The USGA has named the U.S. Women’s Open Champion’s Medal after Mickey Wright, arguably the world’s greatest female golfer. Wright, who died at age 85 last month, won 82 LPGA Tour titles and 13 major championships.
It’s a shame that this Women’s Open Medal was not dedicated when she was still alive … but, as they say, better late than never.
