Highland Golf Club, Shelton, CT. 2009/Apr/27. Highland is a 9-hole course over 100 years old. Aeration equipment is one component to help improve greens and tee boxes that get compacted over time. The narrow tines create incisions in the soil to allow more air to interact with the root structure. Several trees were taken down over the winter that cast shadows upon this tee box located at the entrance to the club. Vegetation was also removed along the street frontage adjacent to the tee box, to improve airflow. Aeration of the soil is one component in the plan to improve the tee box to a better standard.
