Here’s a pull-up technique tutorial to smoothen out your reps.

1. Pull your shoulder blades down your back and hold them in place throughout the pull-up.

2. Use a slightly wider grip, pulling your elbows towards your sides.

3. Aim to pull vertically instead of pulling back, then into the bar.

4. Use the front of your core to form a hollow body shape instead of using your lower back.

This is just one of many pull-up technique options. Give it a go, and let me know how you like it! If you’d like me to cover other types of pull-ups (arched, close grip, archer, wide, high..etc), let me know in the comments below.

  1. Don't forget to gain the necessary strength, that's the main one, no technical method will cut it if you are weak,

  2. This technique is limited, I got to about 11 reps using this technique pulling up to my chin. Problem with this technique is you can't pull to your chest.

  3. I get it, but add 70kgs now put injuries in your shoulder, lower back and left hip and reduce your flexibility by 50% because since you were 9 months old you were rigid like a castle wal. So I can carry a car but can't lift my own body of the floor.
