Connor Doyal, a mid-amateur from Charleston, shot 70-67-67—204 to finish 12 under par and scored a one-shot victory in the 30th annual Terra Cotta Invitational tournament played April 16-18 at Naples (Fla.) National Golf Club.
Doyal had seven birdies in his final round and nipped runner-up Dawson Law of Canada, who shot 205 with a final-round 68.
In 2025, Doyal won his second Charleston City Amateur title and also won the South Carolina Mid-Amateur championship.
Other South Carolina scores included: Miles Eubanks, Warrenville, T5, 207; Todd White, Spartanburg, T27, 215; and Sage Bradshaw, Bluffton, T48, 221.
Tiger Woods’ son Charlie, tied for 42nd in the tournament with a score of 219.
Doyal just recently won Monday’s qualifier at Dunes Golf & Beach Club to earn a spot on the ONEflight Myrtle Beach Classic. He fired rounds of 73-69 to make the cut on the number in the opposite field PGA Tour event.
CALGA at Coosaw Creek
Betty Palmer of Coosaw Creek shot 77 to win field low gross honors and Sue Gordon of Charleston Municipal won field low net honors with a score 74 in the Charleston Area Ladies Golf Association (CALGA) match played April 20 at Coosaw Creek.
