Now, when chipping, we obviously want to get the ball as close as possible, but it is important to manage expectations. A scratch golfer, some of the very best golfers our game have only manage an average proximity of 7 ft within 25 yards. Now, using the flag as a guide, a great drill that you can use is to draw a circle around the hole. And you know that if you can get your chip within that zone, you are as good as a scratch golfer within this drill. Now, a quick pointer that you can use as far as technique is concerned. As far as visualization, I like to try and use a club which is going to fly the ball about halfway and then roll the rest of the distance to a pin. In this case, a 54 degree wedge, but you can alter around with different flights when you are around the green. Now, for this setup, I’m going to have my feet pretty close together. My ball position is just going to be back of center. I’m going to keep about 60% of weight on my front foot. And I’m just going to move my shoulders back and my shoulders through, driving the motion with the chest. So, I just want to land this just on that ridge and let it roll towards the pin. That would have been nice, wouldn’t it? Hannah been great.
