the short game can be a really detrimental part of the game it can also be an area where you can really save some shots as well at the same time so this year I spent a huge amount of practice on my short game but with one club and by that I mean just one wedge so instead of having four wedges in the bag from whatever 48 through to 60° I generally play just a 54° wedge and I got very familiar with it from a number of different positions a number of different distances uh learned how to flight the ball a little bit differently with just the one wedging hand and just got an all around better control so rather than trying to complicate the game by having too many choices in the bag I removed all those went to one wedge it doesn’t matter which one it is but in my opinion just practicing with one and understanding what this one club does in terms of a half Swing three4 Swing full swing all those things and like I said just been able to flight it down it made a huge difference to my game and my ability to score

  1. Also makes a huge difference in the rest of your wedges in my experience. If you get a good handle on one of them, the rest are a lot easier to map out.

  2. I subscribe to Andy as well Gaz, both of you have great content and are good fellas.👍
