ABOUT LOUISIANA TECH
LA Tech enters the CUSA Championship as the No. 8 seed after finishing the regular season ranked 152nd in the country. The Bulldogs are looking to play their best golf in Texarkana at a course that they are familiar with, having made it to match play in two of the last three seasons.
One of the golfers who has played the course before is Morton Bailey who tied for 25th at the event a year ago. He has been LA Tech’s top player this season, participating in all 11 events with a team-best stroke average of 73.32 and five top 20 finishes with 14 rounds at or under par.
Riley Hnatyshyn will be second in the lineup for the ‘Dogs. The senior also competed in last season’s conference tournament, tying for 31st. He has 12 rounds at or under par with a stroke average of 73.57. He also owns the best individual finish, tying for fifth at the Louisiana Classics.
The third Bulldog with experience at the Texarkana Country Club is Oskari Schuvalow. Like Bailey, he has competed in all 11 regular season events, registering a stroke average of 73.94 and one top 20 finish which came in the season-opening Argent Financial Classic.
Fourth in the lineup is newcomer Abel Derksen. The sophomore has a stroke average of 74.00 with eight rounds at or under par, including a five under 67 at the Linger Longer Invitational. Rounding out the lineup for the Bulldogs will be another newcomer in Seth Campbell who has a stroke average of 75.07, having played in 10 events this season.
LA Tech’s sub will be junior Gray Kingrea who has competed in two events in the fall – Argent Financial Classic and Fighting Irish Classic.
