that’s nice and that’s what you can do when you have that one hand back hand you can really get around the ball this ball is really bouncing away from the court and that’s what you need to do you’ve got to stretch the court to Young miror just to get her out of position she doesn’t hit that powerfully but she has an ability to change direction up very well because she doesn’t hit the ball that hard not to say she can’t step in and use power as well which she can but she’s certainly not a Sabal Linko which is great for the sport yeah variety is the key isn’t it at the top of the game contrasting Styles yeah how hard can you keep hitting this is the French team how how hard can you hit the ball uh there’s got to be an end point saw coach shre lisar there in the Dian Perry box but also Julian Beno the French Billy Jen King Cup captain he was uh in the Box of claraa Burell yesterday when she beat Fitzy Jessica Pula the French women having a good week so far that’s his beautiful play that’s what you’re going to see little bit of transition play I did speak to a coach the other day and he said yeah she’s maturing and she’s improving and he said over the next 12 months he said I think we’ll see something really special coming from this young lady she’s very talented good start from the French woman what I like what fresh does is sorry what Parry does she mixes up lot the pace she mixes up the height and shape and there is not a lot of players that do that they just get on that front foot and just want to be Power Players I love seeing this style of play now that’s just too heavy it’s a little bit like when the top players had that heavy serve into Roger feder’s High backand that’s where he struggles and and that’s not too dissimilar to any single-handed backhand player it’s not comfortable up high that’s very interesting just being able to just change the returns to slice give a different look to Andre AA clever little return that wasn’t it very little bit of tactical play going out here I like what parry’s doing she’s just testing her just throwing some softer balls in some slices taking time away hitting heavy just about tested all the different dimensions of the Court looking the more settled here two points nice little touch there 13 14 I’ve also got some variation it’s not a a natural looking backhand slice here it’s a two-handed one and stays rather front on a lot of the Eastern European players use their backhand slice like that Ken Rosell Rod Le be happy to see that one Andre is getting pushed back by this heavy top Top Spin of Diane Parry she’s uh she’s got some adjustments to make here Parry with the fast start an early break in a two love lead she’s in the driving seat isn’t she and you’re right there’s many different ways to get your opponent into a negative situation some is height and shape some is some ways are through depth and power others through angle and she’s doing two of those very well the height and shape And then trying to find a little bit of an angle she’s also coming forwards which is great to see very good start here from The Young French woman [Applause] I love that pattern of play though from players it I call it a build to attack so you hit this heavier ball so you go up get the player moving backwards now you’re inside the court you can attack that is just a great combination just not looking good comfortable at the moment is she Catherine it’s really really smart tennis I think from uh Parry at the moment she’s shown there that she does have the power but she’s very clever about when she deploys it isn’t she this is really interesting these early stages yeah I think what she’s trying to do also is not to give too much power and and Pace to Andre letting her create trying to use or manufacture her own pace but uh yeah the mixing up that height and shape and just pushing her back away from the Baseline does not allow Andre AA to really get an opportunity yeah there it is again this is Sublime from the French wom just now very composed tennis isn’t it it’s it’s 100% tactical she’s doing all of this for a purpose and dve like yeah amazing she has got it all covered just [Music] now love love possible just hint of panic here from the teenager such a different Prospect to what she f face 2 days ago good serve I wonder also I mean you’re 16 and you have to do a lot of uh media after a match like that and you probably you know you speak to a thousand people walking around the corridors and downstairs all in the players area I wonder if she’s not feeling a little bit mentally f I mean that’s probably the biggest moment she would have had to answer a lot of people saying well done yeah it’s an interesting point and she the brain is is such a weapon that if if that’s depleted at all in in power that’s going to affect her more than a lot of players a lot of players are just on autopilot aren’t they and that’s totally not hurt interesting point oh wa please oh B lck there W what I think it will give us is a very interesting insight into how she can combat this situation and if she can turn it around and how she does it I I’m really very very interested in in this situation point for a full love lead for the 21y old just wondering also there this is where she starts turning over and thinking as well what is the shot tolerance of Parry so my opponent is now hasn’t really missed many shot she’s mixing it up she’s doing different things how many balls do I have to keep in play just to make her feel like okay I’ve got to finish the shot here and I think we’re just starting to see some of that information on fold she’s data Gathering love that she wasn’t missing many of those 48 hours ago against on Jaber but she’s being put in tougher spots by Diane Perry quite frankly such a different match another break point got that to kick up didn’t she to the singlehander that’s going to be crucial as you said L for Andrea today the other thing that I’m starting to extract out of what Andre AA is doing here she’s going a little bit more now to the forehand side which is interesting she’s must be thinking okay that backand high to my backand is not really working let’s see if I can go into the forehand side but I think also the forehand equally has a lot of variation on it from Perry you just don’t know what’s coming next off the racket of Diane Parry right now she’s showing us everything that she’s got and it is impressive that’s a double break and a full love [Music] lead well she looks pretty cool and collected doesn’t she we don’t always see that from the French players they sometimes get a little emotional and and wound up but she just looks like she’s taking it all in herstead and uh the eyes are all on miror andreeva just to see how she can find ways in this match 15 big year for French players this year isn’t it with the home Olympics yeah correct I was uh looking up eligibility earlier and rankings cut offs it it’s complicated forget that I’ll try and explain it try not to bore you to death you yeah how many from each country gets in maximum of four rankings cut off of 56 although the home the host nations of France can have an extra a player so five like a wild card kind of thing if they’re within the rankings cut off which is likely to be around 56 shot tolerance look good there didn’t it but the other thing is you have to have participated in the requisite number of Davis Caro Billy Jean King Cup ties for your nation uh in within the Olympic cycle and I think Diane Perry has to participate in the next Billy Jen King Cup tie to be eligible and you would expect her to be on that team and the captain Julian Beno watching on today yeah but these are all the things Dian parry’s playing for right now and she’s doing a Dar good job five love [Applause] and dver of course uh lives and trains in France in the south of France wouldn’t that be nice oh just went for too much there to finish the shot but you can see how all over that second serve Dian Parry was well inside the court to take it and D will have to kick up that second serve I think put as much on it as she can for well that’s nice we haven’t seen just those three easy points flowing today from Mirror 179 we do know she’s got a powerful serve it’s whether she can land it a little bit more and use that to better effect see a lot of players would use that pattern kick into the high back hand get the slice get around and just rip the forehand inside in to open up the court just not feeling it at the moment and then going for this shot here [Applause] Mar lead by five games to one so finally on the board that’s uh all she could do at that point got to feel good no one wants a bagel set do they L definitely not a double Bagel absolutely not you don’t want another double Bagel today no I’ve already had a Quant so I’m going the other side I’m on the French side Lou was covering savena Sereno earlier she is on a Mission Arena sabalenka yeah you’re right see the double bag yeah that’s good play now she’s preparing the backand a little bit just trying to find some inroads here and this is what I think she does very well she just thinks through things extremely well but then she’s got this ability to play difficult shots but but to be able to land them in the right positions from way off the court there to be able to put that down the line good defense into attack there from [Applause] andrea3 a lot more patient Now isn’t she and just kind of going okay well if you’re going to hit these heavy shots I’m just going to run back and deal them back again make you move and look for that open spot off the right one I don’t know whether the legs weren’t quite there from Parry to get that one or just really didn’t read it little bit more energy now coming from miror body language is much better I think she’s feeling like she’s figured a few things out and she starting to extract a few more errors from Diane Parry so that’s going to release some pressure oh she does Miss okay some break points of her own [Applause] sometimes can be just subtle changes and all of a sudden Andre is making more plays and Parry is sensing that she’s got to do more that’s maybe where she might start to overplay just a a fraction that’s great makes the width because she’s an angular player she plays a lot on Clay she has this ability there’s a a gift that a lot of the clay cords have and they get to use that serve with good slice they open up the court they they work the dimensions a little bit differently than hardcore players or players that grow up on a faster surface we they points go by the wayside two points away from the set now Parry not by much this is clever serving oh that was good point construction coach is nodding because that’s a good just missing narrowly on the close call there but just constructing the points just really thoughtfully what can meor do now can she just start to write the ship a little bit which she really needs to clever serve love that description of of Parry is an angular player that’s so captures her doesn’t it [Applause] Advantage par Andre Vera and a set point for Diane Parry her first after 30 minutes out here on court number three another loose one from Andrea and a comprehensive first set for the 21-year-old French wom Diane Perry six games to one maybe just in that break she’s had a little bit of clarity time to think about what she needs to do this is going to be a a test hit how she thinks how do I stop feeling like I’m defending all the time how do I get on the front foot how do I feel like I’m imposing more she’s got to figure that out that was more of a game of chess from and over wasn’t it and a first come on from the youngster let’s see how often she uses that play I think she’s got to get better as well at handling that short slice ball from Parry she’s not doing enough for my liking from that position of the court that ball there that shot that comes after the slice she’s not being effective enough enough and positive enough off that shot close is call we’ll call that yeah that’s another area where I think attention needs to be paid in Andre A’s game that second serve just she can be a little bit more physical on the serve and big game that FR D first game second set is exactly what you’d expect from a 16 old not 17 until June she’s clearly a talent but there was just a golfing class and experience and it did underline how extraordinary that performance from Andrea had been I do think there’s a spot for players like Andre on the court that generally just come out and put pressure on players because they read the game so well and they make a million balls and we do know that players can be a little emotional if their game style isn’t working and and then added the value who wants to lose to a 15 or 16y old last year 15 so she got some wins incredibly against players that well they’ve been on the tour for 5 10 years and playing someone with very little experience it puts a lot of pressure on players different situation now though if you you’re on the in the drawer and you see Andre AA in your part of the draw there’s no oh I you know I’m going to feel a little worried about that match no you go out and you you think that this young girl is going to tear you apart have a different mindset and respect oh 45 just squeezed it down the line we’ve seen so few shots like that from Andrea so far today it’s got to feel good did it catch it did Barry Barry’s raising an eyebrow but it certainly did she was covering the cross the uh down the line wasn’t she Parry oh this is where the tables have got to turn this is where Andre has got to be tough here to get back into this match how turn to find the line the outside of the line well beautiful shot here can’t go back towards her movement there very hard to prop but not only that it’s the three quter positioning that’s so good she’s fighting back here Parry does not want to lose this momentum that she’s built [Music] [Music] I think the wind just got up a little bit that Rally wward from Andrea but we do seem to have a contest on our hands in the second set I just feel there’s now a little bit of Engagement interaction between the two it was oneway traffic early on with Parry she just had to she seemed to have the template of what was working out here and what was hurting Andre AA now there’s been a little shift I do feel that Andre AA is thinking about just throwing a little bit of variation in this match herself so wanting to be a bit more aggressive tried to get the big kick on that but ballooned right idea though the kick is uh it’s having an impact for sure it’s not the biggest serve but she does place it so well and it’ll get bigger naturally yeah you know to be serving how fastest serve 179 today not bad for a 16-year-old no absolutely 1 151 thir old well this is such an important game for one player just to really grab hold of this little shift in momentum Andre AA really needs it just to get a foothold in this set a oh what a pick up from Andre I thought that was going to be an outright winner from Perry it just didn’t have quite enough juice on it sometimes I I think at the very end of some of these rallies Perry is just going out after these shots because she’s just starting to fatigue a little this is a little fatigue here a bit flat on that forehand it had the juice in air and then somehow when it hit the court it just set up enough for Andre to get there didn’t it loaded with Top Spin gorgeous shot but not enough game point and game for Mira Andre he has the lead again in this second set good fight from the youngster 2-1 love p 15 you know yeah beautiful loves the Target and just keeps her cool here this has been working with Parry but she’s got to be a little bit more careful to come in when mirror is not standing right behind that ball and having balance like this loves uh to find a little alley past her opponent and does oh 15 14 first time she’s looked just a little rushed in this game Parry it’s not a dramatic explosive turnaround from Andrea it’s just well it’s typical Andrea moving the chest pieces two break points for the young Russian and a Ser Vol from Diane Parry that does not get the job done a nice idea but not the right execution not against someone with Andrea’s Court sense so this is a a very good turnaround here for young Mira Andrea this is what she’s been working to try to [Applause] do there just the correction of the score there on screen now yeah starting to work she’s figured that one out a little bit hasn’t she tried it a few times in the first set and just not quite at the right times or not the right execution but an indication she’s that much more settled and comfortable now the real Miran draver is come to play rushed again Parry there feels like such a different match all of a sudden now on the front foot it’s amazing isn’t it when you go from cortisol and that sort of real negative uh kind of Endor um chemical in the brain to somewhat of an endorphin when you’re when you’re winning when you’re think things are starting to happen it’s a different [Applause] feeling just all those things were working that were [Applause] really just being able to be placed well she had good depth she good consistency just a little bit fractured at the moment love than just those shots that were looking so positive and so controlled now just there a little bit of Doubt definitely creeping in for the young French woman oh very nice 1 14 likes a backand a lot more Andre than the forehand you can see when that ball comes through the middle of the Court she’ll keep stepping away from the forehand to hit that backand h oh longest point of the match by far that was a real tow to toe a test of shot tolerance for both and know about you L but my money was on Andrea yeah that’s going to give a little boost of confidence right back to Parry here still break point though it’s a tougher shot than it looks that but still still it’s going to hurt for Diane Parry what a turnaround Mir and D five to one 51 and serving for the second set puffing hard now Diane Perry she’s a fit young lady but this is it’s stressful isn’t it these situations you cannot train for stressful and now physical and you often see that don’t you after some long rallies particularly when you don’t get on the positive side of of winning them just a couple of quick rally trying to get some cheap points here maybe Parry is thinking this set is maybe a lost cause and to focus on the next one that Court sense coming into play isn’t it there’s margin on these shots doesn’t feel like she’s taking too much risk but it’s doing the damage pulled out wide out of position she’s struggling in those positions Diane Parry just now and and dver is a master of putting her in them so here she stands with three set points for a score line that would match her opponents in the opener oh she went for do you mind that I don’t mind that well if you’re going to throw one in everyone says that’s the best time when you’re 40 love up three there the last two times she missed the double fult it was around the 120 Mark 130 so really decelerating so I’d rather see that she wasn’t missing those in set number one [Applause] start building some Integrity here Parry early on get on top of this confidence this young confident player Andrea she’s really playing a lot more of her own game style Perry needs to break that down that’s the stuff hard into that back can getting the short ball putting it away yep she’s inside the court taking the initiative and that’s what she needs to do more of 14 15 oh set herself up well so often and then missed that little bit of a shorter forehand there on some of these rallies but really controlling that that that’s reminds me a little bit more of what was happening in that first set just didn’t execute that ball where she was do you like the moon ball from Andrea mid rally there yeah I I like that she’s combating what Parry is doing Parry has slowed down the play again and just trying to get things back the way she likes it and it’s done the trick there and there’s not many players that can do this Andre evera would not really practice against players that just he slice slice low Ball slow ball high ball this is not the norm on the WTA tour yeah that’s such a good point isn’t it it’s such a a secret weapon of players that have unusual games that it’s not only tricky to play against But It’s tricky to prepare to play against yeah Mir Andre is not going to be able to find many practice partners that play the game like Diane Parry does she then she does that cuz if you play fast you have to move faster so that’s why Perry Perry is able to just slow the pace up because then she can use her feet get around her dominant side is the forehand side she likes to finish from that part of the Court like that that’s where she can use the change up ball high and heavy draw the short ball and then really use the pace and power so now in trouble here onrea taking a couple of break points so far they were both in the opening set been a while since she’s had a chance has one now oh doing an awful lot of running as well he Onre some injections of pace from Parry in that game not on every shot but it’s still there when it’s needed and the player that scored the early break has gone on to take each of the sets and it’s uh Andrea that’s holding things up just now she’s uh on a slow March back to the chair I think potentially a change of Racket in order here because we do have new balls and a new racket from Mir Andrea yeah the balls are a lot more bouncy there’s a lot more energy in the balls when they’re fresh and they two or three games AR old then start to get a little bit more fluff on them Parry gets to serve with them with a [Applause] break 15 BL yeah this is uh good moving here from Parry again just getting up in the court easy put away from that position there things looking good for the French woman that’s she was being affected by that slice in the first set and again just not handling it but just makes for an interesting contrast there’s the frustration she’s just not liking that slice parry’s just got a bit of EX extra of everything right now bit more spin bit more slice bit more power that’s good use of the full court isn’t it from Andre you can see the wind is getting up a bit yeah that’s where it’s difficult when it’s windy and this ball is getting down so low she does a really good job you could see Parry not sure which way she was going to go whether she’s just going to kind of hit that open stance or close it off like she did there’s the slice again she’s just not comfortable off that one i’ say that that was well struck as well it was just inches inside this Baseline just look at the amount of slice very long cut on the ball there Parry absolutely has figured out that that heavy slice into the Andre forehand is a winning tactic right now and she has points for a three love lead in this deciding set that’s the forehand that occasionally dips on a long rally wow this is becoming a a very physically played match here she was sluggish out to that forehand at the end of that 18 shot rally Parry she was she would like a short Point here she’s going to be out of puff for uh a few moments might go big on this serve pulled the trigger did not want to engage in uh anything that was above let’s say six certainly not 18 shots that shot wasn’t really on was it just wanted it over she did just didn’t get around that ball and and just pulled the trigger just hoping and it’s such a tell for Andrea isn’t it yeah she’s thinking all right I’ve got you on the ropes I’m going to make you move good Ser that her fastest of this set by some way actually 10 km faster than any other the serve not her fastest of the match serve speeds have dropped off just a little in this set but that a good one well both players here really feeling it but that forehand it’s the forehand side that has just been letting Parry down a little after these longer rallies and Andrea she’s figuring it out she is certainly one smart little cookie out here being tested though after that second set we would have thought she was going to continue some of the momentum she built she was there in time yeah she’s trying to force the issue though she doesn’t want to play these long rallies but you can just see Andrea just on the defensive just trying to get this ball deeper this is a shot that you you want to be aggressive on but again she’s just pulling that racket head down just losing a little bit of Confidence from that position on the court this is a little opening here now again for Andre AA to get back into this third set oh I read that like a novel 182 great serve and then backed it up with that smash but you see Andre just delaying her movement here delay delay all right let’s go she’s going cross got red it well yeah that was uh not really possible that one [Applause] just looking a little scrappy out here as well Andrea because she has to be she’s just getting these slices and these low balls she’s not being able to really play her natural game and and that’s why Parry can be she can be so dangerous this young lady she’s 21 years of age I’ll be very interested to watch what she does in the next 6 months as well lost to her opponent at rolling garos quite easily there’s that forand [Applause] again this is a a right battle this one because it just stretches it stretches the door right open if Parry can hold serve here I think having exerted this much energy in this game if Parry doesn’t win it he might worry for a little Advantage really is a scrap isn’t it yeah it’s uh it’s getting scrappier by the second and the wind is a a factor in that it’s far more of a factor I think than it was at the start of the match it’s kind of in and out but when it catches it is affecting play for short [Applause] could be a critical hold for Diane Perry Andre’s just got to keep testing that physicality of Parry hasn’t she she knows that she’d rather the points were shorter Parry yeah it’s been that forehand that’s just let her down on the odd occasion and whether Andre AA can bring back some of what she was doing in that second set a that’s brilliant there’s that angular play that she likes it’s that heavy ball and pushing Andrea back and then the slice short and it’s just that real unease of the way Andre AA wants to play great physical specialman this young lady carry is a great athlete yeah it it seems like holding that last marathon service game for three love it seems like that’s given Parry a second win she’s looking far more lively she’s down this near end of the Court just in front of us here and she’s right on her tiptoes and dancing around she was struggling a few minutes ago but now she’s she’s back in it physically still fighting though Andrea yeah I think the adrenaline would have dropped somewhat if Perry had have lost that service game it was a real two and throw wasn’t it it lasted a long time and well this is a m win now for miror she got to get on the board here she has to hold serve and just deal with this no pay slice she’s got to do all the work she’s not comfortable hitting this shot this is where all of the errors have been extracted now from Parry into that backhand side and the forehand of Andre dangerous moments now for the 16-year-old facing a double break yeah that’s what she’s got to wait for the right ball to do that if that Ball’s deep or if it’s a little too low she struggled to open up the court so she’s got to be patient enough but then brave enough to be able to change that direction I don’t think this match is uh finished yet though I think there could be another twist she’s a lovely all Court player Diane Paris and she when she has time on the ball ADV joy to watch yeah she’s just enjoying really pushing Andrea around here isn’t she I was a worried for that shot wow for Andrea to read that just couldn’t get the ball to sit down enough to make a a more difficult volley there break point number two in this game now well constructed on that occasion and draa saw the Deep return position that Parry had taken didn’t she yeah she’s so Eagle eyed she’s got this awareness that I don’t know can you teach that luk it’s perception isn’t it she’s got uh something extra it’s that other sense peripheral than a wet the peripheral awareness is is very high though for a 16-year-old clever very clever she can just do about do anything off that backand side but something though whether she will change as she starts to improve and get more confident off both sides most player I would say 80% of the players would hit a four hand from that side there what a hold that could be and D knows it it looks onesided the 3-1 score line but this deciding set just has a different feel about it now well I think she’ll just do anything to find ways and this is what we’re going to find how deep is the competitive uh understanding and and how hard is she willing to push herself to win a match that feel she just maybe had a lot of pressure coming off the the on zuar Match a lot of expectation now and coming to a relatively unknown player compared to an on on a smaller state Stadium it’s a different feel oh it’s just too [Applause] good that is the weapon side isn’t it the off forehand she really can produce a lot of pace here 145 clicks that’s not bad there that open stance thrusted with the hip there to generate pace can’t believe how much more lively this footwork looks from Diane Parry about 10 minutes ago she was right on the ropes wasn’t she physically she was huffing and blowing she couldn’t even disguise it Andre had clocked it and was extending the rallies as long as possible took about a second wind yeah she’s certainly just lifting in Pace and power and trying to keep some of these rallies a little bit shorter oh no over C [Applause] that question is can Diane Perry Under Pressure keep up this game style she knows in the back of her mind she had lost to mirror at the French Open just last year and it was a pretty convincing loss as well this would be a huge win that’s too good fortune will favor the brave today I just sense if Parry can keep up in the court look at that there’s a big difference between what both players are trying to do with that forand side of course we know Andre Eva likes her backhand a lot better it’s where more winners would come from who side of the Court 15 30 how many matches though we’ve done and seen of this young lady mirror Andre and she usually is just so Fearless she’s doing some thinking out here though today [Music] 154 just a little static on all of these slices he not used her legs has not really gotten down to the ball at all uncomfortable with all these sliced shots from her opponent two break points great serve well done Mir Andrea this match perhaps just a little Caution R tail that she’s she’s a brilliant tennis player she is a enormous talent for the future but she is 16 and we can’t expect it all to come straight away [Applause] on the back foot again Andrea and on the floor that just about sums up this deciding set for the young Russian just generating again more Pace off that forehand side not being able to prop and get back that’s a a terrific shot from Parry going back against the movement there look at this score line Lou the the tennis scoring system is a thing of beauty is isn’t it yeah 616 potentially 61 but this is a big question for Diane Parry serving for the biggest win of her career let’s not by ranking but she’s never been to the second week of a slam before this would be massive for the world number 72 oh it’s good Court positioning has been so positive for Parry she’s up in the core Andre a is just doing all the running a good 2 m behind the Baseline one is assertive and one is being very much on the defensive here the running I would love to look at the steps that Andrea has had to track down in this match it’s been a lot more than her opponent not done yet a little reminder of what she gave us against onra two days ago it’s not really her style to come out here and throw some reckless abandon amongst it is it she’s much more of a measured player a consistent player but at this stage she almost needs to go out after it just running out of time almost 4:00 here in Melbourne h oh the chess player meor Andrea 153 sees the tennis court like so few others what a unique skill good to see yeah it’s amazing isn’t it well she needs to do if she’s going to chase that pattern of play there’s got to be a lot of execution at this point oh yes the backand suddenly firing again for Andrea just in the nick of [Applause] time she about to ruin the symmetry of the scoreboard oh she loves running doesn’t she this is where she’s at her best just understanding where her opponent is and how to find those gaps a comeb back has to start somewhere two break points [Music] [Applause] well it’s no question if you you went down from 51 up in the in the third you’d be upset in any way you look at it it’s an upset but a long way to go Miron dra’s really got to pull things together and there’s got to be a little mental shift as well from Parry because she’s being very positive and dominant out here [Applause] a team are very relaxed and positive their their reactions very good when she looks over just clapping the mistakes they know she’s young they have to be pretty gentle with this young tennis player a well she did everything perfectly right there didn’t she Andrea has struggled a little bit and as you said before Catherine there is a little bit of wind but she just did not find the contact point there hasn’t ventured forward enough times today either as their opponent we just saw how many but that that extreme grip just didn’t find the connection had her hand on her he head and hip a lot today [Applause] well her right arm’s got to be feeling heavy right now there’s a bit of wind will’ll give it the benefit of the doubt a she’s lacked that ability to do that today 13 14 it’s amazing how few of the longer rallies Mir and dreber has won that’s her trademark construction of points but the longer they’ve gone the more uncomfortable she seemed match point for Diane Parry well that’s a danger zone really for Mirror Andre AA hasn’t been executing very many volleys at the net and Parry had to do something special she had to find that alley couldn’t make a her opponent play now if you will throw one I can hit one back better that’s one shot she does have possess she does possess but she hasn’t really been able to use it to affect that much struggled to really find Pathways to hit winners today she’s been pushed back she hasn’t been able to really dictate let do it again again lovely love the shot love the fight from Mir and dver she was so good two days ago she didn’t have to fight this is a completely different Prospect today and Diane Parry once again has the question asked of her can you serve out the biggest win of your career remember she’s young too 21 years of age she’s got five years on Andrea but in many ways Andrea more big match experience big moments for the French woman on the cusp once again she’s got the crowd now yeah it’s been a slightly sleepy atmosphere throughout I think because neither set so far has been all that competitive but it just all feels so different all of a sudden yeah you are absolutely right and that’s just going to lift now the the energy is back for Mirror Andre AA touch oh wow look at that reaction that is what is bubbling underneath Diane Parry it’s uh a nervous finish this just may give some really good right here to Andre AA yeah as Andrea was celebrating this incredible point at the end Diane Perry was having the opposite reaction the racket is gone I think she’s going to get a warning here warning Miss there it is she knew that was coming she takes it on the chin goodness what a different complexion this match has about it now [Applause] it’s back to work for Parry isn’t it it’s that backhand slice no Pace keep the ball [Applause] low you just wonder who is going to handle the pressure a little bit more Perry has played the Australian Open last year lost in the first round mirror was on the back cords playing in the Juniors [Applause] that a good steady here she’s two points away Sun’s peeking out now could get a an extra bit of zip on the ball here oh she went for it it was close oh my goodness did that come off the middle of the racket or the side of the racket I’m not sure if she knew exactly where this was going to land and I think there was about 3,00 people here holding their breath never in doubt hey loved how she celebrated like that was exactly what she intended to do that was the biggest wobble of a contact of a smash I’ve ever seen wow from 51 potentially now back on serve it’s a break point for Andrea e [Applause] oh no she didn’t what a hustle from Andra we’re back on serve interesting reaction there to the Mist volley a few few points ago even she would have had her head in the hands kind of just not my day body language but there was such positivity there it was no on to the next point oh good working here from Andrea and this is where she’s at a best when she can really change the direction up she’s got to play that ball down the line now it does have a bit more of a risky element but she’s not able to penetrate and hit her opponent off the court crosscourt she’s got to open up the court look for that one down the line oh she’s toying with her now this is the experience on had 48 hours ago well she’s handling the mix up very well isn’t she from Parry and then when she’s in the inside the court there is that definely touch oh yeah the angle wow ran out of legs there Parry oh this is incredible tennis from Mera Andre AA every point now being played on Andrea’s terms this is the match that she wants it to be two points to level us up dreamy well this is what the crowd loves isn’t it because this young lady does get involved she really is animated on the court she brings that that energy and she wants the fans to get involved she is she’s quite unique isn’t she how she just handles herself how she handles stress she has not hit that shot off that low backand today and you just saw Parry just standing over there waiting for that ball to come back to the backand side again it’s that data management that’s inside miror Andre’s brain yeah every match she’s trying to win but she’s also trying to collect data she’s got a big brain up there she’s got her own win predictor inside yeah [Applause] right this is it this is the miror and D that we’ve come to know it’s all about Point construction just a innate understanding of the dimensions of a tennis court it’s not explosive but it’s so clever she was given a geometry set many years ago and she could figure out the angles that’s for sure good serve [Applause] 59 well totally po now aren’t we five a piece 15 all and there’s a slight Edge back over the Andrea end 15 13 got the momentum though hasn’t Andre a and this is where it’s hard for Parry to build off what she knows Works which is using that forehand using the slice off the backhand side to pull Andre a into to a comfortable position off the on the court that forehand is is just getting a little tight it felt like it was coming there’s a lot going on in the head of Diane Parry right now must remember that she is young she is inexperienced huge match for both players huge moment within this match two break points that would leave Andrea serving for it of course she’s made it she is making everything merror and draver from 51 down is now 65 and will serve for the match never lead by six games to five Dian Parry has been to this round a couple of different times in Grand Slam she knows what this feel is all about and the contest gets a little tougher each round merera has taken this step once before that was at Wimbledon [Applause] now just had a little bit more whith on it that left hand just dragging the racket head up and creating a little bit of speed off that catching Parry now build to attack she got very lucky on those first two slices though they almost look like they were fading [Applause] long that’s the first one and that allows the shorter ball to come back perhaps Andre’s turn to feel some nerves very understandable out of nowhere here A minor momentum switch break back point for Parry a point for a tie break she gets it wow not sure anyone saw that [Applause] coming what a score line ladies and gentlemen a 10 point terate will now be played to decide the match what a score line what a match yeah incredible from both players they fought incredibly well they’ve both bought their game plans into this third set it’s been uh a real battle of the slice of the mixup from Parry and the competitiveness of Andre AA to run every ball down one zero har [Music] regrouped after smashing that racket as well getting a a racket abuse message there from the Umpire just going for that one one too many times but it’s been effective today it has really dismantled Andre aa’s game at times she’s not handled that shot but when you try to execute it a little too well not a lot of margin good body Ser from Andre but the body language so different the early stages I just wonder if uh Mera does that over the course of her long career that she’s probably going to have at some point she’s going to get a s throat he loves to scream out utterly compelling that really does Engage The Crowd though her reactions that’s why so many people love to watch her play wow not to mention we have an fascination to always want to know who is the next Phenom well I think we’re we’re looking at it 16 years of age still subject to WTA eligibility rules of course that restrict the number of tournaments she can play think she’d be out there every week if she could be but uh yeah imagine if uh to get the amount of allotted matches that you would need to play in a year she she would want to play some other Junior events or something some sort of competitive tennis imagine going to a Junior tournament and here’s miror Andre AA the the number one seed does enough on it that’s not the most favorite part of the court for Andrea she has not executed well from the net and you can start to see Catherine a few areas where she really can improve and this is one area this one she was very lucky because Parry could have had a real crack down the line there or just made a dipping backand to make that more difficult and I think just dealing with the differences the variation of games she we know that she loves that pace and power she can redirect very good with her hands but just the the player that Parry is the very the variation of that slice and the height and shape and having to generate all the time she sometimes finds that difficult it all just feels so secure and reliable for Mir Andrea right now you’re not worried that she’s going to miss and wasn’t the case earlier on in the match but no she’s she’s built that Integrity hasn’t she 5-1 down in the third and she was looking like more like a junior but not now should’ be upset that we thought she couldn’t do it not sure she ever doubted it for a second not there yet though only halfway in fact first to 10 by two clear points [Applause] can’t take your eyes off her right now poor Diane Parry yes she’s had chances yes she’s squandered some of those chances but she’s also got sucked into the Mir and D web which well it’s pretty irresistible when it’s like this she just feels she’s got to do that though Parry if she entertains the longer rallies it’s Andre who’s been able to get on and earlier on the forehand when she had more energy in the legs she was able to produce that high powerful forehand but perhaps not now when there’s a little less energy and a little less conviction in the way she’s playing Parry when she was down 52 Andre she needs to throw in a little reckless kind of abandoned situation but she didn’t she just powered on but now it’s Parry needs to really come out and take charge just she’s got nothing to lose from here on in just use your weapons and that’s one of them it’s just not on song though the forehand has failed [Applause] her wait to change end there Andrea she was so in the moment had to turn on her heel he’ll change ends one point from now which could be mat point oh that was tight 84 Andrea very understandable tense moment suddenly this match has the crowd’s full attention it’s been absorbing the first two sets were so one-sided in either direction difficult to get the teeth into but now full Focus from everyone out here on court three tight forand from Parry this time and Mera and draa after being five games to down in the deciding set now has five consecutive match points if required she’ll hope they won’t be her Australian Open senior debut yeah what to get from Andrea and what to put away from Parry so she clears the Slate for one she still got four more to chase down here is it possible that there it is last year’s Junior finalist is into the second week on her senior debut she’s done it the hard way 51 down and the decider 16-year-old Mera and dver incredible [Applause]
