Stenson, making his debut in Macao, expressed his excitement: “I am delighted to be coming to the vibrant city of Macao for the first time to compete at the SJM Macao Open this October.” Sungjae Im, returning after a top-10 finish last year, said, “I am looking forward to returning to Macao this October to compete at the SJM Macao Open.”
The tournament will also feature defending champion Dominic Foos, who made history as the first German to win an Asian Tour event since 1996. Chinese golfing legend Zhang Lianwei, a two-time Macao Open winner, and rising star Sampson Zheng Yunhe will also compete.
The event aims to blend sports with Macao’s cultural heritage, as noted by Lei Si Leng, Acting President of the Sports Bureau: “This year, community promotion efforts will be further deepened to introduce golf to people of different age groups.”
