The Chubb Classic, Naples’ oldest professional golf tournament, returns this week to Tiburón Golf Club’s Black Course with some of the world’s best senior golfers in action.
Now in its 39th year, the Chubb is the longest-running PGA Tour Champions event in the same metro area. The tournament tees off with Thursday’s Pro-Am followed by a 54-hole championship from Friday, Feb. 13, through Sunday, Feb. 15.
This is the sixth consecutive year the Chubb will be at Tiburón, the ninth Naples course to host the tournament, which began as the Aetna Challenge in 1988.
Here’s a guide to this year’s Chubb Classic and what to expect once you arrive at Tiburón Golf Club.
Who won the Chubb Classic last year?
Justin Leonard earned his first PGA Champions Tour victory at last year’s Chubb, birding five of the final seven holes to finish 15-under and win by four strokes over Billy Andrade.
