CAMBRIDGE, Mass. – The Harvard women’s golf team will head to Columbus, Ohio this weekend to compete in its final tournament before the Ivy League Championship. The Crimson will compete in the 2026 Therese Hession Buckeye Invitational – hosted by Ohio State – at the Ohio State University Golf Club this Friday and Saturday (April 17-18). The 54-hole tournament will see Harvard compete against some of the top teams in the Midwest while it sharpens its skills before the conference championship next weekend.

Notes and Storylines
This will be Harvard’s first ever appearance in the field at the Buckeye Invitational.
Harvard will compete in the third of its four Spring tournaments in Columbus.
The Crimson last competed in Ohio during the 2024 Spring season, posting a second-place finish at the Falcon Invitational, hosted by Bowling Green.
Vanessa Zhang – the 2025 Ivy League Champion – does have experience playing at the OSU Golf Club, her site for the 2025 NCAA Regionals.
Zhang finished T14 as an individual at the Regionals, shooting two-over-par in the tournament. The Canadian was only three strokes away from advancing to the NCAA Championship. Her T14 finish was the second-best performance by a Harvard golfer at the regionals.
Zhang has posted a scoring average of 72.6 through 17 rounds played this season, the best mark on the Crimson roster. In head-to-head competition, Zhang owns a 377-90-6 record.
Lucy Yuan owns a scoring average of 74.8 in 17 rounds this season.
Team captain Iris Wang owns a 76.6 scoring average in her senior season.
Harvard has competed twice this Spring, posting 14th and 11th place finishes at Betsy Rawls Invitational and the Terps Invitational, respectively.
Zhang owns two tournament victories this season at the Quinnipiac Classic (Oct. 13-14) and the Lady Blue Hen Invitational (Oct. 18-19).

The Crimson will prepare for the 2026 Ivy League Championship Tournament, which is set for April 24-26. The famous Baltusrol Golf Club will host the Ancient Eight tournament, which will decide the conference’s automatic bid into the NCAA Championship in May. The Crimson will look to improve on its second-place finish from a season ago when it heads to Springfield, N. J. to compete in the tournament next weekend.
