I’m traveling the UK to find the best budget golf course I want to know which golf club is going to give you the best value for money to do this we’re going to be looking at three elements to rate each course there’s one rule each Green fee

Has to be under £75 to be in with a chance of being crowned the best budget golf course and here we are down at seah House’s golf course this is the first in episode of this budget series we find ourselves just north of Newcastle up in Northumberland the course here itself is

5,500 yards it’s a par 67 that opened in 1916 was actually only nine holes back then then in 1976 transformed to an 18-hole golf course and it was actually a local um Greenkeeper who designed the course and still now six of his original greens are still in play from

1916 and they are quite small they’re quite undulating now get this with it being a budget Series this golf course to be a member an adult member in summer bear in mind you getting this view here only cost you £465 that’s crazy drivers cost more than

That nowadays Green fee in summer is £40 a summer green fees is £40 that is incredible so we’re going to head out on the golf course and going to play play 18 holes see if I can break par here but we’re going to rate these golf courses

We’ve got five of these lined up for our budget series and we’re going to give them a rting out of five we want to know what the price is what the golf course is actually like and what the hospitality is like because I think those are three important factors

Obviously that price being probably the biggest one I wouldn’t say it’s the the winning Factor but if we can get a good combination of all those three factors at a great price surely it’s a course that have to visit and do as well comment down below for us on some

Courses that you would like us to potentially feature in this series we’ve already got three done we need two more that we’ve got potentially lined up but if there’s some that maybe turn our heads we could visit them let’s head out to our first te and find out if seah

House golf cour is at40 is a golf course that you should visit I’m going to say yes just giving like I pay £40 just to look at that that’s incredible right off to the first te so our first hole here today at seah House’s Golf Club looking straight back

Down onto the ocean par three it’s only 122 yards but the wind’s cominging straight into off the right so I’m just going to knock down a little a TI play a little chippy one I’ve learned the last few times that we played in the wind

Hitting it up in the air is not a good thing just need to take spinoff and hit it low oh stay up stay up don’t do that a tiny bit heavy but I thought that was going to be good and trickle up to about 3 ft just got to the top of the

Hill and rolled down the bunker so not the best start but off we go well not the ideal Place Captain’s charity bunker it just got to the top and rolled in sidewards but a nice little bunker shot just splash it up out I can either try

And fly it all the way or just let it land on and run out so hopefully be a quick up and down that was so close that’s literally gone over the edge of the hole I love that sort of shot where if you don’t quite pull it off you got that

Down slope to run it up to the hole makes you look like you almost know what you’re doing there well there we go nice little par to start the campaign we don’t usually get that but three I’ll take that so the course here at seah house is actually

Like a little bit of the coastline where there’s some amazing golf we’ve got Bamber Castle just up the way which is coming very soon you’ve got Dumar around the corner and the all really reasonably P green fees this one I think at the minute £25 up until the 31st of March

And it goes to about 40 summer obviously the big big tagged courses not everyone can play those and we want to show showcase some venues where everyone can hopefully get to and play these in this one with a view like that at25 it’s just ridiculous looks like it’s going to be

Mega the back nine you go out around the peninsula and it looks brilliant but second hole here is a par five 422 let’s see if we can get a nice one away just down the left side couple of bounces had a bit of a kick

Left that but I think it’s going to be okay off we go folks off we go oh bailed out of that so up on the next te perfectly on the te so nice to be hitting off a dry Fairway well perfectly pin High just a little bit off was cautious

There is a river running all around the back of the green I didn’t want to turn it into that but 20 yard pitch bit bold sit that was definitely a case of the early chips just a little bit thought that was in that looks so

Good for so long it just tailed off at the end just a lack of pace but two PS in a row we’ll take it we’ll take it my friends pulled it straight over the Trap yeah pin High left not my best work but it’ll do get the old lynxy bump and run shot

On the go here considering we’re right on the coast hit the stick hit the stick oh baby we’ll take that the greens look a little bit like Dusty and sort of scabby but to be fair to them they’re nice and firm and they’re rolling quick given it’s the middle of March and it’s

Been pretty much know as Ark season for the last month round here it’s great to be on actual firm greens that roll nice loving it right we’re now going onto the seventh cuz four five and six are closed they’re normally played around here the river just runs from the coast through

The land here and it just gets a little bit wet now and again but like I say we have had an incredible amount of rainfall over the last month so they actually look spot on but obviously trying to protect them but sth all them and we’re back out over to where the

Back nine looks immense with the seventh hle is playing 370 it’s straight down the river that I talked about is running down the left hand side down here but we want to just hit a bit of a cut down the left and then it play to the middle and we should

Only have a short pitch in ideally about 70 yards if we get a a nice one away today nice that the sun’s out oh stay straight that’s pretty decent just up the right of the faway I think that’ll do folks ball bounced didn’t plug what time to be alive just pushed it oh

Wow I thought that was going to be really good then it just seems to have gone miles that’s pitched like 90 yards wow I didn’t expect that to have that much grab I actually struck that really nice overall pretty H with happy with it but you’re sort of expecting release

This time of year but the greens are decent and they’re just going to I suppose they are going to play almost like summertime greens nice tidy little PA cooking on gas a farway fairway found with the Persuader love this club love it safely aboard the Fairway but before we hit our

Next shot that’s only 75 yards to the flag if you haven’t already make sure you subscribe smash the button just down below and also leave us a comment what do you think is a good bracket for a budget Golf Course here at seah houses summer Green fee is only 440 an actual

Membership full membership is £465 that is to me that’s really cheap I would say anything sub 75 we’re thinking is like a good budget price obviously golf nowadays there’s some courses that we’ve filmed that that are you know over two 3400 but we want to showcase courses that you know probably the average

Golfer the everyday golfer are going to be playing a little bit more as well so are we right in thinking that sub 75 Round that Mark is the average Mark and obviously everyone’s budget differs but I think for me for that you’re going to get top really good quality and still

Not be spending you know into that 100 and over Market but let us know comment down below what I’m going to do is fat the life out of it 50 yards got on the green somehow but let me go and retrieve that beaver pelt stay up didn’t hit it got a bit tentative

Down that slope then I’ll take it though after that terrible wed shot it’s another PA it’s another so the ninth hole actually shares a whole Fairway with the 18th this course as well used to be nine holes when it originally opened and then 1976 it was

Actually made into the 18 it is today the other holes were just the ones that were over on the road but this one we’re going straight back up to the clubhouse and then the back nine that plays out on the peninsula which looks incredible bunker to be scared of at 290 down the

Wind but just going to play a little fade off it so though should should be okay little towy but we just gone by it we’re nearly on the 18th green there just a big boy aren’t I big boy it got have blasted that through why is that going so far

That is bizarre that’s gone like 90 through the air it’s done pretty decent pretty decent a tester we face I can hear the oceans crashing against the uh Coastline just in the Yonder it’s a lovely sound to hear on the golf course that tidy this up and then we get out

There oh I tell you what I tell you what folks seah House’s Golf Club give me one of them 465b memberships well I don’t know what is a better view looking back down the coastline with the beach just wrapping around or this is a golf hole water just

Down there the Junes in the background a green just nestled in the 16th green is above it 147 yd to that flag nothing for being short obviously winds here off the right today I’m going to hit a little knock down eight I think just try and keep it out of that

Wind play it as if it’s about 160 so then even if I don’t quite get it I’m still dry because nobody wants to feed the fish here do they this back nine I am uh I’m excited for it goes literally all along this Coastline it’s going to be brilliant I can’t believe

It’s only 40 to play here it’s just a steel that absolute steel right come on let’s concentrate let’s get a little cuty one oh I’ve just nearly shanked that get over the water that’s very much in the water luckily left of the foot path do you

Know what I stood over that then that was the first bit of indecision I’ve had today because the wind picked up and it felt a little bit more down I’m not dropping down there I’m going to get a 9 out and go for it from here a strike that’s it I’ve

Really really not done my maths correctly on this wind I’ve just I’m over the 16th green so yeah a Time definitely wasn’t the call the wind’s very much downwind now I was thinking it was a crosswind yeah that’s all like I think at the minute if I eradicate stuff like

That out of my game I’d be a lot better stupid mistakes I think there’s my pitch mark on the wrong green then coming down and it goes to the waters front only need to land at 30 that’s got to be good that’s got to be very good oh I will

Take that as a double slash three why have I a on there that is just stupid that’s that tiger fade I’m working on but Brushy peeler oh saw that running on The Fairway then that gave me a real moment of Happiness that’s got to be the right yardage that could be very

Close get in get in finally just took me five bad shots to figure out the one good one little Brushy 54 no diver and we’ve got a tap in let’s do it so just thinking about this the price of a brand new driver at the minute is about

£500 you can actually get a membership here for that that’s that’s a little bit insane golf for the price of a brand new driver and the golf is good as well I will take that every day anyway three feet let’s kick it in there we go he follows that heinous

Double up with a nice little bit of a bounce back birdie gets the views gets his Greg Sano life’s great in the frer camp at the minute if you haven’t already hit the sub button and come and enjoy the fun let’s go and find the next tea the 12th

Hole here is 381 yards going back down I think we then go out to the right of the coast a bit we come sort of back down in before you play that as a par three you got to go over the Ravine here over the ocean just to a green that it’s just

Ping just on the side of a little bit of land there stick around to watch me make nine on there later on but I’ll tell you what you’ve been buzzing if you got a hole in one there would you that would be like probably one of the best spots to get

It oh bit towy bit left but should just be down the 11th I think quite get that it’s right down it I think that’s going to be about 10 ft might just be a little bold on the slope but good chance we know what I’m like with the flat stick the king of

YouTube putting his back temporar right just a bit more than 10 foot maybe about 20 down the hill left to right though I’m fancying it the back to back King is here that sloppy five the absolute brain fart of a Club selection should have been gatw you

Had eight iron in hand has now been nullified tell you what middle of March at home we’re on temporary greens and the greens are rolling absolutely fantastic here yester they’ve been a little bit scarified but 40 quid I just can’t get over how good everything is here for that price

Point it’s definitely going to get a fair old ranking for me at the end of this stick around to see what we do rate this uh on our little star system when we get to the end but 200 under par can I break p on a budget golf course it’s

Looking possible folks it’s looking possible let’s get on to the next tea take that one that do that will do donkey oh wowzers hello just ear another two stars for giving me litty views of the ocean there that’s incredible how I’m Blown Away surely they’ve got the price wrong something’s not adding up

No why were you playing that so slow well not my finest moment touch with the wedge is just a little bit out that was just too cute there almost didn’t give it any zip thank you shouldn’t have been in there because I could throw it in with a broken arm from where I

Was but we’ve redeemed ourselves should have been a better look at birdie but four all do as we enjoy those spectacular views wow very lucky very lucky wow the four hole here par three a bit blind you can’t see the green all you can see is the North Sea just there

Just bashing against the waves what a beautiful view truly stunning very rugged links this very very rugged four iron though 195 let’s keep our foot down let’s keep going oh that could be in the ocean not sure I think it might have just gone in actually is that a ball

There I don’t know we’ll see when we get down there you can drop one surely is it a water hazard is it out of bounds out of bounds out of bounds that two is a little left not that’s not going to be too far we’ll be all right with that one we shall

See my other ball is just 11 yards just down there just on the mud fortunately my second one is in play now means that I’m three off the te had a few wild par 3es we’re pretty much pin high but not not what we want there but an up and

Down save a five and then we get on to probably the best hole of the uh of the course I reckon ah each one’s just a little out just not quite got that touchdown yet i’ not been chipping off grass too much pushed it that’s cruel that is cruel a quick

Seven did not see that coming just that hooky shot do you know what’s annoying I’ve got about 40 yards of just open open Fairway there from the other hole should have aimed right and brought that in instead of hitting a pull hook aiming left is what it is though well we come

Off a an annoying seven there onto a hole that I’ve been absolutely buzzing to play 15th which is only 133 yards into the wind but going across this Ravine to the green that tilt right to left 133 into the wind it’s probably a three Club win that

Maybe no I’ve gone left again it’s near that tea box I’m on the other tea got a little bit of shot Club face going on today that’s the same shot that I hit on that last hole luckily I had enough Club to cover there I’m going to be pitching across

From the 16th T tell you what though worst places to hit a few dodgy golf shots aren’t there what a view go left take that take that we will I’m dead Happy Well I didn’t want to make three that way but I’m pretty happy with a three can’t get over how good this

Is brilliant absolutely brilliant not that much fade Matthew wind’s got that it’s just right at that pole I hit that really nice just wind took it it’s all over it and I said it was all over it just needed a few more yards half a yard and we were

Good like this type of golf out here love it love it well all those few iffy wedges from 75 today I’ve been well happy with how the wedge plays gone a few nice little tapping birds and parves our 17th hole hardest one now playing down the coastline here it is

Out of bounds down the left it 368 the good news is you’ve got the um the second and the 9th and the 18th Fairway all the way down to the right so the green tucked in the corner I’m just going to go pretty Central with a little

Fade keep safe and see if we can charge home to a a triumphant finish got that caught it’s safe it’s on the uh second Fairway don’t mind that little shot that little power Windom Clark slazer Ruka get down get down just into that Hill wasn’t it Splat little bit nestled in the roof

Here luckily the green a little bit softer on this one come on spin not bad considering how thick that roof was got a test it oh you hate to see it you hate to see it a little low lip out nearly went on me Annoying bogey that annoying chip was nearly

Good just a bit pulley with the iron saves the best till last that is a banging one up the right side about 30 yards from the green that all right folks on we go it that taken a horrible bounce then when it landed that look good then in the air that look very

Good well there we go wasn’t to be let’s find out though where we sit this in our first budget rating so it’s time to give it its star rating three categories that we’re looking at we’re looking at course condition course layout and surroundings and then the hospitality and the

Facility and if we start there I’m going to give it a three out of five there a nice simple little clubhouse the guys who are working behind in the bar and the secretary who actually met us and we spoke to Fantastic so welcome and a couple of the members as well that we

Actually ended up having a quick p with at the end they were great told us loads of fantastic stories about it so it’s three out of five for that of course layout and surroundings I’ve got to give that a four the views that you get out

When you’re on the back nine out towards 14 15 17 out round there are truly spectacular I know courses that I’ve played that are in the hundreds of pounds Mark that you get very similar views on so that is four out of five for me of course condition I’m going to give

It a three out of five simply that we’re playing in mid-march yes obviously the weather plays a factor in that but I think even in summertime there is a few areas that they could just tart it up a little bit with maybe nicer t- markers nicer Flags

But overall to see how good the greens were and see how firm the fairways were giving that it’s been so bad with rain recently in England I’m gonna give it a three out of five so overall our first Budget Golf Course being 40 pounds gets a three and a half star pretty high

Marks there and will any others actually beat it I will be quite surprised if they do but comment down below as we said earlier any budget courses you think we should visit and as well smash that subscribe button and we’ll see you in another video very soon

  1. Love it up there. I'm away in Northumberland with the family next week. Clubs are always in the boot if I can escape! This is great content Matt, keep it relatable to the fans!

  2. Watching from Australia, I pay $40 for 18 holes at my local course and $55 at one of the best courses in the area (I even baulk at that price). 40 quid ($80) isn't budget.

  3. I'd recommend Cleeve Hill. Highest point in the cotswolds, old Tom Morris course, beautiful views and less than 40 quid a round.

  4. I can recommend Bentham Golf Club its a hidden gem with spectacular views of the three peaks. An excellent course with quality fairways and greens, played for £25 on a Monday.

  5. Handsworth golf club……..a member of the 1895 club of golf courses…… You wouldn't expect the course to be where it is…..

  6. Forrest pines in Lincolnshire, its unbelievable for the cost. You cam get a round for £35 even in summer and its pure. The other option here is Seacroft in Skegness

  7. The YouTube putting king is back

    Temporarilibilirily

Little bit more than 10ft, more like 20ft

    Sinks it

    😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂 Fryer Gold that 😂😂😂😂

  8. Church Stretton golf course in Shropshire £25 a round ……great views of the Shropshire Hills what a gem of a course

  9. So a couple of suggested courses from me which I feel fit the bill and a bit of background.
Cavendish GC – £55/65 Summer Green Fee, Original 1925 Alister MacKenzie course. They try and brag that they are an 'Inspiration for Augusta' as well with the dates of opening.
Bondhay GC – £25/30/40 Summer Green Fee, 1990 Donald Steel course which was Danny Willett's junior club. Also has a 9 hole academy course and driving range
College Pines GC – £20/26 (lowest priced) Summer Green Fee, Heathland course on the same patch of land as the much more expensive Worksop Golf Club. Also home of Joe Dean who hold a DP World Tour card

  10. I grew up playing cheap muni courses for $20. I've found some nice places for $40-$50. But most places now are $80+.

This is a good series since many people will never play TPC Sawgrass for $700 a round 😮‍💨

  11. Who’s a big boy…. You are, killer drive btw who hits a knock down 8 iron 160 yds with a knock down wind

  12. Grantown-on-Spey is a lovely wee course which I think is under £50 in the Cairngorm Mountain range, stunning scenery with a good few driveable par 4s in there.

  13. My ears pricked when you said Bamburgh Castle. I have a black and white photo of me sitting on one of the cannons there when I was 6 years old. I'm now 76 and living in Australia, I bought back memories.

  14. If i visit a foreign course then i take most times a kind of a "after work" fee – as long as the sun still shines i can play.. In summer there's from 6 to 9 still enough light playing 18 holes – and then enough beer hopefully to have a nice time with my friends sitting at the 19th hole…. Such a fee costs 50%, that's budget for me!

  15. If in that area you HAVE to play Dunstanburgh!!! (Also think you may get Foxton or even Slaley under £75 as well) Then get over to Brampton in Cumbria.

  16. Matt, Dr Stableford helps! Solid 34 points scored! That's not a shame, that well played on a not known course. I like the your new series and will be follow you. Cheers!

  17. Budget golf for me is sub £50 but I love what you’re doing…try coming further south and courses near the M25…challenging the London ish YouTubers…Josh White Ash Mullens Bullard etc but keeping the budget intact 👍

  18. I don't think any golf courses within an hour of me cost more than $50 max with cart rental for 18-holes….except for one….$15,000 annual membership and you are then meant to spend $1,000 a month to use all the other ammenities like a ball room, tennis courts, basketball court, several pools, dance hall, etc. That's what I hear from others. I've never set foot in that place.
Anyway, a quick think and I know of a dozen courses within 2-hours of me and they are all around $40 for 18-holes and a cart. One place charges $55 for 18&cart.

  19. Is £75 as a budget price a reflection on the cost of golf in the UK? That's A$150 roughly and that's not even close to budget here. The membership may be bordering on the high side of budget, and fee on the day you played would be budget. But for me, anything over $60 (£30 approximately) cannot be considered budget. Value for money, for sure, but it isn't a budget price.

  20. You should come down to my home track. Hamptworth country club golf course £65. It’s high end for that cost. Outside that there’s 2 great tracks near me. Moors Valley around £25 and a par 3 course Solent Meads £11. Beautiful sea views from SM and bizarrely a 210 yard par 3 on a family friendly course 😂
