Eagles agreed to push that back to April 1 so why would they do that well it gives them two weeks to buy time to figure this out whether that means they trade them or the Eagles bring them back for a million you know give him his million dollar roster bonus and then

Bring them back um I’ve heard people say that they could cut them because they don’t want to pay him they don’t want to pay the bonus and he doesn’t have the guaranteed money left on his contract so they would just cut him I I’ve heard mid round draft

Picks from teams there’s not a big market for Hassan renck there’s teams that would be interested I’ve seen the Jags I’ve seen the Titans I’ve seen the Falcons I don’t know how much of that is real I like you see quote unquote reporters online and you don’t know if

This is just inuendo or there’s actual they’ve checked in I guarantee you teams have talked about Assan reic he’s an excellent player uh but the the market isn’t there because he’s 30 years old and I guess the bigger thing is he wants a new contract he’s got one year left on his

Contract where he’s making a reasonable sum for the one year but his and this is just from what I’m reading and using Common Sense he wants $25 million a year this is what top end tier one Edge rushers that can give you 12 13 14 sacks

A year what they command or at least that’s what they want doesn’t seem like there’s a huge Market out there to give Assan reic a five for 125 and $75 million guaranteed or $60 million guaranteed it doesn’t seem like teams are chopping at the bit to do that nor

Are they interested in trading for Hassan reic you would assume that if you trade for him he’s going to want a new contract if if if he’s going to be happy otherwise why not just stay here if the new team isn’t giving him a new contract then if you’re Hassan reck unless you’re

This but if if I’m Hoy Roseman I’m saying hey man listen we love you and that’s what I’m saying like show at least show them a little bit of good faith and say hey we’ll give you some incentives we’ll give you you know like for each each four games you play you

Get a hundred grand or you know what I mean like let him know like hey we really appreciate what you’ve done but we’re not giving you the contract extension you want yeah you got to do a little like 5050 action some of the incentives are easy to hit like you just

Said you play for like you play a certain amount of games you get a little bump this that the other and then you give him like the long shot ones if he hits them then that makes your team so much better right you give him a defensive play of the year incen right

And he goes out and puts up 22 sacks yeah that’s gonna be huge well how about like 12 sacks he gets a certain amount of money like make an incentive that that that’s what I’m saying you give him some of the ones that are realistic and then you give him some of

The ones that make him want to go bananas and then where again you’re parlaying that into a offseason contract so Hassan wasn’t fantastic last year he played at the level of his contract I mean he’s been with the team for two years right yeah this this is

His third year was he the player that he was the the year before no what did he have 16 and a half sacks and he had three in the playoffs he almost had 20 sacks he he was like third in the league in sacks and remember he also he he was

Hurt to start the season so he had a slow start Hassan re I mean I thought he he was fantastic last year he was he is their bet is he not best defensive player and I know last year and the defense wasn’t nearly as good as the year before right so he’s shouldering

More burden too yeah so he’s had four straight years 12 and a half with the Cardinals his last year 11 with the Panthers 16 with the Eagles 11 with the Eagles listen he still had 11 sacks he still had double digit sacks you you will pay you will pay any player like

It’s like Huff all they’re all they’re hoping is Huff can can do what Assan reic has done if Huff gets 10 sacks the Eagles are gonna going to be happy there a much better chance that Hassan reck’s get double digit sacks this year than huff at least in my

Opinion oh you know re’s gonna be on the field more yeah well I don’t know how many I don’t know how many SNS here yeah I don’t know how many I don’t know if his the percentage of his Snaps are similar to to what Huff was playing

They can’t be no he’s got to play more let me see no he so he was percentage of snaps and they don’t do they just do it by games I’m on pro football talk but he’s 73% 67% 66 67 68 72 82 80 86 87 yeah and Huff’s 30

Yeah yeah man he had I mean you you look at some of the games just trying to see in big games what he did here had two sacks against the Rams yeah he went on a run two sacks against the Rams two and a half against the Jets one against

Washington one against Dallas one against Kansas City two against Dallas it so be three sacks against the Cowboys last year that’s pretty freaking good yeah how many of you would be bitching with that we don’t have that next year right all right yeah I mean slightly above average last

Anybody definitely a team to watch also Arizona I saw mentioned as well because they have a need and Jonathan Ganon he had his best season under Jonathan Ganon go back to Arizona the irony right see here’s the thing if these teams are or these teams are willing to give him the

Contract of course he’s going to want that but if everybody’s kind of in the same boat of being like hey we’d love to have you and we can talk about it we could talk about an extension but we’re not going to give you what you’re asking

So but here’s here’s what it here’s what it’s here’s what I thought of which is flyer is now only up three to two as Delco Steve is squiring so Devonte Smith and this is something to watch because Devonte is in his what fourth year now

So they own the fifth year option on him where he would make a really nice sum of money for the fifth year option I should look it up right now it’s probably north of north of 20 but um if they’re trying and and if I’m the

Eagles and you look at you look at his last two years had almost 1,200 yards and 95 catches in5 15.5 all right yeah so he’s making he makes big money on that fifth year option he’s not he’s not going to be happy if he’s not we’re talking about

Assan reic he’s not going to be happy unless he get gets extended so if he goes into that fifth year with that a contract he’s gonna be pissed so when you look at you look at a sum that a guy like Jerry Judy is do we do we agree

That Devonte Smith so you have AJ Brown tier one you have Devonte Smith tier two and then Judy might be a tier four or a tier three or somebody like that he’s hard to even Peg at this point because when he when he pops he’s really good

But then like you said when he’s not on the field it’s just or when he’s coming back from injury it’s just uh it’s not good the reason why I like him as a player but I just I just need to see more of those flashes than some of the

Downturns yeah for sure I think he’s a better receiver than say a Gabe Davis but he also hasn’t really 100% he hasn’t shown it right and a lot of that that he can’t stay healthy but he also had drops and I and I know this because of fantasy football and

I I definitely agree with you I think he’s had some lackluster efforts with that those quarterback situations so that’s why I that’s why I would I’d be interested in him but still um yeah it’s so I look at that and I’m like all right if he’s getting 40 million guaranteed

Over a three-year contract what the hell’s Devonte Smith worth right like yeah he he has two straight years of over a thousand yards he makes catches that not a lot of guys can make he’s surprising with how he’s one of the best route runners in the probably NFL and

He’s only GNA get better so if there’s a guy that you want in that second contract it it’s you don’t have to worry about Devonte Smith getting fat and Rich and getting that contract and not being he is so focused on on being just like

An assassin out there I love the kid I really the real problem’s gonna be is when he does sign that contract because of inflation after a couple years it’s going to be more than what AJ Brown makes and then AJ Brown’s gonna be a problem all over again so here’s the

Question I don’t think AJ Brown gets a second contract with this team well that I’m not I’m not even getting to that point I’m saying as soon as AJ does sign then it’s going to be well now the we’re at a Crossroads with AJ so can you afford to pay $50 million

Four- two or five I had them going four- two four- two I think I pick four- two every year for the division a little bit better than 500 depend if I think we’re good I say we win the home games and we lose one against the Giants and Redskins

And we split with the Cowboys every year and of so since the Super Bowl they’ve went four- two seven times out of 19 Super Bowl they went seven seven and wow okay so they went 0 and six once one and five once two and four four times three and three only

Thing about that game was next day the sentiment was from the national people like man the Cowboys they really played hard they almost won that game and it was like it wasn’t that we waxed them in the first half well no no no no the expect like like the expectation is so

Bad for the cowboys that everybody just expects them to blow it that they’re like wow they almost beat the Eagles they gave away the game they should have won the game how many opportunities they had inside Eagles territory inside the 30 and the 20 how you know how they lost

That game because they’re the [ __ ] Cowboys and they suck that’s the only way they lose that game meanwhile the next day it’s like oh yeah the Cowboys oh they almost won that game they man the Eagles were fortunate to win that game they tried to give that game away
