day one we had here in the city of
churches the Aussie fans did not
disappoint high energy is an absolute

at the top of the individual leaderboard
torque GC also at the top of the team
leaderboard it’s day2 ladies and
gentlemen and we’re live from Adelaide
Australia welcome to Club 54 pre-round
show I’m your host Christian Crosby and
joining me is the one and only Jerry FS
as you can see the the fans are excited
crowded around us whole lot of energy to
my right to my left behind us here Jerry
welcome to the pre-round show you look
good man thank you so much and I I would
say the same but my friend over here
from Melbourne I said what a
self-respecting Australian wear those
pants he looked over and he said uh no
you’re kidding me no I wore these pants
just for you Jerry I thought you would
love them you don’t you don’t like the
the golf ball pants this is students
golf they uh they sent me these in the
mail and I thought you’d love them J I
got a pair for for you how about that
all right good good good good no no you
should uh day one day one was incredible
for me uh it exceeded my expectations
and my expectations were high because
all I could hear was this was the best
stop the fans are the best here in
Australia what about you what do you
think about day one yeah the energy the
energy from the fans obviously is
something the players feed off of it
means a ton to them but this tournament
means so much to Australia and South
Australia as well because it really
really the city kind of lives in the
shadows so to speak of Melbourne and and
Sydney but yet this puts them on the map
in a global sporting event that’s huge
the people come from all over the
country to support it 36 countries I
told you yesterday 36 countries
represented amongst the fan base a year
ago and they got to see their national
hero play along with the guy I think
they most wanted to see you know a new
participant this year and John Ron
playing alongside each other and they
were they’re respectful but and but
they’re energetic and they’re
enthusiastic I agree about that the The
Watering Hole was unlike anything I’ve
experienced uh let’s take a look at the
leaderboard from day one Jerry talk to
me when you look at this leaderboard I
see two iron heads at one and two which
seems pretty special to me but I could
be wrong Jerry am I wrong about that
well no I mean obviously the iron heads
have not been a Powerhouse team
throughout their existence within Liv
golf but they have a team that fits this
course very well janichi razuma hasn’t
had a lot of great finishes in his brief
Live Career but yesterday he tore apart
the par fours which was the key to
scoring as it turns out um Danny Lee got
guy has won on the PJ tour in his past
career he’s won on the live golf tour in
his current career he’s a very streaky
player and yesterday was a great streak
but the thing about Danny when he gets
on those streaks he doesn’t look back
Carlos Ortiz has just been solid for all
winter long from a northern hemisphere
standpoint All Summer Long down here I I
noticed in day one there’s always some
type of surprise typically someone who
maybe you wouldn’t expect to just show
out that leader board is a Sur when I
look at this leaderboard that’s what I
see here and that’s what I love about
day my question to you now is as we go
into day two how different do you think
that leaderboard will look well it’s
it’s obviously impossible to predict I
think you’re going to see some of the
bigger names the Stars if you will the
more accomplished players uh put
together some good rounds today but
they’re at the hands of those guys who
are eight and nine under if they go out
and do that again it’s going to be like
Taylor G last year they’re going to
separate themselves from the field I
don’t see that happening but you never
really know yeah there’s that team
leader board we had up on the the score
and here’s some social media iron
sharpens iron what a perfect quote for
the team iron heads what do you think
about this all I know is what far said
on the air he said those shirts look
like a Cracker Barrel nearby is missing
a few
tablecloths all right I love that Jerry
now let’s take a look at this crowd here
uh the craziest crowd that I have ever
seen uh I this was from the 18th hole I
know that this is a live golf event but
it actually looks like a concert of some
sort glance at it Smith and 30,000
people just following him uh what’s your
take on it jar well again I get back to
the people the austral the mentality of
the Australian culture I was talking to
Johnny McLaren who caddies for Paul
Casey yesterday on the ride back to the
hotel and he said you know what really
struck out stuck out to me about the
crowd Behavior here you had maybe one in
10 people putting their phones up to
film everything whereas we’re used to in
North America everybody has their phone
out trying to record that little event
for their their moment memory um here
they’re actually enjoying the experience
they’re enjoying each other they enjoy
the vibe they’re here to have a great
time and are they ever now here’s some
uh tweets from some uh fans about the
crowd and what scares me the most about
a lot of these tweets and from what I
saw I’m told day two gets crazier day
two true uh I have heard from our senior
executive in charge of ticket sales
we’re sold out number one day two we
only had a few tickets remaining
yesterday and a few for tomorrow um
today they’re expecting 35% more people
here than yesterday the exact number I
don’t know but it’s a lot well I caught
up with some fans earlier this week
during the proam and let me tell you I
had a great time Joe you got to check

about for day two is there anything on
your mind as we’re entering into this
day you know not not really like I said
earlier I think we’re going to get some
of the bigger names kind of find their
way and and get their feet under them I
think one thing that stuck out stuck out
to me from round one was nobody in the
top nine was one of our 13 uh players
who played the Masters it’s almost like
there was a little bit of a master’s
hangover and I say that cuz it’s a long
travel down here and a very taxing week
mentally but then again the guy who won
thech Masters won the very next week so
I don’t know if there’s much to read
into
that there’s absolutely nothing like the
fans here in Adelaide you have to be
here maybe to really understand what I’m
saying so if you don’t believe me take a
look at
this I think the atmosphere definitely
exceeded our expectation this
encapsulates what live golf is all about
I always love coming down under it’s
it’s a lot of fun they provide a great
atmosphere and there’s some die hards
out there got to love
it you know feel like we’re doing
something different here I’m trying to
find the right word to describe it cuz
it was it was electric right here we go
think everyone would agree this is the
most anticipated event that we have on
the schedule oh yes it was awesome to
get to see the product close to its full
potential it’s raining and at the
watering hole it was so epic it P the
tear to my eyee the scenes out of the
back of this comy box are absolutely
extraordinary yeah it’s it’s a lot of
fun I’m hyp right now the fans have been
magnificent I love the watering hole I
think it’s so fun and Chase ke a shot of
the Year going in oh is that’s one of
the Great Moments in live golf
history it lets the world know that
Australia are up for you know world
sport absolutely nothing like it here in
Australia Adelaide the fans are unlike
anything I’ve ever seen as you can see
30,000 plus fans showing up and here’s

asking why is it so important for us to
have this event here in Adela Australia
yeah it’s a good question Christian I
think because um since Jerry was coming
down in in the 80s and playing uh golf
Australian golf has really been starved
top level tournaments like this one you
know the Australian Open kind of lost
its former glory when Jack Nicholas and
Tom Watson used to come down and we
would get a sprinkling of Jordan Speed a
Rory maroy and some of the Australian
players that would come come home but uh
it’s really important to have a
worldclass golf event to really sell
golf to the general public because the
Sports Market is so competitive down
here and we really need to Showcase golf
to the waterer Community I was talking
to somebody in the crowd yesterday and
he he said this is this not only puts
Australia on the golf map to in the
modern era sort of to speak he said it
also puts South Australia on the world
map that this is a global sporting event
maybe not quite on par yet but pretty
close to being on par with the
Australian Open and Tennis uh Formula 1
as well how important is it for this
little corner of the world that kind of
lives in the shadow of Melbourne and
Sydney to get their due here in South
Australia yeah Jerry that’s a good
Insight because Adelaide is really
trying to become a sporting Capital to
sort of rival Melbourne Melbourne’s
number one Undisputed King but uh in
terms of like offering world class
sporting events like Tess Cricket like
Aussie rules Formula 1 and golf it’s
really important to Showcase Adelaide
because it is you know our third bigger
city it’s an amazing City it’s right on
the beach incredible food some of the
best wine in the world some of the best
golf in the world so it was you know
when I saw that live golf was going to
Adelaide and not Melbourne or Sydney or
brisman or Perth I was kind of excited
because it’s good to Showcase adelade to
the rest of the world all the people
that do what you do for a living that I
have talked to that do do show up to
events from time to time when we’re in
the states or abroad uh they’re amazed
at how much a I mean you named a few of
the Stars a few of these absolute stars
in the world of golf walking up down the
range the access that you guys get to
them what when you I know you’re
unbiased matter of fact you’re one of
the few unbiased journalists that I know
um what do you look forward to when
you’re coming to a live event to in
order to do your job I I I like the
access to the players is maybe a little
more free flowing than some of the other
tours I’ve covered and that’s not to
disparage them at all I think just the
players given the format given the fact
it’s 3 days and not four they’re just a
little more relaxed and a little more
open to content ideas and stories and
they know that this league needs to sell
itself and they they’re willing to share
those stories to help get this league
off the ground and get get the product
out there Evan we’re going to chat with

about that Watering Hole when I talk to
the guys when I talk to the fans I would
say that’s probably the most unique
thing about this event uh did talk about
your experience and how just unique that
atmosphere is over there at the water
yeah I’d agree with that I say it’s a
Hallmark of live golf adelite and the
two are kind of synonymous now you know
the watering hole the 12th uh I’ve
covered the Phoenix Open I’m sure Jerry
has as well and it’s the only thing
comparable to the watering hole here is
the party hole at the Phoenix Open and
uh this is a little more intimate it’s a
little more on top of the players I did
a i miked up Lucas Herbert and did a bit
of a walk and talk with him the other
day and uh he just explain man like with
with the fans on top of you you just
want to hit the green you just want to
hit right in the middle of the green
it’s 150 M up the hill and uh it’s a
very cool hole and a very cool Showcase
of
golf well we got some clips here of some
moments from yesterday love to just hear
some of your input on Evan and Jerry
feel free to chime in too I I don’t know
how this ball I mean it continues to
roll at a snails Pac and it just circles
the entire
hole and it just doesn’t stop it’s like
you keep waiting for some Mystical Force

Jerry my predictions kind of uh mix
between the expert predictions and then
where my heart is uh we’re going to see
some of the bigger names like I
mentioned the 13 guys who played in the
Masters who didn’t play well yesterday
we’re going to see a couple of those
guys play well today we’re going to see
John ROM my official prediction John ROM
have his first round in live golf
history where he doesn’t have a mental
block for two or three holes he’s done
it every single round so far and he’s
talked about it openly and my clicks who
I picked to do great this week are going
to ride the momentum of the Bland demic
that is sweeping the southern hemisphere
when Richard Bland makes a hole in one
on 12 and it’s going to be blastic right
it’ll be bandemonium bandemonium is

Mickelson had a great day yesterday for
the High Flyers um and and you’re right
it is it’s kind of unusual we got Danny
Lee and and Kazuma up there you know
Danny Lee how do you how do you predict
what he’s going to do he either wins or
he finishes last you know so um it’ll be
interesting to see how those guys do you
know with all of these guys stacked up
behind them you know those big names
well it’s going to be a fantastic day of
golf here can the Rippers get it done
can cam Smith get it done to Delight the

really heard of him and uh to watch him
become like the champion golfer but also
remain a champion human is is really
cool as well he hasn’t lost his we call
him a Bogan in Australia it’s someone
who just doesn’t care you know he’s just
laid back and he came up and as you saw
Christian he was filming me and said
what a w and I won’t use the word but he
was having a bit of fun with me a bit of
crap so that was good fun I think this

really cool you know like like Cameron
Smith he’s he’s he’s a god down here you
know like he’s the open champion at St
Andrews and he on his honeymoon in
Queenstown a beautiful place in New
Zealand he rolled out to a golf course
booked his own tea time bought a
purchased a rental set a golf club a
couple of balls and went out and just
had the time of his life posed for
photos with the green Keepers and
whatnot it was it was awesome it’s such
a it’s what makes cam Smith cam Smith so
I’m guessing in uh your predictions for
day two uh I’m going to hear a little
bit about cam Smith or what I think so
yeah all right so we do a poll every
single show Evan and we ask the fans to
vote on it in real time they can scan

with smash well uh we’re not going to
reveal the answer yet I know the answer

for in day two what’s up Dom suan
well I’m going to talk again about the
crowd favorite cam Smith I followed him
yesterday and he was driving the ball
really well I caught up with Sam pinfold
and he said they’ve been playing some
really consistent golf he made 32 Pars
in the last 36 holes at the Masters and
same as yesterday he made a whole bunch
of pars and really just needs to go on a
tear he said in the post round interview
that he left some putts out there we
know if Cam makes some putts he can go
on a real run C is playing well but I
turn that guy who’s playing really well
is Carlos otiz who I’m following today
since the end of Fab he’s had a win and
Oman 10th and maau he was one shot after
of the playoff in Hong Kong his stroke
average is
67.3 five in that period he is going to
be one to watch out for this week
yeah big thanks to Diamond suan we are

spot for that ball to suck back and go
