This practice green is quite tiny so the pitches needs to spin. First three balls I clipped off the tee with an open club face and trying to catch it with lower grooves and not taking much divot. It is a good drill to learn shallow angle of attack. Last two balls I hit off the grass using the same technique. Key is to swing shallow and put pressure into front leg. Knees can bend a little coming into impact which helps the ball to fly in a flowing and softly landing manner. Turning through completely helps finding a consistent trajectory. My natural swing path comes a little bit from the inside and a slight draw curve helps against the head & side wind.

..Side note. Later in a round I managed to detach the club head from the shaft just in a normal 30 yard pitch shot from the rough. I guess this old Cleve have had its fare share hitting the steep divots from the rough. Throwing the club won’t help keeping the good conditions either 😀
