If Taylormade gets on an 18 month cycle, it really won't be too bad of a thing. If the P770s came out in January of 23, now August of 24, the next one will be January 26. Better than every 6 months 😄 🤣 😂

The last model was officially presented in 2022, preorders started in December 2022 and they hit retail stores in January 2023. So it’s way longer than just 1 year. You‘re quite good in making stuff up.

Put your ego aside Rick these are the clubs that should be in your bag. You have a lot of mis hit iron shots in your vlogs and this type of club will make a lot of difference 👌🏻

Been waiting for someone to say this
With spin difference in 7i, would like to see spin numbers on short irons. If they also spin more then the quick release might be to differentiate the 770 from the 790 or to match up with spin characteristics on new cb for mixed set up.
To be fair the last p770s came out in very early 2023.
Redesigned based off the looks of the T100/150 perhaps? When I first saw these that was my initial thoughts. Ball felt good off the face and they sounded nice indoors but went with the Wilson Staff blades.
I think the novelty in the new 770s is the variable sole weights specific to each iron, like in the new 790s, which increases spin, forgiveness and probably improves dispersion. There are no distance gains it seems for the good player, bc of the higher spin, but those with moderate swing speeds may find them more forgiving and consistent.
Those sound good off the face.

It’s almost criminal at $1300 usd to release new irons every year. Especially when Takomos or next level are literally less than half 😢
We consumers need to hold on to our gear for 2 years and shut these astronomical prices down in their tracks.

I'm on a ten year cycle with irons. Have a season and a half left on my Titleist 716 AP2's. And if the grooves are still decent, I'll get them reshafed and maybe crank the lofts a degree or two.

P790’s 2023 here and they’re amazing. Scotty Cameron putter dropped by number of putts by 7 also. I went from spider tour x to Scotty Newport 2 plus, huge improvement. Also, the high-toe wedge by TM wow!

My guess as to why they brought out a new set was to blend with the new CB. Tried blending the MC with the 770 and they just don’t match up. They worked on matching the lofts and flight to go with the new CB. I’m going for a fitting next month.
Pointless club release
Editing is shocking on this one
The video has an error at 1.30 and the sound is all over the place.
However the grpagicsnon the Portrush video closed the gap on the Peter Finch editing.
It's hard to imagine that a company that started out selling a $79 wood made in the United States out of American steel, would now be the same company that pushes $2,000 sets of irons onto the public made in China that they probably pay about $100 for that set total. A company that was founded on an idea that was actually to make a more durable golf club which would ultimately be more economical than a persimmon wood with better performance. But now we have a company that simply only cares about keeping its prices as high as it possibly can. That's why it constantly releases new clubs because if they were to continue in the market with the same club there would be no justification for their extremely high ridiculous prices for their chinese-made product.

yeah, who needs 200 rpm spin? oh, everyone does… Rick, the new one is noticeably better, not sure who taught you to interpret data buddy….. also, please learn about how loft is related to clubhead center of gravity, you very obviously have little idea what is going on there…. loft jacking isn't a thing bud, there's a very good reason the players distance 4 iron is lofted a degree lower than the full players/blade/whatever we're calling it now – iron
Taylormade are taking the p!ss out of all the pretentious golfers who have too much money and need to be seen with the newest gear.
£600+ drivers out every 6 months, promising more distance. 15 handicappers should be hitting 500 yard drives by now!
Another set of £1000+ irons out, just like the last set from a year ago, but more distance, accuracy and forgiveness. Everyone should be shooting under par if that's the case.
Here's a new putter only £250+. It's different to the last one we brought out because you'll hole more putts with this one………..We said you'd hole more putts with the last one, but this time we REALLY mean it!
And people fall for it………..Bonkers!
Great review. Something I havn'r seen reviewed in any chanel is wedge shafts. Steel vs Graphite, different flex etc.
So which ones would you pick between the P7CB and P770?
The phantom black P790's are some of the nicest looking clubs ever. If they could get the prices down even 20% it would be so much better

Its not that bad – it was about a year and a half since the previous P770 was released.
Taylormade does these quick releases every time, we should be used to it.
