Utah’s new NHL squad meets their new fanbase

Just a week after the sale of the Arizona Coyotes to Utah Jazz owners Ryan and Ashley Smith, Utah’s hockey team had a warm welcome Wednesday morning.

it has been such an exciting day in and
outside the Delta Center Utah fans have
been able to welcome hockey to the state
and the players felt the love right when
they stepped off the plane Utah how we
doing plus I was able to ask them what
did they know about this place before
they got here what you guys know about
Utah what do you guys know about Salt
Lake City not much but actually last
summer uh I came here for the UFC event
uh it happened to be my birthday so I
took a weekend trip and stayed down the
street and it’s pretty short but um you
know I had a great time all right youah
let’s make some more noise let’s go this
is my first time here I’ve obviously
been uh Blown Away by the the mountains
obviously we have the the Arizona
mountains but um to see the snow it kind
of brings me back to my childhood being
from Canada and seeing a little bit of
snow it’s been really nice you know
everything that we’ve heard is you know
the building is always super loud I’ll
just tell you one thing Utah shows up
you’re seeing that here you know they’ve
had you know 250 straight sellouts uh
for the Jazz so you know that’s super
exciting and um you know when the fans
are involved and you know cheering at
you know nights when things aren’t going
your way and um you know they always
have your back they you know can kind of
give us some energy how we doing
guys let’s go so we’re really looking
forward to uh to having them behind our
backs we’re now a part of history and um
you know not too many people get to say
that they they can do this and obviously
the circumstances over the past couple
weeks have been um unlike anything other
but to be here now we feel honored we
feel blessed and um we’re really looking
forward to getting things rolling here a
great group of young guys you know great
staff uh great people in our
organization so I think it’s uh really
exciting to to be here and um you know
see all the support um you know we’re
definitely going to play hard for them
every single
night I can’t imagine the support and
love that the players are feeling
because even I felt it when I was inside
