hole in 1s and hole out's are obviously good shots but are lucky and kind of boring to watch over and over. would have liked to see some nice par 5 approach shots that didnt go in
The fact the Rory eagled the 72nd hole to force a playoff is nuts. Oh wait…and he did it TWICE in a season.
A shot holed from 150 yard saves about 2 strokes vs the field. A putt holed from 40 feet only saves 1. The best shots of the year should be mostly just the longest holed out approach shots. You could make an exception for lower strokes gained if the shot wins the tournament, but for eg 4:50 Hovland pitching in saves just over 1 shot, didn't win the tourney… I don't think it's possible for shots like this to be in the top 100 objectively.
Was right there for Rorys putt in the K Club, has to be the loudest cheer ever at a golf tournament. Great day

These players are awesome!! My favorites here were the no bounce holed shot that spun inside the cup and the pitch from the rough over the bunker. My top shot for 2025 was out of a sandy bunker from about 18 yards to 3" from the cup. Thanks for posting!!
