LITCHFIELD PARK, Ariz. (Apr. 29, 2026) – The third and final round of the 2026 Big Sky Conference Men’s Golf Championship had plenty of fireworks on Wednesday, culminating in the Sacramento State Hornets defending their title and raising the league’s trophy as champs.

The Hornets fished play with a 23-under 841 (290, 270, 281) to set a new Big Sky Championship record for 54-hole team score.

That finish put them nine shots clear of the Idaho Vandals, who finished at 14-under.

The Hornets will go on to represent the Big Sky Conference at NCAA Regionals. It also marked back-to-back titles, as Sacramento State won the 2024 championship before the league’s one-year hiatus. In total, this marks Sac State’s sixth Big Sky men’s golf title since 1996.

Northern Colorado used a 9-under team score on Wednesday to jump up the leaderboard into third. Francis Marion (E), Weber State (+2) and Eastern Washington (+4) rounded out the field.

On the individual side, the title came down to a playoff between a pair of teammates, with Sacramento State’s Gabriel Smith and Jai Bahl both finishing competition at 9-under. Ultimately, on Hole No. 1, Smith secured a birdie to take home the league’s top prize.

Northern Colorado Kaelen Dulany finished in third, shooting 7-under. Weber Sate’s Matthew Wilson (-6) and Idaho’s Samuel Johnson (-5) rounded out the league’s All-Tournament Team.
