Pretty much echoes what this sub was saying all day Sunday. Surprising coming from a rival commentator though.

Here, here. What crap coverage. Especially 18.

  2. euphorbianghost

Kiz, have met this black kettle?

  3. colin_7

I mean on Sunday, yeah I would expect live shots from the leaders.

But do you guys realize that they have to follow like 80 other golfers? They can’t show everything live and often have to cut back and forth

But the 18th hole was horrible production. They couldn’t track a single shot either from Mcilroy or Young. And then the final putt it looked like he missed it from the angle they cut to

  4. apearlj1234

Would be nice to have the directors and producers of the 70s and 80s with today’s technology.

  5. How will Jim get his yearly sound bite without staging the drama to call it just so poetically

  6. PhillyPhrenetic502

Kisner is such a douchebag… Just go be the mascot for Barstool and golf-bro culture.

  7. Local-Duck-9084

Also the angles were a joke on some tee shots. The sky view half screen with a down the line of the golfer. Then you just track a ball flight line from a shitty reverse angle and have not a clue where it’s going

  8. PurkkOnTwitch

Every pga event has shit coverage. Featured groups should be fluid and follow the leaders…always…without exception

  9. OGreatNoob

What’s mad was Saturday coverage was pretty decent and following live shots from the top groups pretty fluidly. Then Sunday comes and it was piss poor in comparison.

  10. ejh1993

lol cuz NBC is so much better than CBS. At least CBS is watchable

  11. No-Mood3749

“Awful golf commentator criticizes awful golf commentating.”

  12. Conscious-Skin-2827

At least you didn’t have the fucking car crash that was Nick Faldo on the Sky Sports (UK) commentary.

    He is a complete dickhead.

  13. l33txxXXxx

This is what happens when you try to literally force a political ideology on an unbiased network and a bunch of competent people leave so why are all of you surprised?  Only the best of the best, right Augusta?😁

  14. SomeGuyClickingStuff

I know the Masters is “commercial free”….but for the first time I ever, I thought to myself “that’s an awful lot of sponsorship spots airing for IBM, AT&T, Mercedes and a couple of other partners”

  15. panderson1988

There are issues with CBS broadcast on Sunday, but an NBC guy talking about “a moment ago shots” is hilarious. NBC is notorious for not showing live shots, and they abuse the play through commercials as well. Every time the US Open to the Open comes around they got bombasted for the amount of ads and tape delay shots.

  16. bigstudley17

Kisners always been one of the whiniest fellas on tour

  17. patsfan1061

There was ONE play they needed to get: Rory’s winning tap in on 18. Instead, we got his backside instead of his hole-in. The money shot of the tournament and CBS missed it. No defending that.

  18. Frequent_Map9780

Kisner is the last person that should be criticizing golf coverage.

His short man’s syndrome never misses an opportunity to kick others when they’re down.

  19. gmansecondhand

Hey may be right in this case but nbc is so much worse every week

  20. Richard-Turd

Still can’t believe the crew couldn’t track Rory OR Cam’s shots on 18. Ridiculous!

  21. westcoastbias

The Sunday broadcast was tough at points but this is rich considering Kisner stinks in the booth and the NBC broadcasts have been brutal for years.

  22. jack3moto

I can’t wait for cbs/paramount to lose their nfl rights and for the masters to basically tell them to take a hike.

I think it’s inevitable with the cost cutting they’re doing to maintain the level of expectation we all have grown accustomed to. This is the first year I’ve ever heard people complaining about masters cbs coverage and I think the truth is in the pudding. It’s only going to get worse and worse as they pull back more and more spend.

    Fuck paramount skydance.

  23. dogoodsilence1

I was disappointed that they did not have silent camera panes of the course and hearing the birds chirp like previous years and the broadcasters talking every chance they could before the ball was struck. Like shut the hell up and just watch the game

  24. I_Enjoy_Beer

I, for one, am STUNNED that CBS did a poor job, considering the changes at the network in recent years.

  25. SkiPolarBear22

Honestly it was striking how much more the Thursday-Friday broadcasts were explaining Augusta and what makes it unique. CBS had a flyover of the hole and the shots; Friday had a vertical measurement of 10’s hill to drive home how crazy the course is along with all the golf

  26. convicted-mellon

Wow what a brave take to insult your direct competitor

  27. DatSnuffleupagus

He isn’t wrong. The leaderboard on masters.com was way ahead all day long. CBS even messed it up multiple times themselves. They showed Patrick Reed moving up the leaderboard after 1 hole of play during Rory/Cam tee shots only to delete it and then show it like it was live.

  28. NoArm7707

Glad someone said it, it was fucking terrible. Not just the tape delay the nostalgia and bullshit. I don’t care where the pin position was for the women’s amateur in 2022! It attached, Nantz should go, pepper sucks, Immelman sucks, Nobilo is decent, Knost just started the obvious so he should go, not much good there, way too old

  29. speedpetez

I remember the good old days when they would show the green number, distance to the green, shot number, etc, on practically every shot. Now it’s quickly shown, the removed, if it’s shown at all.

  30. jmk5151

So much Brian Harmon… Too much Brian Harmon.

  31. warneagle

broadcasting the masters ain’t no hobby

  32. TMLVWFC

So glad to be in Canada for the Masters. One spot all day on TSN and they do a main feed, feature group plus amen corner. Lots of golf one place.

  33. Not sure i agree with Kiz on this one. The Tom Brady analogy doesn’t really work because it’s one game so yeah you get everything live. In a golf tournament things are happening everywhere so you can’t show everything at once. I don’t get what he is talking about. And the NBC playing through nonsense just sucks, so he should work on improving his own broadcast.

  34. JustLookingForNow69

    The Cochellaization of the Masters.

  35. SliceMeHarder

It got dropped at 16 from any streaming service I have. So didn’t get to watch it at all.

  36. OG_Fakir

Are you kidding me? CBS golf coverage is MILES better than the never-ending commercial that is NBC coverage. Not to mention that NBC seems to think that all we want to see is putts. I like Kevin as a person and a golfer, but this is laughable.

  37. someredditor12345

Was so dank every time they cut to the pub lol
