  1. "Golf Architecture in America" could do with an unfeeling editor slashing all the word salad Thomas uses to bloviate. It's a must read but also an ugly, pretentious, sterile one. Sorry. Conversely, "The Links" by Robert Hunter is a pure joy to read.
    "Golf Has Never Failed Me", a collection of commentaries from Donald Ross, absolutely deserves a recommendation. It's a shame it isn't mentioned by name.
    Would also recommend people pick up a copy of "The MacKenzie Reader"
