Taylor. Wow. I’ve known you for a long time. I’ve seen you play a lot of matches. I’ve seen you bring a lot of energy to the court. I’ve seen you in a lot of really good rhythms. I don’t think I’ve ever seen anything like what I saw tonight. Can you put into words? Can you take a minute and put into words what you were most pleased with your performance tonight? God damn, this feels good. All I’m going to say is welcome to the show. I’ve been putting in a lot of hard work. I want to dedicate this win to my coach. We’ve been blood, sweat, and tears. Also to my son, AJ. He’ll be here tomorrow. He was telling his teachers at school, I’m going to New York to see my mom. So, uh, this just felt so good. I haven’t been in a round of 16 since 2019. I haven’t played a night match on this court since I played Andresco and she ended up winning the tournament. I feel amazing, but I’m really I’m really just proud that like I said to you at the beginning, I kept the main thing the main thing that you certainly did. Coming out here tonight, I think a lot of fans were kind of drawn to you over the last 48 hours. Many people may not know what to expect with Taylor tennis, but you gave them a clinic tonight on what you bring to the court. You always bring a lot of energy to the court, but I think something was a little bit special about this stadium tonight. Can you speak a little bit to this crowd that stuck around for a really late night thriller? Yes. Shout out to you guys. Shout out to you guys. First off, I also want to say thank you to everyone who supported me over these last 48 hours. Um, it’s bigger than me. It’s bigger than me. It’s about the message. It’s about the representation. It’s about being bold and being able to show up as yourself. And I did that tonight. You guys saw the real Taylor Towns in tonight. So, the last 48 hours were crazy. I’m sure these next 48 hours are going to be even more crazy. What are you going to do to be able to recover and keep the main thing the main thing for your next round? I mean, we’re standing on business on this team. So, hey, nothing going to change. I’m going to go in the locker room, get my protein shake, get on the bike, do my stretch recovery. I have double, so I hope you guys can come out and support me there. But the job’s not done. I’m happy with what I did tonight. But we’re standing on business and we continue here in New York. Thank you guys so much.

  1. She needs to ring Serena Williams and borrow some Ozempic off her pronto Taylor looks very rotund even wearing an all black outfit…

  2. This generation of black folks are so sensitive and triggered by everything. Everything isn’t racist. Maybe, if Townsend didn’t do all the antics (arrow shooting & posing) and other classless actions on the court, it wouldn’t receive this reaction from competitors. I’m a married black dude of 27 years and believe the Townsend’s classless on the court antics is a reflection of an unmarried black woman with a child suffering from underlying self-confidence issues, and needs the attention.

  3. She's very gutsy – deserved her win – played some awesome shots – earned her place in tennis – awesome comeback from the other "scenario" – stamped her mark ! – from Philippines

  4. Why is nobody talking about Andreeva's habit of self-harm? When she is doing badly in a match, she smacks herself! That is not healthy.

  5. Where's the disciplinary action against Ostapenko? It's 2025, and the WTA and US Open are still protecting white previlage and racist microaggression on the tennis courts?
