PNP SITELINE REVIEW
PGA Teaching Professional Todd Kolb, and today I’m taking a look at the Siteline Chipper and Putter from PNP Golf. Now one of the most basic and common mistakes that I see when I’m teaching and coaching on a regular basis is the inability for golfers to literally get the face—putter face, chipper, whatever it is—aimed correctly at the target. And PNP has really taken that issue and they’ve addressed it in a lot of their clubs; but specifically today, of course, we’re talking about their new Siteline features.
So what actually is that feature? Well first of all, on the top of the club—I’m going to look here first of all at the putter—at the top of the club, there’s a little bit of an indentation there. There’s also a white line—it almost looks like a tear drop—like an arrow that points towards the target. Now, when your eyes are in the right spot, and the putter face is nice and square to the target line, the white line—the tear drop looking line—is going to fit right in the middle of that indentation. So you’ve got immediate visual feedback if the putter face is closed, if it’s opened, or your eyes are not in the right spot. So it’s a wonderful feature that way.
Now also on the putter—of course anytime you’re looking for a putter, you want something that feels good—grip, a little bit of a bigger grip on it; I like that. It’s very popular these days, gets the putter a little bit more in your palm. It’s got a good feel to it. I rolled some putts with it; the ball came off the face nice and soft. So I’ve got an alignment tool here that gives me an advantage to get the putter face lined up correctly, and I’ve also got a putter that’s performing the way that I want to.
Now when we look at the Siteline Chipper—of course, chipping is a challenging shot for a lot of golfers—alright, similar concept with the Siteline at the top; we’ve got the white arrow there, all those same concepts that we talked about with the putter apply to the chipper. Of course, it’s got a great feel to it, and if you’ve ever struggled with chipping, you should actually consider getting a chipper, because it can really help a lot. So you can use this from a variety of lies, and I did that. Some long grass lies, some thin lies, a little uphill, a little downhill, and a variety of different types of shots that I had. And of course, you can even use it from a little bit further away if you struggle with those shots as well too.
So getting the face aligned to the target seems like a simple and basic concept, but the truth of the matter is it’s something that a lot of us—probably a lot of you—actually struggle with. This new feature from PNP Golf—called the Siteline—that’s on the putter and the chipper can really help you with that. So if you’re looking for a new putter, if you need some help with your chipping, this is a concept, this is a product that I highly recommend. PNP is a great company, and these two products are right in line with that.
