Hey everyone and welcome back on channel. My name is X with Meta Endurance and today we’re comparing two shoes that really deserve to be compared. Uh they’re are two of my favorite shoes of 2025 if I’m being honest, but more specifically of the past few months where I’ve been putting lots of mileage in these two shoes specifically and there’s a good reason for that. They’re two good shoes. Now you’re probably wondering why I’m comparing them. It’s to help you decide which one is right for you. We’ll go through a few different scenarios depending on who you are, how you run, uh, and I will just share my opinion. The most important is that you make yourself yours, and that you decide for yourself what’s the best option. Let’s look at the specs. They’re really similar. Uh, we’re looking at 45 mm in the heel on the Vomero Plus, 45 in the heel on the ASEX Mega Blast, 8 mm drop, 37 in the foroot, 10 mm drop, 35 in the foroot. We’re looking at a weight of 253 g in my size US1 EU45. And here we’re looking at a weight of €326 gram in my size US1 EU45. The prices are €170 and €240, meaning that there’s a €7 difference in terms of price point between the two shoes. Is it going to be a big decisive factor uh in my preference between the two? Let’s find out. Now, in terms of upper, we’re looking at a nicely engineered upper here on the Vomero Plus. The big difference is between the two shoes, the plushness of the of the upper here. There’s lots of comfort around the heel. The padding of the tongue is excessive, but it’s very comfortable at the same time. The laces are nothing fancy, but they do work. And the fit is is good. It’s a true to size fit. It works well in terms of length, in terms of width. In general, I think it’s a it’s a no-brainer type of fit where most people will be happy with it. And yeah, it’s a bit more it’s a bit more plush, a bit more welcoming for your feet here in the um in the Vomero Plus. Now looking at the upper of the Azix Mega Mega Blast, we have something much more streamlined. The heel is actually still quite plush, quite padded, and I would say almost more comfortable than on the Vomero Plus. It kind of hugs your your heel, my heel at least, uh, better, and it reminds me of the comfort of the heel on the Gel Nimbus, which is a good thing because that’s a very comfortable heel. Uh, the tongue is much more streamlined. There’s not that much padding compared to the Vomero Plus, if any. There’s only a touch of padding here at the top of the tongue. It’s a semi-gusseted tongue. I didn’t mention, but there’s no gusset whatsoever. It’s a free floating tongue here on the Nike Vomero Plus. Semi- gusseted here on the ASX Mega Blast. Uh the laces are much more fancy. It’s the high-end textured laces that everyone loves and that you could find on the Vaporfly Alpha at Nike, but not on the Vomero franchise. The the upper material is a bit more pliable, a bit uh thinner, and a bit more breathable as well. The fit is also true to size. It runs a bit more narrow and maybe a bit shorter here on the on the Mega Blast compared to the Vomero Plus that runs almost a bit long. So, if you if you’re in between sizes, you could probably go half down on this shoe and you could probably go half up on the Mega Blast. Which upper do I prefer? It’s it’s a tough decision. I think both are are good uppers. I have a slight preference for the Mega Blast upper because it kind of addresses my preferences a bit more. But hey, on a on a recovery day or on a day where I want to have a bit more comfort, I would still love and prefer the the upper of the Vomero Plus. It’s just a matter of preferences. And some days you you want, you know, something a bit more plush. Some days you want something a bit more streamlined. And that’s that’s the difference here. Now, looking at the midsole of the two shoes, we have two midsoles without any stiffening elements. Pure Zumx here on the Vomero Plus, pure FF turbos squared here on the Mega Blast. Pa based, ATPU based. The main difference I think is the the feeling underfoot and the way these two midsoles work. The two shoes are relatively stable. I would however say that the Mega Blast is a bit more stable compared to the Vomero Plus that feels nothing compared to the OG Invincible, but still has a bit of that medial collapsing, excessive medial collapsing and very dramatic um velocity angle of the of the pronation here for me at least. And that’s due to due to the ZoomX which is quite soft, quite collapsing in terms of material but then also brings the energy back quite fast and the velocity angles of the pration angles is quite dramatic on this shoe. I would say that the Mega Blast is a touch more stable. How do they work? What’s the what’s the feeling on the foot? I said that was the main difference. Um the the Vomero Plus, if I had to give one word, we used to do that here on the channel. The one word section uh that would be bounce. Bounce is really how you could describe the ride of this shoe. It has that invincible thing in it. It could have been, should have been, would have been the invincible four. And the bounce is really dramatic, very strong, very, very energetic. On the Mega Blast, on the other hand, I think the one word would probably be uh versatile. The and that’s not a feeling on her foot. So, the feeling on her foot would probably be more controlled or dampening. It’s still a bouncy shoe, but it’s not as bouncy as this. There’s still some dampening effect, but not as much as as on this one. And that’s where I think it’s super interesting because the two feel almost a bit the same. The Vomero Plus feels a bit more like a boat on your feet, to be honest, because it’s a bit more heavy. It looks and feels a bit more clunky, like you’re moving with a bigger volume around your your foot. It has that sort of more dramatic uh explosiveness in terms of of bounce. Is it softer? I don’t think so. It maybe feels a bit softer, but I don’t think it is actually that softer. Uh the Mega Blast feels more like a nice feeling of sinking in uh of having that uh tension, that load being dampened, being absorbed, and the it’s more a mechanical uh type of bounce where the foam doesn’t do as much in terms of explosiveness, but it’s you with your foot strike, with your foot pattern that kind of allows to have that toe off with quite some energy return, if that makes sense. So, kind of foam assisted versus mechanically assisted in between the two, if that makes sense. I think if I I’m going to go directly into for who for whom the two shoes are, heel strikers will be better off with the Vomero Plus. I feel like in the heel here, there’s a lot going on. There’s a lot of that kind of, you know, absorption, nice feeling, and then dramatic bounce in the midoot, forefoot at toe off. Midfoot to foroot strikers, I think, will prefer the Mega Blast because of how the landing is very, very um controlled, dampened, and still quite precise. It doesn’t feel as clunky as the Vomero Plus. It feels more agile, and also at faster paces, it just shines much more than the the Vomero Plus. How would I use them in terms of sessions? This for me is everything up to let’s say threshold. So you can do some marathon pace, you can do some uh you know maybe intervals at threshold but not necessarily very long thresholds reps whereas on the Mega Blast. With the Mega Blast you can do pretty much everything maybe with a caveat when it comes to recovery paces because it just doesn’t feel as good as the Vomero Plus. And the overlap between the two would definitely be easy endurance, uh, tempo, marathon pace up to threshold, where this still goes beyond thresholds, uh, you know, 10k pace, intervals, and such. It’s not a track shoe, but you can take it on the track. The Vomero Plus doesn’t feel as good past that threshold pace. Now, worthiness in terms of price point, €170, €240. It’s this is a tough call because I think the value for money lies with the Vimeo Plus, but then in general the fun and the the price of what you’re getting in terms of sensations I think lies with the Mega Blast, but 240 is too much. I think the Mega Blast would be a beast at 200 210. The Vomero Plus is already a beast at 170 and would be perfect at 160. So yeah, I think this is, you know, this is my assessment between the two. If I had to keep one, not an easy exercise, but which one would I keep? And I would keep the Mega Blast, but again, remember that I am getting the shoes here in the office. I can try them. I can, you know, do whatever I want with them. If I were to pay for one of the two shoes, I would probably pay for the Vera Plus with my pocket money. Yeah. If you have any more questions, let me know in the comments. We’re here to address your issues, concerns, questions. Uh that’s also what we do, primarily what we do here at Meta Endurance. Thanks a lot for watching. Enjoy your run today. Enjoy your ride. Go beyond your limits and I will see you in the next one. Uh let’s maybe link here to the Premium versus Mega Blast comparison. We have that. It’s going to be interesting for you. Thanks for watching. [Music]

  1. Great review, I actually run in the shop with one on each foot 😂. Both for me a bit long so I went half a size down. My TTS is iEU 43 (All Alphafly and Vaporfly 43) Asics Metaspeed's 43.5 and Glideride Max and Novablast 26 are 42.5. I found the upper of the Vomero Plus very comfortable 🎉. Midsole VERY bouncy but unstable. Megablast upper is long and narrow.. Midsole much firmer… I was surprised that I didn't feel the extra weight in the Vomero Plus 🎉. I GOT the Megablast for €172 already on sale in the white colour. Vomero Plus was €135 but kind of black / green colour that I don't like so I will wait for the red one ❤.

  2. I have both and love both, but they are definitely different types of shoes. Having both in the rotation there is no overlap for me in use cases. Both are fun, both are comfortable (each with a caveat), and I'm glad I spent the money. *The caveat for the Vomero is there heel COLLAR padding, but no heel CUP padding at all. Fortunately the lockdown is very good. For the Megablast, I have had 3 different pairs now. All 3 have had creasing in the upper near the toes to different degrees. First pair was unusable it was so bad, took them back. Second pair not as bad but huge creases across both big toenails and had discomfort. Submitted a warranty claim and was approved. Asics let me keep them and gave me $250 to spend. So I took those back to the same store, got another pair and they're usable and I love them. Now what to spend that $250 on 🤔

  3. I don’t believe the Vomero Plus is PEBA. I’m sure I read its TPEE, very different from the old Invincible, it’s doesn’t have that hollow feeling.
