On this week’s episode of That Peter Crouch Podcast, Crouch and Chris sit down with West Ham legend Julian Dicks to discuss his iconic role in shaping the hammer’s team during his 11 year reign at the club between 88-99.

‘The Terminator’ sheds light on his absolute power penalties, all or nothing winning mentality and aversion to all things flight simulator related (sorry Starky)

Outside of football, we also hear what Dicksy would have been if it wasn’t for the beautiful game and how a knee injury almost turned him into the UK’s answer to Tiger Woods.

We also FINALLY hear back from our pal Lukas Enrique who goes into detail on that night behind the velvet rope….

  1. Steve Smith (cricketer) has a story about his careers advisors giving the OK to focus on cricket full time

  2. Please leg the brew dog crap, I know they’re helping the pod with money but not worth us having to listen to that shite abar ale no one’s arsed about

  3. Love Julian. Still one of the best players I have seen in a West Ham shirt. Easy for people to forget he was actually a great player as well and not just a hardman.

  4. Didn't think I'd enjoy this one, but Julian's actually a brilliant guest love the energy!

  5. Is Statman genuinely gone? Not mad at the decision, just strange they’ve never addressed it, if so.

  6. Like Starky’s flight simulator, was this pod done in real time because Crouchy looked absolutely hammered come the end😂

  7. I used to play for rippleway in the echo league. My mum wrote to Julian Dicks to ask him to give the trophies out at our presentation. He phoned my house phone and told my mum he couldn't make that day but he arranged to meet us at the stadium and gave us loads of signed bits for the raffle. Shirts balls and things like that. He had pictures with us and all that. Proper legend

  8. Poor guest today, swearing every couple of words has a personality of plain digestive. Only episode over the years years I haven't enjoyed 😕

  9. Statman Dave was alright don’t get why people hate on the guy when they’ve never met him this is what’s wrong with the world

  10. Let’s just fast forward past that rubbish with the beer at the beginning and crack on with the pod shall we

  11. Chris Stark just objectively isn’t funny. Ruins every joke Crouchy makes and is way too childish, but it’s like he tries too hard to be

    Tom Fordyce was actually funny

  12. It makes my blood run cold thinking we once had Dicks and Ruddock as Centre Backs at Liverpool. It scares the crap out of me just thinking about it.🤣

  13. Dicks was part of the fattest Liverpool team ever. Roy Evans didn't want him because of his off the field refuelling regime

  14. One of my first idols! I used to wear my socks half down, shin pads showing and try it the ball as hard as I could. Used to cut my collar off like he did. It’s nice to see he’s as humble and genuine now as he always has been. Rare in football these days ❤️❤️❤️

  15. I remember Julian Dicks nights out! The Rendezvous, Chelmsford followed by Dukes night club behind it. Top bloke always had time to chat, even brought me a beer once. Back in the day he was the best left back in the country, should have played for England. Having my West Ham season ticket back then I loved watching him play. His cross field balls were inch perfect. The season we stayed up with Hartson & Kitson scoring for fun was fantastic but part of the reason we stayed up was because we had Dicksy and Slav at the back. My favourite Dicks moment was at home to Sheffield Wednesday. Dicksy went in on a tackle on Chris Waddle in the opening minutes, won the ball but put him 6ft up in the air, he didn't want to know after that. JD3 = West Ham Legend

  16. Dicksy…legend…one of my favs…never left anything out there…gave it and took it. Very cultured player, could smash a dead ball.
Love how he talks about west ham and upton park, boleyn.

  17. Ah, Julian Dicks. Top quality, prime cut, full-fat, buy-one-get-one free, ballon d'or psycho. The psycho's psycho.

  18. Listening to this and whilst working i keep thinking i'm listening to Michael Caine! Dicksy is a legend and i took my penalties like him, gave someone concussion once in training!

  19. Wow .that game Julian is talking about I was there with my brother and kicked off with a bunch of youngish West Ham fans slagging Julian off . Julian is my 1st only true hero. Best days of my life watching this man play for the badge I love . Not even a real cockney boy , but this nan clearly bleeds claret and blue . Crouchie shit hot podcast bruv new subscription here. Tottenham????? FUCK OFF 😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂
    Love you Julian
