All friendships are left in the locker room and rivalries return after the Zurich Classic last week, as the PGA TOUR heads back to Texas for THE CJ CUP Byron Nelson. The field, led by world No. 1 Scottie Scheffler, will be competing at a newly renovated TPC Craig Ranch. Fellow Texan Jordan Speith is back in Dallas and reigning champion Taylor Pendrith is returning to defend his title, looking to become the first golfer since K.H. Lee to go back-to-back. There is also a large representation from South Korea with stars Tom Kim, Sungjae Im and Ben An leading the way. The field will also be looking to qualify for the upcoming Signature Event next week, the Truist Championship.

That’s a great swing to start the day there for Scotty. Oh my from Soul, Republic of Korea. Ah, drifting a little bit to the right. Good shot. Yeah, just a very gentle break to the right. [Applause] [Music] Carried a little too much speed, I think, to take the break. You know, I went down a little putting rabbit hole because I’m dissecting Scotty Sheffller’s round. I’m like, “Okay, how could he be better?” I know he shot 10 under and a par for Scotty. of rain and this one has gone to the left. He’s just getting this back in play. 229. I mean, just hacking that back out. And that’s got to go. Okay. Gets back to the fairway. So it’ll give him something with his third cus a couple years ago and then went over and won by eight in Japan. So I like his game chang easy swing a lot of power chefer. Oh nearly jarred it there’s your wakeup call three. Watch it again. [Applause] This is a recovery when you think okay might be in a little bit of trouble here. He hits it the kick in range. Fast save. It’s going to feel like a birdie. He’s holding on this one up the right center just right at Jordan’s golf ball. Should be just fine. and is 229 224 the cover [Applause] and just tried to launch this way up in the air. This is on a fantastic line. Scotty came to play. Sheffler buries it. an Eagle on the 18th. His ninth hole of the day. Sheffller’s at 12 under out in front by two. Johnson, I like this play going with Driver trying to push it up there. 320 runs through the fairway. This one starts at those fairway bunkers and not cutting. Oh, that’s took it out of play. Carried it. Now, even it’s a great lie in the rough. If you get a good line in the rough, you actually have quite an advantage because you’re not worried about the ball spinning so much. Just like that. Nice start for both those guys. Yep. Good position to be in. [Music] Is it enough? Yes, it is. Scotty Sheffller reaches up. Bakers does it under par and now the lead is four. Yeah, here he is on the tea at the second. There’s a tree down the right side with this helping wind. You want to hit right over the top of it and that’s exactly what he’s done. It’s so important to find the fairway. Players have been talking about that before we had the rain today. Really nicely done. Spend a bit of extra time. It pays off with the read there. So, back to back birdies on the restart. First par five on the golf course. Just absolutely smashed right down the center. And he’s dialed in right now, isn’t he? Dialed in. I don’t know if he’s going to be able to reach from that far back. Not a shot you practice a ton. That was blistered up the left side. That’s absolutely perfect right there. Such a basic chip shot with his hands. He’s going to be thinking about making that one. One of the things that’s made him so famous is the footwork, Johnson. And you certainly wouldn’t teach it, but his club is in such a good position at impact and he uses the ground well. I mean, he it completely just releases his body off the ground. It’s of course clearly going to be too soft to play the ball down tomorrow. No, he almost hooped it. I think I think he’s shocked he didn’t and Scotty adds to his lead. It is now five as he races out to 15 under par. Remember last year he won at Memorial and then went to the US Open and really struggled. Yeah, he can play from there. through the middle of the last bunker. She’s so soft. He’s not going to charge up towards that bunker. That’s the bunker there on the right of the screen that we were talking about. That was proper contact. Little bit of spin. Yeah. Just going to be a tap in. Yeah. Well done. That’s the 16 on the bar. [Applause] All right. Well, let’s see if he can knock one off here. And for those gamblers out there, Steve, he is currently minus 550 to win this golf tournament. Next best odds, Steven Joerger plus 4,000. That is crazy considering it’s only Friday and now he has an excellent chance. Yes, sir. Just like that. Five birdies on the first nine today. And Johnson, if he can manage to make birdie or better here, he will not have anything over a four on his scorecard for the first two days. And that’s exactly what he’s done down the left hand side. That’s ridiculous. Cole, he hasn’t made a five yet. Zero fives. No field five. Oh, this is a little right and needs to hustle. That bouncing looks like it went back into the bunker. Took a big swing. Flew it up top. [Music] I like it. I mean, under the hole, putting uphill. Yeah, there you go. 18 under par. What a way to finish. Scotty Sheffller has a six shot lead after a 6163 start. The best 36hole start of his PGA Tour career. Thanks for watching the PGA Tour on YouTube. For more videos, click here. To subscribe, click

  1. Absolutely insane stuff from Scottie – would love to see him keep his foot on the accelerator on Saturday and Sunday and win his first title of 2025 💪

  2. It is a tribute to Scotty for the way he’s prepared himself to be a remarkable golfer, but I don’t think courses were set up to shoot scores this low, Mr. Jack Nicklaus has complained about the technology involved. However, we’re stuck with it now whether you like it or not most importantly, what Scotty’s doing is remarkable, even if the courses pretty easy for professionals.
