Putter is one of the hottest technology competitions in the golf equipment market. It is an era in which the shaking of the head is caught, the gaze of the golfer is held, and the movement is designed according to different strokes. The keyword that has become a sensation in recent years is Zero Talk. The concept is to keep the face as square as possible by minimizing the force to open and close the head during the stroke process.
Now, reverse talk has emerged, which is actively used instead of completely eliminating the talk. The “technology war on the green” has become fiercer as putter companies have poured out their own solutions to return the pace to the target direction.

Callaway Golf’s Odyssey entered the competition with the “TRTL (tuttle) putter,” which was implemented in both high inertial moments (MOI) and zero-talk lineups. As the name suggests, I was inspired by the design from the turtle. The hexagonal structure in the center is shaped like a shell, and the periphery is shaped like four legs. For the first time in Odyssey, four sol weights were placed on the front and back of the head to implement a high MOI, and the focus was on maintaining direction in the miss hit by reducing the distortion of the head at the moment of impact.
In particular, the inclusion of TRTL S2S (Square 2 Square) in the lineup attracts attention. It is a model that suppresses face rotation during stroke by combining Odyssey’s zero-torque technology with a high MOI design. It was launched with regular TRTL and aimed at golfers who prefer a traditional stroke sense and zero-talk at the same time. The face was equipped with an Ai-STAR insert that combines solid urethane and aluminum, and sought fast ball clouds and straightness immediately after impact through a 19-degree gradient FRD groove.
Not all companies see zero talk as the answer. Ping Golf’s 2026 Scottdale TEC is a representative example. Ping has adopted an “on-set” structure in which the shaft sits behind the face in some models, but draws a line from the zero-torque design. It is a method that does not allow the shaft axis to pass through the center of gravity exactly, but leaves the center of gravity behind the shaft so that the head naturally follows during the stroke process.
Another game-winner for Scottdale TEC is ‘eye’. Eye Q alignment was applied, which combines black dots on the white head and long alignment lines. Through eye tracking research, the focus was on increasing the time for golfers to stably fix their eyes on the ball just before putting.

Titleist Scottie Cameron refined the traditional solution of stability through head structure and center of gravity more than torque. The new additions to the 2026 Phantom Mallet lineup, Phantom 3.2 and Phantom 12, are aimed at golfers of different dispositions. Phantom 3.2 is a mid-mallet for golfers who value control by combining a proper toe and a compact head. On the other hand, Phantom 12 maximizes high MOI and tolerance by implementing the deepest and lowest center of gravity among Phantom lineups.
TaylorMade, a representative of Mallet Putter, has also expanded its options to the 2026 Spider Tour family. A total of four head types were formed by adding a new Tour F and Tour V to the Spider Tour and Tour X. The strategy is to match the putter to the golfer’s stroke rather than match the golfer in one putting method by changing the MOI, center of gravity position, and Hozel of each model.
Spider Tour X comes with three Hosel options: L-neck, small slant, and double band. Tour F can also select the neck according to the arc type and straight stroke, and Tour V focuses on the natural arc stroke with the front center of gravity and the L-neck.
Among the putters recognized by many golfers, even roll has unique skills. It is a “sweet face technology” that minimizes direction and distance damage even if the ball is hit outside the center of the face.
Correct errors through grooves with different thicknesses and depths. This time, it introduced a new product that applied “Sweet Face Technology” to the entire putter face. They are even roll’s carls bed B1 (blade type) and M1 (mallet type). B1 is a traditional heel-to-thawed putter with a mid-length plumber neck (a neck bent in the right shape).
