A Rochester golf course is trying to find those responsible for a vandalism tearing up their greens.
(ABC 6 News) – The Olmsted County Sheriff’s Office is investigating a vandalism at Oak Summit Golf Course in Rochester.
Owner of the golf course Mitchell DeCook alerted law enforcement Saturday morning after discovering damage on the course from overnight that looked like someone drove onto the green and began doing donuts, tearing up the grass.
OCSO confirmed that it responded to the golf course on Saturday, September 27th, at around 7 a.m.
DeCook says hole 10 had the most damage, but some other areas were also affected. Hole 10 was shut down on Saturday morning, but has since reopened after some clean up.
“It’s not good for business and it’s no fun for the golfers that pay to golf out here and have to put over ruts on the green,” Decook said. “We’ll get it fixed as fast as we can.”
The damages are estimated to be $11,500.
DeCook is offering a $2,000 reward to anyone with information on the vandalism.
Anyone with information is encouraged to call the golf course at 507-252-1808 or the Olmsted County Sheriff’s Office
