The Malbons designed the new store on the corner of Pine and Fillmore Streets with Dean Levin of 22RE. “Throughout all our stores, we want to create a consistent feeling but also an individualized feeling,” says Malbon. “We kept the historic features of the building. We didn’t want to take a lot of the character away. We wanted to lean into that.” All of the stores have a similar feel with the signature Malbon green and sleek modern design.

While some spaces in the golf world can feel pretentious and off-limits, Malbon strives to be all-inclusive, a philosophy reflected in the boutique. “We want the feeling to be inspiring but also approachable,” says Malbon. “We want there to be things that make people excited and to feel welcomed and not overwhelmed or intimidated.”

There will be exclusive pieces just for Fillmore Street, and the shop will feature the brand’s limited-edition capsule collections. Upcoming collaborations include a second drop with Grateful Dead and new pieces designed in partnership with artist Daniel Arsham and DJ Harley Viera-Newton.

While the store stocks classic shirts, pants and polos, there are also silk pajamas, sophisticated outerwear and other pieces not necessarily designed for the course. “The way we look at it, and what sets us apart is we make clothes that people like to play golf in, but also like to wear in their daily lives, and I think that is what makes us unique,” says Malbon. 2000 Fillmore St., malbon.com
