US Open Champions Tiger Woods (2000, 2002,2005), Rory McIlroy (2011), Webb Simpson (2012), and Bryson DeChambeau (2020) talk about the challenges of playing this years event on the Pinehurst No. 2 course.

hi everybody Chris back with you talking golf the 124th US Open teas off on Thursday morning with first round action from pin Herz number two in North Carolina players are already playing practice rounds and talked about how the course is playing heading into the tournament for this golf course that’ll be around the greens um from what I remember in 2014 it’s it’s obviously generous off the tea in terms of the the plan card or that you’re asked to hit it into but then if you hit it outside of those you can get yourself into trouble and uh sort of this like Sandy waste area but uh like most Donald Ross courses it’s it’s on and around the greens where um I’m going to have to sort of do the most work and and sort of figure out what shots to hit around greens um obviously Martin here 10 years ago used the putter very very well um so just sort of figuring out what I’m comfortable with on and around the greens I think that’ll be the you know the the big key over the next sort of 36 hours looking forward to a tough test of golf out here Piner is no joke this is uh a ball Striker’s Paradise uh you have to hit it in the middle of the greens and uh this is a a boo weekly quote but the center of the green never moves so I try to focus on that this week this golf course is going to test every single aspect of your game uh especially mentally and just the mental um discipline that it takes to play this this particular golf course and it’s going to take a lot and uh uh we’ve been working on that and making sure that I understand the game plan and uh be ready you know in uh two more days it’s very long and there’s no letup um you have to be incredibly disciplined you have to accept 30-footers all day and that’s something that I feel like is a strength of mine is to not get greedy I’ve never been an overly aggressive player so I’m looking forward to that challenge it’s certainly going to be a big challenge the 2024 US Open teas off from Pinehurst number two in Pinehurst North Carolina on Thursday morning with first round action
