Jai Bahl is in his final year of college
Delhi golfer Jai Bahl has been named co-captain of the Sacramento State University men’s golf team for his final year of college golf in California.
Bahl will share the captaincy with classmate Zachary Matzke, adding a leadership role after a breakthrough season for the Indian golfer in 2025-26.
Bahl played nine tournaments last season, eight of them in Sacramento State’s starting lineup, and averaged 73.37 strokes per round.
His standout performance came at the Big Sky Conference Championship, where he shot 73-61-73 for a 9-under 207 total and tied for first before eventually finishing runner-up.
The second-round 61 was a landmark round for Bahl. Featuring an eagle and nine birdies without a bogey, it set a new Sacramento State scoring record, broke the Big Sky Championship single-round record and tied the course record. The university record had stood since 2005.
Bahl also led Sacramento State at the NCAA Corvallis Regional, posting rounds of 70-77-68 for a 215 total.
He recorded eight rounds of par or better during the spring and now enters his final collegiate season with the added responsibility of leading the Sacramento State team.
