Stevie Richards discusses why it was smart for stars like Hulk Hogan, Kevin Nash and Scott Hall were smart for not initially coming into WWE #WWE #Wrestling #WCW #Shorts

  1. Na the big guys didn’t go immediately cuss it didn’t make business sense to go. Why go straight to WWE on 50 cent on the dollar when you can get paid the entirety of your WCW contract NOT to wrestle

  2. Unless you're in AEW. Jay Lethal, Ricky Starks, Deanna Porazzo, Josh Alexander all debut in AEW to a loss.

  3. Fair but a the best invasion angle would've been an nwo takeover. Like I get they got paid to sit at home. But imagine it. They come in and interfere on behalf of every midcard heel and recruit them til they eventually run in on the main storylines and attack the rock, taker and austin. Triple h could've played around on the fence for drama of the unknown, is he with us or not, play that off the kliq vibe. Then as the good guys are out numbered in a massive brawl because all the wwe heels turned now, guys like sting, do, booker, flair and lex show up to even the odds like they used to in wcw. But when the smoke clears they turn and look to their good guy counterparts, sting and taker, ddp and rock, ect …. They have a shaky alliance to fend off the nwo at the royal rumble or something then they all face off at mania. He'll at that point they could've turned Hogan face again and his iconic match could've been with Austin. If only Vince would've offered up more money since they knew the rating we're about to peak.

  4. If I’m getting paid to not work, you better pay me twice as much if you want me to actually work. These people were being asked to take Pay cut to go to work.

  5. I remember hearing from a talent or top brass allegedly that JR and others wanted sting for years. Vince then said is sting even over with the fans? That says Sting's days were numbered in WWE from the start.

  6. I wasn’t so much bugged by Sting losing because Sting made it clear in several interviews that winning or losing didn’t play much of a factor to him at that point, but enjoyed just being there. However, the commentary in that match with Triple H was insufferable. The whole WCW vs WWE banter kept dragging things down.

Sting seemed to genuinely want to do more and I loved his angle with Seth Rollins but he sadly got injured.

I think fans are more bugged by the storytelling during that run than Sting was in all honesty. Sting has been pretty clear that he was just disappointed that he got injured. Never talked down about the experience, always said he was treated great.

As much as I don’t like AEW from a booking standpoint, it was great that Sting got to at least finish his in-ring career more properly through them.

  7. Well there's a smart way of doing it, you can have a DQ or count out. Something that won't fully bury the other wrestler. Like Hogan vs Yokozuna for example.

  8. A whole company to choose from and the invasion still needed wwe guys to make up the numbers

  9. How does anyone just stand there in someone's crotch just to be slammed? Too phony looking. Fight for that move dammit!

  10. DDP should have come into WWE with a rocket welded to his butt.
When we made dream matchups in school with friends, he was always one of the most mentioned back then.
I don’t think kids today get it, he was like, extremely well liked. One of the top guys in WCW.

And they turned him into a dork on purpose.

Dude should have been fighting Rock or Austin.
Diamond Cutter vs. Stunner was something we all wanted to see back then.

Half the guys on the WWE roster, DDP had already beaten. Benoit, Big Show, Guerrero, Jericho, etc.

    It made no sense.

  11. It didn't work! Vince buried the nWo when they came in. Had 3 guys running away from 1 guy (Stone Cold) on RAW like bit@#es. Vince was never going to put over the group that almost killed his TV!

  12. Incorrect ❌. Them boys got guaranteed on their contracts. They were getting paid regardless of whether they were in wrestling or not during that time.

  13. The second part was more important than the first. If you are getting paid a fortune to sit out, why rush in? Kudos to Booker T, who took all the arrows first, and still got himself over

  14. crazy disrespect for DDP from WWE. Still, kind of poetic. Russo brought him to the top level in WCW, Vince put him on the bottom for WWE. Both kind of undeserved, but the fans liked him.
