A Beaumont golfer ended the summer schedule with a tournament championship this past weekend before starting his senior season at Kelly Catholic High School.
Reece Williams won the boys 15-18 division at the Southern Texas PGA Srixon Prestige Tour’s Vortech Contracting H-Town Showdown. Williams won the two-day tournament at Quail Valley Golf Club in Missouri City by shooting rounds of 70 and 71, finishing 1-under par.
“It was a good way to finish the summer,” Williams said. “I had a couple of tough holes late in the final round, but I was able to stay patient. The birdie on 17 was important, and I was pleased with how I handled the last few holes. Those are the moments you live for.”
The victory marked Williams’ first in the 15-18 age group on the STPGA Srixon Prestige Tour. It earned him an exemption into the 2026 Texas Junior Golf Alliance Invitational on the Legends Junior Tour.
Williams now starts preparing for his senior season at Kelly Catholic High School. As a junior, Williams earned TAPPS 5A All-State honors and led the Bulldogs to a third-place finish at the TAPPS 5A State Championship.
Williams’ next competition will be this week at the Bart Granger Memorial in Fort Worth, a 54-hole tournament featuring more than 50 teams and one of the largest high school golf events in the country. The tournament will mark the beginning of Williams’ senior high school season.
