The LPGA was back in the states after a stint in Europe for a few big events. After a week off following the AIG Women’s British Open, they were at Columbia Edgewater Country Club in Oregon for the Standard Portland Classic. The field was playing for the $2 million purse and it was Jeeno Thitikul who took home the $300,000 for a victory, her 10th on the LPGA. It’s her third victory this season and first since early May.
Thitikul, 23, shot a final-round 64 and made eight birdies, and eagle and two bogeys. She topped Chanettee Wannasaen and Arpichaya Yubol by a shot.
Up next is the CPKC Women’s Open in Canada, the FM Championship in Boston then the Solheim Cup in early September in the Netherlands. The U.S. Solheim Cup team will be finalized next week in Canada.
