Bastard's whoever stole Pete's clubs. I know how it feels had mine nicked from my boot. Saving for a new set. Might go with Takomo Irons and woods

I tried blades after I lost my clubs in a fire, found them very hard to use. Pete did really well with them but the 101s suited him better.
Many videos have proven forgiveness in game improvement clubs is a myth. The only reason he’s getting more distance is stronger lofts in the “forgiving” club. Loft for loft he will get similar distances. And if anything GI irons will have a larger dispersion front to back due the fact a solid middled shot can go farther due to less spin. Blades or players cavity irons are definitely more consistent loft to loft.

When I started playing there were only blades. As soon as Karsten brought out a heel and toe iron I bought a set. I see so many handicap players using blades and they don't have the skill.

Almost anyone can play a blade up to about a 9 iron, with the right shaft. It's the 8 to 5 irons where the small sweet spot and slower ball speeds will be a bear. There are cavity irons that feel pretty close to blades such as the ZX-7, MP 243, Blueprint S, T150 or P7CB that could fit a 15 hcp. Just mind the 5 iron. I have a set of Miura blades that I love for enjoyment. I would not play a competitive round with them beyond the 9 iron.
KBS 120 is a pretty heavy and low-launching shaft. Something like a Recoil or Steelfiber 70g shaft would have been a much fairer comp.

Great video, the game improvement irons look great now compared to what they used to, but it saves our ego’s writing cheques our bodies can’t cash 😂. Sorry to hear about Pete’s clubs getting knocked though.

Difference was the putter. Also you kept telling him he should be using the forgiving clubs and the blades didn’t suit him. Not BTW because they are blades but because of the difference in lofts and shafts. A bit unfair to the blades that he hit just as well.
