It it’s not choking me out yeah um good shirt well welcome to the show anybody that’s here um thank you for joining us those of you that were able to make it I want to start off by talking about crazy weather out there some cereal

Again have you tried it no oh uh as you know we go to Walmart get some groceries here and there and they always have $9 cereal right here what does it say eat your mouth off plant-based so it’s a soy protein and a isolate pure protein isolate and a lentil protein

$9 going to try it don’t know what it tastes like my P and the shake Alla Rich Piana style um always like $9 cereal I mean you can’t beat the price $9 for cereal but 22 g of protein 22 g of protein it’s uh low in fat low in carb

And low and sugar so this is again probably Styrofoam peanuts with a little cocoa powder and you just you get it down somehow I’m going to enjoy it I like chocolate I’m giv it whirl I still haven’t ate the other $9 cereal $20 in cereal two of them hard to believe got

The Arnold Classic coming up we’re all booked like I said um uh got some information that uh Paul laugher want to do a little speed benching while we’re out there and I think who did it Scotty Davenport somebody sent me somebody got a hold of winning for me and winning cleared the

Uh way that we can train there yeah yeah I’ll reach out to Matt and we’ll hit up his gym I’ve never been to his gym I’ve seen it on video but look forward to seeing Matt winning out there and and doing a little speed bench at his gym

Yeah that’ be Co um this week was was pretty good uh speed bench and Max effort um just uh me myself taking gradual steps trying to stay within repetition range not really um doing anything crazy you know um uh got to let the Jets cool a little bit and uh just

Get my weight back up actually went to Costco like I said got couple packs of flaming yawn some uh rust at baked potatoes been doing steak and potato haven’t really Blended a protein shake yet in the last uh two weeks it’s just been um he heavy dance uh steak and

Potato old school you know and um the weight’s cominging back on a little bit too and I’m very happy can’t say we haven’t had some cheat meals more than often but I think I’m happy where I’m at now I’m not going to tell you what I

Weigh but let’s just say it’s bumped up from 292 02 yeah it’s it’s 320 no none of your business what did you say you didn’t see it uh 320 I’m going 320 you don’t know 320 no close um got a lot of videos I really appreciate everybody that sends videos makes my job

Easier uh it’s been a busy week I’ve been uh a lot of computer work doing here um some programming I’ve been doing and um I didn’t have time Wednesday was a rough day um uh but we got videos anyway a lot of them and um I think

Going to be 48 degrees so it’ll be Springtime again so and I still haven’t put on pants or any sweatpants he not still run around shorts at minus two ridiculous wind chill 10 under and I still do it just people think I’m crazy yes they do yeah I’m not in my right

Gonna going to see some big things from Chad he’s looking strong as hell and let’s check out that uh 480 bench right here at 217 looking solid it kind of looks like a toy good control I don’t know what federation he’s competing in but we wish him all the

Best and when is he competing um he’s competing February uh what did I say 10th yeah okay wishing you the best Chad keep sending us videos February’s long ways away so not really long way away but I want to see what continue your progress here on bench monster

TV uh Demetrio uh just got shout out of having Co that damn freaking Co still out and about doing creating Havoc uh done with that no we’re never done it seems to show its ugly face here and there and as uh as we see uh demitro

Here doing 540 for four reps to a half board in his two ply f8 shirt and Demetrio I don’t need backings on his videos they’re kind of nice they just fill the screen up Demetrio perfect form head back chest up I mean this guy’s a bench press technical Master

Here I know that Co can wipe you out uh body weight and and stuff I mean I lost a lot of weight when I had it the first time I thought I was going to die I mean I went from like 315 down to 280 and I was like uh there’s something

Wrong but then the next day appetite came back full force and I I just couldn’t stop eating it was really weird uh good job Demetrio looking strong and uh yeah yeah awesome uh next up we have James Bart Boral sent me uh three videos here um I don’t think they need backings

I think I’ve enlarged them and we’ll look at them in uh in order here we’re going to do is start with the lightest weight and get down to the heaviest weight uh first up is a 605 opener for the Arnold Classic in March and a two f8

So let’s check that opener out going to be able to see him because we’re going to be there this is a toy oh I don’t know that seems pretty light for an opener that that that was crazy very fast next up he’s doing 655 in a two-ply

F8 here’s a second attempt at the Arnold let’s check out that 655 if it looks like anything like 605 I think it’s going to go up very fast oh he’s got that shirt figured out I didn’t cut that off that was that was not

Me um 705 uh we’re going to going to see here and this this was with light bands uh he says somewhere between 675 and 700 and uh will be uh third attempt in the two ply f8 I don’t know um plan an attack I think this is a reverse band I

Don’t know um no he said bands I don’t see bands do you well the video it might be on there because I had I I had to shrink it down to get in that’s okay but he says there’s bands on there and trust me there

Is take my word for it all right Eric blow uh results from the gorilla pack meet on uh January 13th 2024 wow in uh yeah I don’t know where this is at Amsterdam New York I wrote it down Amsterdam yeah is there an Amsterdam in New York I don’t know

Interesting uh so first up he’s doing a raw bench of 419 and I don’t need a backing with Eric here so let’s just look at his 419 real quick so this is a gorilla Pack Meat I like his feet spacing oh nice bench oh technical awesome and easy easy yeah all right now

We’re going to go to an equipped 777 attempt just missed it at the top you know but we’re going to um uh wait wait wait wait wait why does it say 777 over here I have 705 here that doesn’t no wait oh God I’m all screwed up okay here we go 777 got

Keith Odell right there coaching verbal cues looks like it might have drifted up over his pecs a little bit maybe the elbows turned out the power’s there no question it’s just a it’s just a matter of getting it uh correct yeah and uh hope to see him at the Arnold too

Everybody that we uh talked to on the show here I I just want to keep spouting that we’re going to be at the Arnold I’m not hard to miss uh really I’ll be walking around are hard to miss you I am hard to miss yeah you stick out is what

And 600 to a one board both are PRS and he’s a dark side ironware sponsored athlete lifts in a Colossus style shirt I got to use a backing with Adrien but we’re going to check out his 350 first right here this a raw lift here strong

Kid I say kid because I’m an old man nice nothing wrong with that yeah looking strong that was 350 now we’re going to look at Adrien doing a 600 and I believe this is to a one board so let me cue that up here let’s go find that 600 right

He was at uh the American or was it the American Pro that happened I would I would assume he’s on on point for 1100 which would be ungodly and he’s got legs the size of seoa Tree Trunks when he pulls Sumo oh and does it very well that’s

Crazy and I’m still looking for Coler uh what’s his name Taylor wam Kaylor wam Dr deadlift Dr deadlift where are you you came on the scene and you’re my Hustler I you and I we go to gyms and I put down thousands of dollars saying nobody can

2019 at the pro raw XL a junior by the name of Dylan hell Regal uh created history by becoming the first ever to squat 1,000 lb and deadlift 900 lb raw in a competition here is his three lifts and I don’t know if they’re posted on

Here we’re going to see a 1003 squat a 529 bench and a 9004 deadlift um backing got to have a backing so we got to do this damn thing and uh where we at here Dylan three left right here okay I don’t know if these are labeled

So I wrote them down this is a 1003 and looks like wraps is that a squat suit um I don’t know much about it’s Pro raw power I don’t know what’s going on this is pro raw XL I think that’s a sing I don’t know sing well let’s watch it and see if

We can tell if this is classic raw or what do you call this well it depends if he’s wearing a suit or not I don’t think so if he’s not we a suit then it’s classic raw [ __ ] yeah I think raw cuz that does look like I keep saying sure I

Mean s he’s got some quads on him Jesus here’s Arnold too how about that hey nice that’s amazing Arnold shook my hand in 200 uh one and then I can’t even get close to him anymore doesn’t like me I don’t know oh it’s not that all all

Yep like you yep I used to be Sumo 90 [ __ ] four too hard on the hips I really I didn’t see this deadlift I watched the uh bench and then I was in a hurry and let’s see what this looks like my God Son and more in the tank he got 30 more

Pounds there good job Mr Dylan good crowd too look at that man whoa where is this whoa oh that’s awesome look at that turnout look at that boy they knew what they were showing up to see yeah jeez the um James borgar I really appreciate that Gary Heisley that’s correct APA 900

Uh deadlift I remember that and um God back back then too it was you know there was always those talks like no one will ever bench more than they deadlift and these type of talks and God look where we’re at now Gary Heisley I wonder what he’s up to hope hope he’s doing

Well um if you throwback Thursday where we at now oh okay here we go now we got to go to this guy young man uh 6′ 8 in High School freshman 14 years old benching 415 I thought it was impressive because I could not do this Jesus at 14 a speed

Bench did he miss a grade or two because I don’t know four that’s not even high school that’s 8th grade that’s insane that’s 8th grade isn’t freshman like 15 um I was a freshman at 14 I it depends when when you started school 6’8 this gu this guy’s a 10 crazy a talented

Athlete can go anywhere but close grips 415 like 135 stronger than I ever was um the I you know I throw in you know non-lifting stuff once a a while I thought this was an impressive jump I was expecting Broken Backs legs and all that stuff but this was kind of cool so

Let’s just watch this jump it’s off the top of a roof I kind of thought was cool I mean look at this stuff oh um I think it’s real I think they was that real or is that AI or whatever the [ __ ] is anymore I don’t know that was kind of cool it

Was pretty cool if I did that I would um I’d be done we would make it yeah right then all this would be yours yep okay Terry from Greece threw in a little video here kind of last minute but I got it on the show cuz I

Can almost see it in the in the camera right here yeah you talk into that and you explain what the hell’s going on here okay um so these stay was doubles and this is 355 this was just this last Saturday I believe football day mhm it was okay so

Here we go we doing singles I can’t remember doubles I just said doubles excuse me One and two pretty good depths there five doubles on this day yeah I spot yep thank you and I’m always happy to do so um bench I like bench press let’s check out your bench press there here’s me is this Friday no Monday Monday was a holiday Martin Luther King we were in

Early the sun is still up yep and it’s traps and forearms for that kid back there and little biceps don’t tell nobody all right you’re mentioned 135 45 55 60 170 yeah I can count there some Debs best handoff guy double mhm you kind of drift there I don’t like

That I don’t like when you drift over your upper chest like that and your elbows turn out and things get weird but the first lift looked good yeah had a long pause on the first now here’s your favorite lift deadlift we have two of them here’s one I see my chains way

Better here’s a real lift a real lift not like bench you love bench okay so we got two chains to put my feet back down on bench I’m trying the feet feet down kills my back um this is um 385 bar weight with 40 pounds of chain yep so we’re looking

At 405 at the bottom 425 at the top it’s fing pretty good on this day got to get speed off that floor yeah good right where you need it the most right there at top that’s your that’s your sticky Point yep and everybody stares because there’s

Grown men that can’t even pull that in our gym deadlift too this seemed to be more weight so I included it as the last one well so I mean so now this is 400 lb bar weight with a 20 lb chain so right that chain to sit straight it’s

Fun lot of weight feel pretty good back’s been feeling good on deadlift and squat it’s just this bench which is so weird to me but hey you need to have a big bench in this family I know I’m trying I’m trying that Bar’s bending yeah oh well you got all the

Chain off the ground too that’s 40 at the top yep or 20 that yeah that one was 20 the first one was 40 lbs of chain I had two two 20 lb chains on there and then that one I up to the bar weight but

Took off a chain okay that leads us to a speed bench that the last one yeah you sent me four okay and there’s a couple little ones but those don’t play I have to take the big ones in the text message say I thought when they’re condensed

Like that they’re fuzzy and they don’t work really speed bench what is this this is my first speed bench back with a normal heart rate let’s check out speed [Applause] bench [Applause] Oh yeah I remember this work [Applause] out so Jose broke out the monster Minis and I thought it was a good idea but with 265 and 130 lbs of band tension makes it real heavy at the top but this was a brutal workout I’m telling you it was not

Fun but it was was me and uh Jose Deacon was kind of D loading doing some tricep work outside of the camera so it was just us too decided to get those fat grips out on a decline put a chain on there and roll these back a little

Bit try those fat grips on this exercise sometime it’s a whole new experience my elbows are still a little Tinder but you know what I’m not a quitter I’m still going to do them you got to remember to squeeze those fat grips don’t let them just sit in your

Hand so a lot of verbal cues going on Jose going up to a plate that’s one of my chains on the side we’re on a kind of slight decline not a super steep one um okay this was hard short rest breads these are back to

Back as much as I hated it I really loved it it’s really weird it was it was just hard right here I’m not squeezing it on the first one and Jose says squeeze it then I start to squeeze the grips and then we get moving

Here and I’m telling him how much I hate this workout and he’s laughing about it yeah uh so we decid to do some rolling dumbbells and then some Palms facing uh presses with the same dumbbells this was an interesting one it’s kind of a combo so we do the rolling

Dumbbells that wakes up the triceps around the elbow especially the tendons are run over there and then a little bit of this so a little front Dell and we felt this really really good in the underside of the uh of the arm there oh those look pretty short that’s

One lock out there and some short strok in let’s see what I do very familiar movement here for me but the pressing it’s not hard but it uh definitely uh you get a pump let me tell you Nate Brandon horse back there just sitting around doing

Nothing Jose picking up his feet uh what because that bench is really high that Rogue fat pad is a it’s a tall bench so looks like we got 65s out now I think did a few sets there so 20 reps all together 10 and 10 just different varieties you know trying to

Throw some wrenches in the wheel so the triceps uh can’t figure out what we’re doing and I got veins on the back of my tricep that means I’m pumped yep I’m telling you you can never do enough of these but you don’t want to do them all the time

You got to switch them up do them on the floor do them on the decline do them on the incline it’s nice to do all these reps and get up and not have to lean on something and breathe I just get up and walk away not

Even winded I like this new uh rope attachment that they got for triceps I don’t know who got it but it was a new attachment you know we’re going to use it usually don’t film uh push downs but it’s an essential part of uh before we

Walk out of the gym um what do you think about that that hello onean show uh Max effort interesting night here um the weather was kind of chaotic get the hell out of here and uh that we couldn’t get Dan logman over here because of uh freezing

Weather and rain and all that snow and crap so what we had is what we had and I came in with the dark side uh uh bench band AK the Bumblebee um I call it bumblebee because it’s black and yellow I know that’s not what it’s called but

It’s always I nickname everything I nickname people a nickname exercises you know me let’s check out Max effort and everything just testing the waters with 265 there or 75 what whatever the hell that is with the 55 bar we had a New person join our crew this night his name is JJ and um he’s uh he competed like 10 years ago and pulled 780 bench 500 and squatted something huge and he wants to bench with us and I said come on in here’s a little 325 I’m just making sure I can still

Move it quickly enough or else I’ll walk out and go home Hines here with 405 for five that’s pretty good I’m not there yet I have to get my body weight up and have to get uh the wheels turning again get these beta blockers and the garbage um so I break out this

Here love this little uh mid-range uh bench Band by dark side love it this is uh 500 I’m I’m just uh focusing on reps so just just uh doing what I’m doing not heavy just controlling it I know it’s not impressive to look at but that’s what I’m doing Jose here 4

And uh I don’t know 35 65 got starret back in the house for a workout that was nice to see him back Hines with four 65 is that was easy here’s JJ right here with uh 385 he has a benched free weight he does a lot

Of machines so we got to we got to kind of teach him the technique a little bit it’s going to be work in progress but it’s enjoyable to have him on the crew looks like Hines has got the Bumblebee out with uh 555 I don’t know 495 and 50 something like that good

Form good line too I was impressed straight up straight up down JJ here wanted to uh put that on we said be careful it’s going to fly oh I said don’t you got to control it it’s going to fly out of your hands JJ is a 500 Venture we just got to

Get that muscle memory back in and I think within eight weeks we’re going to see some big numbers from him uh here’s me with 600 one board that’s wanteded to feel some weight you know gradually climbing that ladder again Jose with uh 600 looks like he’s got his two ply Widowmaker

On this is nothing control control control press very easy hindes uh in the 53 triple with 715 off a three board shirt Demetrio sent us I love this shirt fits both of us quite well very easy here’s JJ again with the Bumblebee we add a little bit more weight because

We trying to get him to get down there and touch head back we’re giving him Q oh there he go straight line having done jeans for too much uh time he he’s got to learn that stability and that uh the correct form so we’re working on that

Um Deacon want to do some lockouts he’s sticking at a three board so we’re gonna have him do three board next Tuesday but we decided to go over here in the rack now it’s great for him because that’s a lockout but at the height for Us JJ here at 315 like a

Toy this is where it starts this is how this is how you do it some of it’s basic just rack lockouts we did these back in 200000 or 1998 long time ago for me though it’s 4 inches off my chest so it’s not really a lockout it’s a little bit of

Everything but I’ll do them I don’t care I’m just happy to be there and train and not get winded really low for us see that’s not a lockout that’s uh what concerned me about that is as low as it is you know it’s kind of utilizing some pecs and

Shoulders and whatnot right off the bat it should be a lockout we should have those racks up a little higher but that takes time to adjust those and we just do it for people it’s most important for and that’s these guys right here Deacon looking

Needling I definitely am interested because a lot of times my guys don’t listen to what I say as far as like a rolling dumbbell on the floor they’ll come down you want to let the bounce come out but you got to stay tight and what they end up doing is relaxing and

Then firing again and all that does is piss this off right here and once this you irritate this and get it hot and bothered it stays that way forever because we don’t let up 99% of our tricep exercises involved irritating that area the only exercise that alleviates zero pain and zero elbow

Anything is the incline inverse Kickbacks other than that I mean that’s why I don’t want them um irritating their uh their tinin around their elbow I’ve done it myself and it stays around for a while it’s ugly face like when you’re sitting on the toilet and you bump it on the toilet paper

Handle and yeah you just it it stays it stays hot Louis always said to do those High rep uh minib band pushdowns to stimulate the soft tissue in that area and that definitely helps do uh 75 reps two sets of those prior to a workout and it uh stimulates that tissue in there

And actually um alleviates it but oh peptides work too but I’m interesting in dry needling if that’s acupuncture I don’t know anywhere around here that does that but I definitely you know something to put in my pocket in case one of my guys gets that I want to know

More about what it is well because when they get when they get the elbow irritated then they don’t want to do any type of rolling dumbbells or any extensions because it it hurts right so we need to get them on the healing men to ASAP all right absolutely absolutely

Know you maybe have your back pinched and when you reach for the bar you know you lose your upper back tightness so what I recommend we have these uh monolift style things that go in the power rack and I think you’ve seen them us use them once in a while so basically

They they they leave her out so you can kind of pull the bar out push up in your line and they kick back so we have those but do doing self handoffs is always a um issue cuz you lose a lot of power and position yeah I mean I mean guys that

Self handoff and bench hypothetically 500 for one with a handoff can you know could probably do 530 I mean because you burn you burn a lot of power doing self handoffs getting it out in your line getting set and I did it for a while I

Didn’t have a training partner and I had to you know do it myself but that’s what’s um taxing your delts a little bit doing that and finding a handoff person you know in is hard to do in in a gym mhm you you get uh you know some Mir

Queer over there to come over and hand off for you and he comes over with his hands open and gives you these cotton ball handoffs or you know you got to have your guy and that’s why I’m always looking for people you know um Ryan Hines goes to Gold’s Gym and recruits

People that’s how we got Jose and then he brings uh you know we we kind of we don’t uh we don’t advertise who we are cuz we lift at a gym that’s off the beaten path and nobody knows where it’s at but once they find out where we’re at

And what we do and uh it’s good to get them over and I’m getting more people involved you got to put the word out you know and and say Hey you know I’m doing this I’m doing this would you want to be a part of that you want to be a training

Partner you may not have them forever but well you do have them take advantage of it and and and Excel with uh with what you got sometimes you got to play the card you dealt and you don’t always have a handoff person and that sucks because you can only do so much and

You’re only going to go so far yeah it sucks all right but as far as the UN unracking yourself I I don’t know how much those C you know those red things we got they they go in the holes in the power rack and it it

Swings out oh yeah so you can actually pull it out and yeah those are nice if if I was a you know bench only had nobody to hand off that’s what I would use they’re really advantageous Terry Ferguson all right let’s see where we at

One of the greatest bench pressers of all time and the first to 800 pounds which if you are younger you might not understand how insane that was , Everyone in my gym was talking about it and I thought f**k I have to get into Powerlifting. 20 some odd years later I am still lifting still strong and actually bought some bands and slingshot to have a go in. Its because of Ryan I went down the lifting path rather than just training like 99% of people in most gyms so wanted to say I am glad to see him on hear and hope one day the Bench Monster can get back on platform again.
