About to be released in Australia, is the new range of RTX ZipCore Wedges by Cleveland. Glen Haynes tests out the 56° Sand Wedge up against his own gamer, the RTX-4 Raw Sand Wedge.

The RTX ZipCore has been reengineered with lighter materials, moving discretionary weight both lower and higher in the clubhead, improving High-Low MOI. The new range also boasts 2 extra UltiZip grooves, which are deeper and sharper than those on the RTX-4. The ZipCore Wedges are fitted standard with the Dynamic Gold Tour Issue Spinner Shafts.

All sounds great but how’s the performance? Is it all just hype and marketing or do the new Cleveland Wedges stack up?

Any sand wedge will be capable of producing plenty of spin from full shots. Let’s test out the Zipcore Sand Wedge on mishits and from those shorter pitch shot distances.
