When it comes to ball positioning, we should never use our feet. It’s an inconsistent and inaccurate method for finding our reference point.

Instead, we need to start using the upper body and what we call a zonal ball positioning system. This system is super easy to understand and yields amazing results.

The back of the zone is the draw section and the furthest back you can place the ball is in line with the centre of the lead pec. This positioning allows you to hit the ball earlier in the swing arc, producing an in-to-out path.

To hit a fade, you would play the ball anywhere up to the front of the zone, in line with the edge of your lead shoulder.

For a more neutral shot, you would play the ball in the middle part of the zone under your lead armpit.

Now, we can delve deeper into how moving the ball affects other aspects, such as launch angle and angle of attack. If you want more information about that, please comment below.

  1. Hi everyone, this is Hugh Marr’s system who is a Ryder Cup coach & one of the best in the world. Learn your correct ball position & you’ll be flying!

REMEMBER: You can get a free short game or swing evaluation from myself on the skillest app 😊

  2. it's so simple, I do that buy sometimes I can't see how far forward or back my ball is at address. I'm right eye dominate and there for Lining up mt shoulder is not always spot on.

  3. You should never tell people how to play Golf, they should develop their own style and rhythm.
Some people can hit the ball using only one hand and hit is perfectly.

  4. Yes, yes finally! A coach who gets it. When I was learning to swing, every wannabe coach out there kept saying put the ball even with the left foot when hitting the driver. I would top the ball badly, which then led to drills and other BS. Luckily I came across Lee Trevino's advice where he said if you're making bad contact with the ball move it back in your stance until you make good contact. Boom! Light bulb moment. 💡 Been hitting driver much better ever since.

  5. I had seen many many video. Some said this some said that who rite n who wrong????? The most important is as long as the ball fly as we wanted. That's already good enough.
