STATEN ISLAND, N.Y. — Whether you played a role in organizing or sponsoring, or were simply an enthusiastic linkster enjoying a day out on the fairways, golf tournaments continue to make a massive impact on our community — and beyond.

The time-honored game also doubles as a great way to raise funds for charities, showcase a particular cause, and gather community-spirited support.

Organizers of the Emergency Children’s Help Organization’s (ECHO) 14th Annual Golf Outing are grateful to everyone who came out to swing their clubs for a cause on a day when the sun was shining, the greens were perfect and all felt right with the world.

The event that played to a sold-out crowd was held at the Eagle Oaks Golf & Country Club in Farmingdale, N.J., New Jersey’s only Jack Nicklaus Design golf course in the state that provides a challenging and fair test as a Par-71, measuring over 7,100 yards.

A Little About ECHO

Since ECHO was founded by Sebastian Angelico in 2008, the organization has been committed to providing financial assistance to children experiencing a challenging medical or living emergency.

ECHO’s Golf Outing featured not only a day of golf, but a morning registration breakfast, hot and cold food and drinks on the course, capped by a lavish evening cocktail reception and dinner in a colonial-inspired banquet room.

In commenting on the events of the day, Pasquale Lorporcaro, executive director of ECHO, said: “This event is so much fun for everyone. I believe this event transcends the game of golf and is more about the generosity of our participants. While they may all enjoy playing golf, their passion for helping children is the main reason they are here, For that, we are forever thankful!”

“We are so grateful for another sold out event,” added Vincent Angelico, vice chairman of ECHO. “Our loyal donor base once again proved their dedication to our mission…providing financial assistance to children during a medical or living emergency. On behalf of our Board of Directors and staff, we sincerely thank you for enabling ECHO to further make a positive difference in our community.”
