well statistics Point overwhelmingly to the fact that longer drives You’ already guess this produce lower scores shorter second shots into greens always make it easier there can be a few rare exceptions certainly in this area now couple of thoughts for you AR COA there the leading people with the stat Keepers in people’s golf clubs the average Amer golfer is only 3% more likely to hit the Fairway with a three-wood than a drive so hey that may not hold true for every single player but generally speaking it isn’t that big a difference there’s about a quarter of a shot penalty on average for being in the rough generally maybe half a shot for a fairway bunker water and out of bounds that’s a little bit different if they’re really in play and you’re struggling then I would consider something else off the tea but keep the driver in your hand don’t just default to hybrids and 3-woods you’ll have shorter shots even if they are from the rough sometimes you’ll score better

Hmmm, I haven't played with a driver in 3 years. Certainly, I can hit it far 250+yrds, but generally, it was costing me 3-5 strokes (lost balls). My 3 wood/hybrids are far more accurate in hitting fairways. Consistently scoring in the low 80s.
