short and you’re in all sorts of trouble. No, it kind of knew. You could see where he was pointing. He knew where he was going to end up. We’ll have to curl this from the right hand side and hoping for a good bounce. Avoid the bunker on the right hand side. It’s so hard to to get any shape on a shot out of that rough. The idea was there. It’s come out a little dead and stops just shy of that bunker. It might be an interesting stance though. Just don’t do anything silly. Take six out of play. Get it on the green. Did it find the left bunker mark from my angle? Cannot see. But you have to figure so cuz they are deep. Yeah, I see that now. Shankaroo. Oh no. Look out off of there. Spe aiming further and further to the right. the wind off the right. Oh, get to the fairway. Oh my. Didn’t see that as a layup, did you? Possibly the worst I’ve ever seen him play off a tea. Anyway, you might be right. Yeah, an absolute chunker. Incoming. That did well. You see, he was he was playing for the fact that that club face would get shut down because of the long grass. Bob McIntyre. That is a thick line. Yeah. Got no local love here. Best effort maybe advance at 100. Don’t compound the error. Look like he did Trevor. He’s going to be a long way back still too high. Go. Oh, don’t take a massive bounce. [Applause] What a bounce. So, miss fairways, pay the price. Here is back at eight. Oh, that was a terrible lie. And that shot off to the right. That may find one of those deep bunkers. And yes, it has. That’s what you have to avoid in links golf. He does not have much to work with. Ian close to the face on the ups slope. So, he had to get the elevation. He couldn’t get distance as well. Correct. Kittyama probably a smart shot too. Oh, but it had to be hit harder. Matsyama’s third shot at the second. Not in the thick stuff, so should be relatively easy. That’s a poor one. Really poor one for him there. Shame. Oh dear. That’s coming back at him. Maybe to a worse spot. Stop. Thank goodness. I thought that was going to come round and then to the bunker. And that second shot hit the front of that waist area. Right. But we can see he’s just playing out sideways now just to get out of that waist area back onto the fairway with his third. We’ve talked about the difficulty of these bunkers. You can see Soderberg is having to play away from the flag. And that was close to being really good. Didn’t have much option there. Much struggle to get the distance. He’s close to that lip. He caught the face. Still scooted up. Oh no. Onehanded then immediately dropped the club as we see Sam just hack this one out of there. It’s got to fly. Go. Stay away from that bunker. Nothing more frustrating than taking an iron off the first te for accuracy and heading into the jungle. He’s still got 203 y to go. hit the tree I believe now somewhere back there as Sunjm in the thick stuff just see that flick across there got very little out of that’ll be a long third got quite lucky that that ball flew over that pop bunker looking down the line it looks terrible it’s just a pitch out basically doesn’t quite maybe to the edge trust me I wouldn’t fancy this one some sort of Sacrifice needs to be made. At least it came out of the the very long grass there for Salatusurus. Fix Patrick’s second out of the long stuff. He was not too happy when he got up there and saw that lie. No, it’s just a beast because when you’re missing it off the tea, you’re missing it in that kind of hay.
