A disagreement between two longtime friends during a round of golf ended in a stabbing Saturday afternoon at The Quarry Golf Course, according to the San Antonio Police Department and the golf course.
Officers responded around 4:20Â p.m. to the 400 block of East Basse Road after receiving a report of a cutting, according to a preliminary SAPD report.
By the time officers arrived, the incident had ended.
Police said the 37-year-old victim had already gone to a local hospital, where he told officers he got into an argument with a 56-year-old man at the golf course.

According to SAPD, the suspect allegedly struck the victim with a blunt object before the confrontation turned physical. Police said the suspect then stabbed the victim, causing injuries that required hospitalization.
A spokesperson for The Quarry Golf Course said the two men were “long-term friends” and that the violence stemmed from “a dispute… over a golf match.”
The spokesperson said neither man was a member of the course and declined further comment, saying, “This is an SAPD matter moving forward.”
Police said the suspect remained at the scene, but no arrests had been made as of Monday.
The case is being investigated as an aggravated assault with a deadly weapon, and the investigation remains active.
