so you’ve lost CL speed yeah yeah quite a lot so distance is a big thing yeah yeah yeah cuz distance I mean I know it’s not everything but if you can H the ball at a good distance it makes it a lot easier yeah cuz if you’re in a five l in as opposed to an A Time big difference and I for strong lead up can punch something so I get why I can’t yeah find that yeah Power from and this is a lot of people say the same thing think well I can I can throw a ball a long way I can kick a football long way I can I can hit a tennis shot long way with power come to golf and it’s like what is going off you know there’s it doesn’t there’s no doesn’t compare and you kind of see a flight of the board you sit you try to straight no I see a draw yeah I don’t think I’ve ever hit a f the bad one it starts left and goes further left yeah justs left yeah yeah got you okay good so do you know why it goes left top face is yeah yeah so so what what affects initial direction of the Shar is the club face impact so that’s the first thing is where the club face is impact is where it will start now it might not finish there depends on the curvature so the first thing is recognizing why is the ball going over there and then what we’ve got to do then is how how can we move the body in a way to change that so you’ve got a lot of this got a lot of that yeah I love that yeah but the problem is with that is if you’ve got a face that’s pointing like that and it goes left then we’re struggling now a draw is fine but a draw needs to start over there the moment you stand over the ball you’re thinking I know it’s going to draw but I got how much how how much is it going to go I’ve got to feel for that during at the end of it so it’s just it’s a bit of pop lo so if I was playing this shot to the 150 if I start the ball at the 150 it must start off Target bring back so if i s you kick a football to that basket imagine you a to the right of it and Cur it back in tennis is the same there’s always a curve to the ball so let’s just see now can you get the clo face pointing to the right of the target as opposed to yours is square now because you you go through this process of checking this and this yeah that’s what’s killing you to start with because squaring the face up is the worst thing you can do because because it’s going to start straight and go if you if you have a natural curve to the left your face needs to be slightly like that just looks yeah cuz we’re told square square square yeah and open that’s going to cut across it and yeah yeah but this is this is yeah this is what we’ll see so it’s the opposite to what you think so if I’m playing tennis I’m not checking my feet I’m not checking I’m like this but gol needs to be more like that you’re you’re trying to play this proc stand in still yeah we need it needs to be more reactive and this is what we’ve got to tap into what you’re trying to do is if I get this right I get this right I get this right that’s going to be right yourself up to success opposite OPP so my body is reacting to this shot so even this movement you could see what the ball would do it would it would start somewhere and finish somewhere else to go straight that for never you just roll it in how you put is now you need to tap into your full swing because you youve got what you go off is about visualization and Imagination and feel you’re trying to play your full shots like you’re doing your job like this and it’s not it’s the opposite right hold the club both hands so we agree that’s Square that’s closed that’s open yeah yeah right close your eyes and you’re going to spin in your fingers spin the club in your fingers keep spinning and then when you’re ready bring it back to square can you bring the club back to square do you know where it is and when you feel it’s ready open your eyes have a look jeez yeah let’s do that again up jeez that’s a bit of a red flag isn’t it yeah yeah it’s massive so if you’re trying to aim and you don’t even know where the club face is because obviously when we look at a golf shot we we can see it when it goes behind you you can’t see it see need some awareness so this is important How I build awareness cuz that was way up there eventually this becomes part of your body cuz I know I can from here I can feel that’s open closed I can feel that’s perfectly Square cuz I’ve done it so let’s go again let’s spin it in your fingers and get it back to square for me just soften everything up a bit so you can feel it that’s it spin in your fingers bring it back to New Square better yeah and it doesn’t take long to you get it so handle goes first going back handle comes first coming in yeah yes you can feel the the body’s gone the feet where am I looking so when I’m doing it I’m was turning around and it’s there and I feel is that right should I be looking at the ball yeah I mean obviously initially you look you check into more but as we’re swinging we’re starting to you know we’re starting to look at the Target yeah yeah cuz you you keep your head down yeah yeah that’s going to restri movement yeah that’s it yeah notice how far miles in from so just have a few Swings with both hands now on the little little half swings and I want you to with that feeling yeah with that feeling exactly it’s a feeling not a conscious thought yeah noce say you’re missing the map the club’s a bit too flat it’s too far behind you that’s why what’s that me sorry if the swing’s too flat can’t get it watch all right so there you go if you were to swing the club there you would hit that rub thing that’s it yeah feels different I know there’s no ball and it’s easier when there’s no ball but so the big difference is that open feeling whatever I’m just not used to that yeah good what I’m fearing is that I’m going to hit one shank one day whatever and then go back to yes straight on so let’s just let’s just have a few goes and just feel it little little shots arms soft and just little 3/4 shots don’t don’t worry too much about it look nice click did well there cuz that was a lot of pressure on that because like everything expectations are high and we’re fearing failure because of thinking Jesus yeah soft soft soft that was great so now we’re getting a bit of strike on it which is going to strike it’s so much straighter your AR before was like that yeah yeah now you want it more like this it’s actually hitting down down into the ball compression divit we want to see a divit not a not a scooping off the top on play how far it go for a little chip so the club is the last thing to the ball not the first thing so all of a sudden now your golf swing’s like that but before it’s like that but this club is responding to your body see now now you’re starting to move not as a block for yeah you got chance yeah and as you get better in your movement and you get more flexibilities that’s it’s going to make it even easier done then we need to we need to rev it up a bit more for the longer L but this is a good start this is where you start because if this is not working you got no chance longer and this is a good way to practi is because you’re sensing the sequence you’re sensing this handle coming in you’re feeling your body more open now all these little things so then what you’ve got is something to come back to so if you go longer and it doesn’t work don’t panic and oh you go back a bit you go back a level to that’s good and then you build it up so you’re not getting into this place where you’ve lost the plot or you overthinking it cuz we want it’s confidence if you lose the confidence and AR there right that’s it and just Build It Up that’s it low shot different noise now totally different yeah and again it’s great when it’s going well but it’s when you fall off cliff it’s getting it back and this is what we don’t want is then oh I’ve lost it and now on to something else you go back to that little thing build it up and then you’re off again so ultimately you become your own coach what it’s not about having less after the lesson about hopefully today is giving you the tools and then you can manage your game you’re most sports you know you have a bit of instruction you’re off golf if you’re not careful instr yeah if you’re not careful golf having instruction after instruction I’m got a mind’s full of stuff and you just need understand right this is what I need to feel and then I can manage my own game rather than going I’m thinking of something else and it just becomes an night thereare CU you’re not enjoying the game you’re thinking of everything you know right that’s it let it go that’s it totally different C far with three4 shot you know the previous one that that was a bit of your old one was it so the previous shot was longer more speed no distance the second one was a better sequence more out the middle miles further don’t make sense is it it’s got start to make sense yeah what a there you go It drives me crazy when the student argues with the instructor. The whole reason a lesson is necessary is because the student is either doing it wrong or is employing the wrong concepts. So when the instructor does his job, and starts to point the student in the right direction, any resistance is pointless and frustrating to watch. The only way to learn new things is to understand what you had wrong in the first place, especially when the instructor is explicitly stating which parts are wrong. If the student thinks he knows better than the instructor, then why sign up for a lesson at all? SMH!
Danny, you boys at GRF are so damn good at explaining the golf swing and allowing the student to develop their own natural swing. Keep up the good work. Cheers.
