WOW! What a difference!

This is the new, short pole, solid inner, version of the Durston X-Dome 1+.

It’s FAR more suitable for UK weather conditions. The tiny weight gain is well worth it!

I love the new solid fabric inner with the zippable door revealing mesh.

The thicker floor is a welcome addition.

I love the t-zips (I wish all tents had these).

The pack size is much smaller (similar to X Mid).

The pole ends fit in the fixings now 🙌

The additional guy point to support the Easton carbon pole is essential in my opinion.

After being disappointed with Gen 1, this is a leap forward in my eyes 👏

  1. I just finish Lycian Way with Durston X mid 1 and 15d fabric is just joke. Holes are made by just looking at it and I am not saying that with any satisfaction, rather with disappointment.

  2. Went to order it yesterday and the next batch has sold out! Looking forward to ordering and receiving now they’ve sorted the pole issue

  3. Mine arrived yesterday. Impressive bit of kit and hope to use it on the Cumbrian Way in a week or so. Durston kit never disappoints.

  4. Do you think that the solid version is a better year round version than the mesh inner for use in the UK? Or would you still recommend the mesh version for the summer?

  5. On their website it says 36.5 oz (1040 g)

(Regular version, stuff sacks, 4 stakes), but your video says 1.2kg. Am I missing out on something?

  6. I ordered mine about a month and a half ago and it is supposed to ship in June. What makes this one a Gen2 and do you have any idea if that’s the one I will be getting? I got the X Dome 1+ but didn’t see anything about which generation it was

  7. The short pole tent is the same size as the standard, just a different pole dimension for better transport on bikes?

  8. Great video! I'm buying one next week. Regarding guy lines. If pitch the X Dome 1+ on a very clam sunny day with no wind, but I want to use JUST TWO guy lines “just incase” it gets a bit windy during the night. Without knowing which way the wind might be blowing, where on the tent would you suggest attaching the two guy lines? Or would you not even use guy lines if it’s calm when you hit the sack?
